I just ran into the do not shift message. Hoping tomorrow I can get the module out and clean the connectors and it will be an easy fix. My rv is nosed into my side yard and I’m not sure how to tow it out if it doesn’t work
I sure hope you can get it working by drying it out and fixing any corroded conductors. Otherwise, it will have to be dragged out with the transmission locked, which is hard on both your side yard and the transmission.
The Mercedes techs don’t do it, and stopping the moisture by relocating the module and ensuring effective drip loops probably make dielectric grease redundant, but what can it hurt?
O'Reilly scan: Spark plug A or B of cylinder 2 or ECI Ignition module right bank of cylinder (N 92/1) its describe it as ECI, is that correct? Please advise.
The code you describe sounds like it relates to the Engine Control module or Ignition Control Module. It may be suggesting replacing a spark plug. This video relates to the Electronic Ignition Switch module which senses the presence of a key and authenticates it with the vehicle's anti-theft system to lock the ignition and transmission. If you have a Sprinter chassis with this particular module still attached unshielded on the side wall, you should strongly consider the modifications demonstrated in this video to prevent getting stranded.
Just happened on my 2024 Sprinter 170 2500 with 350 miles on it. Waiting on the part that is now on backorder for two weeks.

Would dielectric grease on the terminal pins be advisable?

Excellent advice thank you for your help
The MB tech that installed the boot bag upside down to insure the collection of liquid to drown the EIS seems to be a moron.
Or gets a bonus for repeat customers- SAD ;-(
Mercedes vans seem to be over priced yuppie wagons .
