This shows testing the output of the alternator directly. If the alternator was producing the correct voltage output then you would need to do a voltage drop test across the negative cable and the positive cable and their connection points separately. But because the alternator output voltage was low the problem was in the alternator itself.
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive It's not testing it directly as there could be a ground wire connection bad from engine to the battery causing it to read low. I would think you would want ground on the alt or on engine at least.
thanks my friend. I have a similar problem but in my case the battery indicator light comes on sporadically, I turn off the engine and turn it on again and the light goes off
Same issue I checked my battery was good I checked my alternator was 140 don’t know what it means but the guy said good possibility a wire but don’t know which wires should I check can you help thanks!
If you are getting 14 volts at the battery then I wouldn't suspect a wire (not yet). You also need to check the alternator's "AC ripple". Your alternator has diodes in it to change AC current into DC for the battery. If a diode is bad it can still put out 14 volts but it won't be a clean enough DC current for the system. If you don't have the capability to test this yourself, you may need to take it to a shop for diagnosis then do the repairs yourself.
@@chris-samuel-cesar if the alternator stops working the car uses the battery for all its electrical needs. Once the battery is drained the car no longer has enough power to run.
My aunt’s Pilot died right at the top of her driveway and steam came out of her 2010 Pilot and it has 199,999 miles is what she told me she says that she wants to keep it but I don’t after the steam and the flashing check engine light and flashing hot coolant system light they got it in 2011 or 2012 and I think it had 50,000 miles on it I don’t remember but if someone can please help me out here 2010 Honda Pilot Touring going up into steam.
@@techman2124 Does the car start now? You'll need to determine the cause before making a decision. It might need a new engine or something else less expensive.
So does your test prove ground cable on battery is good or could that be a possibility while under load?

Same issue here... did you find out why it's doing that?
Check your ELD
Great video! Thank you

Change battery terminal connectors
My dash on my pilot showing battery light and today my car stop on me while driving you think is bad alternator let me know thanks!!
I think it's a good possibility that it is your alternator. Having it checked is always smart before replacing 👍
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive yeah cause now I try to turn on the car and it wont start

I change out the alternative

Checked fuse and Changed mine and the lights still on…
I will be traveling down the high way so the battery light comes on as shown check battery system comes on but I place a new battery.
Change battery terminal connectors
That ideal doesn’t sound good
