I feel like the stone wouldn’t have lasted half of that, had the shots been centered and in a slower succession. That BAR is a monster, one of my long time favorites!
When I was a kid, like 12yrs old, my favorite target practice was using the 30-06 rifle my dad had... I can’t remember exactly what make and model, but was really nice bolt action with what was the best scope available at the time... A lot of his friends would offer to buy it from him, and he wouldn’t even entertain the idea... He knew I loved hitting targets from far out with it and said he enjoyed just watching me have so much fun and practicing a skill... it’s an awesome round and gets the job done 👍👍
It was probably a red rider targets from far was 25 feet empty coke cans!!! 🤣🤣🤣 jk I’m the first on my family to pick up guns and trying to turn my brothers into it they just think it’s to expensive of a hobby lol… my son also shoots 100 yards with iron sights but no 30-06 he shoots 22lr and 9mm 😅 he’s 10

@Phantom Gaming :.... I was actually going to say that’s what I believe it was, but I wasn’t totally sure... But now after thinking on it for a bit, I do remember him showing and telling the rifle to my neighbor, and mentioned that’s what it was... Once we got that scope sighted in, there wasn’t anything you couldn’t hit with it... I used to call my shots when shooting paper with it... My favorite targets at that time were 16oz and 2ltr plastic soda bottles filled with sand... we’d start at 100yrds and work back from there... That round breaking through the air, going down the lane within the sand pit made an awesome noise, and a really nice “THWAP” when it hit the sand filled plastic bottles... I loved it when they would fly like 20ft in the air if you hit it just right hahaha.... Just those memories alone brings back some of my best childhood memories... The whole experience from getting up early like we were going hunting, to loading up the vehicle with everything we would need for the day, to setting up all the targets down range and thinking up shoot stations and positions... He taught me everything, but at the same time made me use my brain to figure stuff out... Probably a lot like everyone else’s dad who is reading this 👍👍...
@HighlightNyn You wouldn't be far wrong as John Moses Browning actually based the .50 BMG round on a scaled-up 30.06 round. It was either that or a .308, but yes you're not far wrong there Highlightnyn, so you win a -cookie- pretzel🥨
@@TheGeezzer You do know that the 308 was designed because the military wanted a milder version of the 30-06, right? A 308 is just a 30-06 short basically. So even if the 50 was based off of the 308, it was still based off of the 30-06 by default.
In slow motion, the Atlas Stone looked like the Star Wars Death Star after the first round impact. Thanks Scott for the Christmas Eve present of another great video. My best to you and your loved ones. PS: the BAR is a beast!!!
Congratulations to Scott’s dad for putting the atlas stone on the table for his son and working the cameras brilliantly. O and to Scott for the great shooting with all the different weapons, just wish I could do things like this here in the UK, Our weapon rules are to tight.

I was a medic in the military, you would be in a bad way on the recieving end of one of these bullets. The power seems similar to a 50cal. It would be interesting to see the shot in slow mo in ballistic gelatin.
There are a lot of gun channels on RUclips, yet you always find ways make your channel stand out. What a way to raise the BAR! I once entered a pun contest. I submitted ten different puns thinking at least one would win. But no pun in ten did.
