- Wanted to talk about Echo Point Nova because it is RAD AS ALL HECK. Also this is hopefully a way to talk about games and stuff outside of the usual sphere of what you might usually expect from me so yeah, appreciate you giving it a shot if you're watching this kind of video.

The point you made at the end is very true. AAA gaming has boiled down to the same shit over and over to appeal to the widest audience possible. You want to play a specific style of game? I can almost guarantee there is an indie game that fits that niche perfectly.

Can someone please explain to me the concept of cosmetics in first person games? I really don't get it... Like, i understand gun skins or like... Gloves or something since you can see those but why something like HATS for example?
There is 4 player coop/pvp option. So here it's actually makes sense
I enjoy knowing that I am humiliating enemies while wearing a Wizard Hat even if I cant see it.

Fun premise but levels and movement were not designed well imo. It kind of just devolves into spamming movement options to stay invincible in levels that are too cramped.

@@Sir_Robin_of_Camelot no, the point of the game is to spam the traversal mechanics and slow mo to survive engagements. You saying that you spam those in the later leves is exactly what the game was designed around. It's like you missed the point of the game by making that statement, that's my point.
Holy shit that footage is nuts. After Doom Eternal raised the bar for shooters, I couldn't even comprehend what was next for the genre.

Had a lot of fun with the demo, haven't played the official release but I'm absolutely sure this game goes hard.
The way you slide around makes the movement look a bit like Turbo Overkill. This is obviously a good thing
It's a bit like quake from some of the level geometry and the general speed.
It's nothing like Quake. Quake gives you a sense of progress and there's strategy built into it - lots of action but you get time to "take a breather" and think about how you'll overcome the next obstacle. What's the progress here? You're just constantly moving and jumping around randomly.

It's like a curated mess of mods. As if you put Doom in Minecraft in Garry's Mod and were playing as Iron Man but as an actual game that takes advantage of all of these things while giving you incredible creativity in gameplay.
It's awesome, cool skateboard riding hot dog is a very apt description.

This is like someone turned that exchange into an actual game. Call of Duty style gunplay with just absolutely ludicrous movement shooter mechanics.
I was sold just from the regular gameplay but then you showed off the literal level-sized bosses that are also race tracks

This really is the movement shooter dreams are made of. Yeah it might not have tightly designed levels like Doom Eternal or Ultrakill, but what it offers is open ended sand-boxy challenges which is perfect when you have this sort of mobility. It's not worried about anything other than giving the players freedom and fun, the simplicity of that is beautiful. My only real complaint with the game is the generic look of everything. I do wish it had a more distinct art style but it's gameplay more than makes up for it!
Bought this game today and I have been absolutely loving it. And for those who pick this up, fuck those turrets on the first boss, you know what I mean.
You know I laughed when some of my friends compared you to Totalbiscuit but that's honestly what this feels like right now
I've legitimately spent more time with the demo for this than any other FPS this year. I hardly ever buy games on day one but you'd better believe I was all over this one the instant it went on sale. So far the full game is pretty much the demo with a few tweaks here and there but I have zero complaints about replaying those same areas-the game world is so incredibly open that I rarely find myself taking the same route even from a respawn. This'll almost definitely be my game of the year.
Am I the only one who sees an omage to the late great Totalbiscuit with the name of this future series? Thanks Icarus!! Keep doing what you love brother!

Severed Steel is one of my favorite games. The demo for this got me hooked. It's like this dev is making games specifically for me.
Interesting game for sure, but the sterile, generic look to everything makes the game look pretty soulless. The environments are fine, a solid 6/10 but the above average look to the setting is completely ruined by the UI, and the character designs that look like they came from a game called Shoot the Bad Men. Those mecs and airships are a crime against steel and brass. The player character looks like the default UE character model. I'm not a stickler on fidelity but art direction is very important to me. This game just looks off. Looking into Severed Steel, I see the devs have a far greater grasp on that neon /clean corporate look. Severed Steel also seemed to have a greater grasp on character design with the player character, it's okay but still not a winner. The arm cannon really doesn't look good for one. Way too much black on the outfit. The enemies do leave a bit to be desired still however. I'm watching this on a big 4k tv and the enemies in both games enemies are not very distinct or quickly recognizable unless they are glowing or have a massive object strapped to them ( sometimes a mix of both a sword and glowing shield for example). You can look at the silhouette of any enemy in Halo and you'll know what it is. The same for Doom, Quake, Blood, Duke Nukem, Cultic, Dusk, I could go on but the point still stands. It's a shame I think this will hold the Devs back, because many people truly judge a game its looks without even the chance grasping the gameplay. Gameplay being the main seller here. They need to truly look into bettering their character designs.
Bought this game right after seeing this. The movement is sooo good, and the pc requirements arent even that demanding, its amazing

Fortunes Runs would be a great fit for this series, that game is so unique and had so little coverage.
A game with no explosive self damage is a game meant for Icarus.
It has almost no story but this is one of those games that I just don’t care about the story all that much so it doesn’t matter because the gameplay is ultra good

It's very fast and very pretty but otherwise it looks like a completely confused mess of a game. If you're having to constantly keep moving, where's the opportunity to think about the next strategy?
This is the problem with today's media, it's the same with many modern movies - throw special effects and action at you constantly but not give you any breathing space to think about what you're watching or doing in case you realise how shallow it all is.
Doom 2016 was exactly the same - constant visceral gore, no time to think about what you're doing, it wasn't a Doom game in the true sense.

Obviously Concord is/was not a fast-paced game if you watched any of the movement in gameplay VODs; the run speed looks the same as the walking speed with most of the characters
