Great review! Exactly what I was looking for, thank you sir! Glad I found this little gem of YT-channels. Subbed immediately! Finally I also decided for Replika XT as my go-to. Valhalla and Echoboy Jr. may be good as well, but the great sound and clean UI of Replika are perfect for a fast workflow. I am consolidating my VST library this weekend and uninstalling/ getting rid of stuff I rarely use. Less is more sometimes in creative processes and I prefer better one good plugin (that I know inside out) than a bunch of different delays in my collection just to deviate myself.
The only thing thats stopping me from trying out Echo Boy Jr is the lack of GUI resizing. On a small screen, i find it hard to read the labels. It somehow introduces this warmth into the signal that I really like though that Valhalla and Replika lacks. I find they have more sharp digital delay sound which could work on some material better
@@vxd the idea is to preserve un amount of the original signal at the begining, and reduce the delay with a threshold. It's a key for the delay on vocals
@@vxd Obiously it's a modern feature. Old tape, BBD delays never had a ducking option. Like you mentioned before you can use a sidechain compressor in parallel. Another great delay it's D16 Repeater. Like Echoboy it offer 20 type of delay like PCM42, Memory Man, Tape delay. For more accurate emulation there is many delay like Lexicon PSP42, Pulsar Echorec, IK Tape Echo, AudioThing Outer Space

That's a great idea. Replika is also my go to delay these days, so easy to control and it'd improved my productions.
Well said!
how did you make that drum break!!!????? Super tight...!!! please do tell.
hey, so the bass is repro VST and the drum is a oliver power sample, from splice, I cant remember exactly which one as I made this video so long ago!

Yes ! It has this great warm saturator effect in there. I agree.
@@vxd on their site it says they are not selling it individually....
@@legacygone oh that's a bummer
great comparison!
Thanks 😊
Nice video...I really like the replika xt!
thank you !
valhalla and replika have ducking which is a very important feature IMO
What do you mean ducking? Like sidechain or eq?
