1:40 That’s really interesting I never knew that. I was always confused by photos of sailors with a crossed anchor PO badge but wearing square rig. I always assumed it was to do with their branch but your explanation makes perfect sense, thank you!
A very happy new year to both your wife and your good self, look forward to seeing the channel go from strength to strength this year
Happy new year! I love it when its something navy!
Best wishes for the new year.
Nice one Simon, love the RN ones you do... Happy New Year Pal
Cheers John, hope you have a good one!

Happy Hogmanay from all us kids from away... always the first dogs in..... amazing what we'll do for free Rum!!!⚔🍁😇
A general question about ammo pouches. How was the ammo stored within them? was it loose, in a box or by other means?
I'd like to see a comparison between the 25 Pattern and 19 Pattern belt, ammunition pouch and holster.
love it wen u make royal navy videos happy new yere
Would there also be a pistol lanyard? and would it have been a square rig lanyard or issue pistol one
Also would the badge not be in red? I’ve had trouble finding out about PO badges
The red cap badge is worn by ratings up to Leading Rate who wear 'fore and aft' uniform, Petty Officers wear the bullion badge shown. Pistol lanyards were sometimes used but not always, those I've seen most commonly in photographs tend to be the simple exmaples usually considered to be knife lanyards. The IWM online archives contain quite a few photos, I recommend taking a look on there.
@@RiflemanMoore Thanks I’ll do that
Do you know if a Confirmed Petty Officer is the same as a US Navy Chief Petty Officer?
The royal navy has its own chief petty officer rate.
