Beautiful apartment, and great windows! Thing is, I would be wrong to not mention those containers are just not right to keep the betta in. (my husband and I took in 4 betta that were left by someone in our building when they moved leaving them behind. Anyway, we have 4, each live in a 10 gallon tank, 2 & 2, side by side) We live in a small space as well, actually smaller. Those containers would look pretty with maybe some white sand, found little shells along the beach, and lovely air plants. Honestly, to be fair to those betta, they really do need a bigger tank and greenery.
Yes!!!! Can't help but feel that keeping them in such small bowls is cruel.

I would highly recommend buying plastic storage bins that have wheels as then you can roll it in and out .
I did Kon Marie and now to maintain am hooked to flylady . They are the best . I only have 2 sets of sheets . One I use the 2nd is clean and ready . As soon as I change the sheets they go into the wash immediately.
I love that you give tips for maintaining and daily upkeep as you show your space!!! I loved this sooo much!!! Clutter attracts clutter and this made tidying up sound possible!!!!

I actually lived with two other friends in a studio apartment when we were in college. We actually loved it too. My mom always kept a candle on the stove too. It really is so cozy!

I, too, live in a studio, (just recently), and I LOVE IT!!! I had a one bedroom, before, and a lot of storage space, which meant...you guessed it...a LOT Of stuff...stuff that didn’t get used and stuff I had, over time, forgotten I had...til it was time to move. I love how you store things, and I do the same thing, except, I gave up having a bed and just have a futon, which is super comfortable and it’s where I sleep. If I ever move from here, I’m going to look for a studio apartment. I never thought I’d like it, but I love the size. It’s been a few weeks, so I’m still unpacking, on my days off, but it’s awesome having a lot less space to clean. I can’t wait to decorate for holidays, too.
I love your Disney pins!! I want Mrs. Potts and Chip!!!! I am such Disney junkie! Your apartment is beautiful. I am in the process of downsizing and this is inspiring. I totally agree with you in regards to paying less and getting the same amenities. I am moving into a 1br that is right on the lake and I get to enjoy the same views and amenities as those in the larger more expensive apartments.
So glad to hear the fish have been re-homed to larger tanks. Any fish needs min 2 gallons per inch of fish. We have our Betta in a 10 gallon tank and she is barely 1.5 inches. We also have our 8 inch goldfish in a 30 gallon tank :). Anyways great video, hard to believe your place is only 800 sg. ft., looks so much smaller than our studio that is ~600 sq. ft.

Hi Charlotte, I love your cute apartment! My husband and I went from 3400 sq ft home in Northern California down to 800 sq foot 1 bedroom apartment so we could live in Huntington Beach. BEST thing we ever did!!!!!!!!! Now, excuse me while I go declutter something:)

Love your toys. There are scores of "12 year olds" out there, believe me. It is called buying back your childhood and it gives people joy. I collect 1980's My Little Ponies, a friend of mine still has and displays her Barbie collection, and another friend has a whole wall shelf of Star Wars. It's fun.

I think u did an amazing job with your studio apartment. I totally agree with u about smaller place =less time cleaning. My husband and I had a huge log home with a two car detached garage out in the country and we sold it and decided to buy a condo. By far the best decision we have ever made. So the best of it all is if we want to go somewhere we never have to b concerned and we just lock up and go as for our log home it was having to get someone to check it regularly. Living a minimal lifestyle is so rewarding in so many ways.
I c u love straws as do I but I have opted in reducing my footprints and have purchased collpsable straw and I love it as it comes with me everywhere I go.

Great intro... it’s nice that you have the book to help.. my mom was the one who taught me.. but I enjoyed how you were able to learn to organize. My husband puts nothing back so even though I have a small home.. I’m constantly cleaning because my hubby just puts things anywhere.. I do fell peaceful when I have my home nice and clean!.. thanks !

My house is certainly not even close to being organized like yours but I do have to have my kitchen sink clean!! A good Dawn dish soap wash down then Windex to make it shine...just makes me feel so much better and I LOVE candles and always have them going. Thank you for a tour of your home!!

Hi, thanks for your concern but these are betta fish, which in nature thrive in small spaces such as rice paddies. At pet stores they are kept in small individual cups but we give them each their own one-gallon tank, with plenty of fresh water, food, and loving from us every single day.

Yeah, it's actually not true that they 'prefer' smaller tanks, I really wish people would stop spreading such misinformation. For fish a bigger tank ALWAYS better, always! AND FILTRATION for the love of all things aquatic.

800 square feet? Nice! My husband and I live in a one bedroom apartment in San Diego, and it's about 780 square feet.

Love everything you have done. I'm considering as one person downsizing from 800 sq ft 1 bedroom apt to possible 400 to 600sq ft apt. Going through the process of getting rid of stuff. You would think one person is easier but I'm a bit of a hoarder so.... but great apt and I'll hit the subscribe button.

MILK AND HONEY LIFE I actually really enjoyed the live action! My husband was gracious enough to sit through it twice with me in theaters haha! I’m also in love with the soundtrack, not gonna lie I have it playing in my car! 🙈 the animated version will always have a special place in my ❤️❤️. My hubby and I are going to Disneyworld for our anniversary and I can’t wait to eat at the Beasts castle!!!

Thank you for sharing your great ideas. I think it would be smart if you used bed skirts to cover your under bed storage. It fits on top of the box spring of the mattress and covers the sides of the bed. Also, I keep my insulated bag in my car trunk. This way I can store my perishables in the car after I shop and do a few more errands without worrying that the food will spoil. I really like your idea about storing things in your suitcases.

You did an amazing job setting up such a cute, cozy home. Hey, I hope you leave your closet door open with the dogs in there when you are not home because the air doesn't have enough room to circulate around those crates and it must be very stuffy in there even with the door open. Putting a laundry basket on top makes even less air able to circulate. Love everything else that you did. Good job. Please consider moving the crates out of the closet.
Hi yes, of course, the door is always open if they are in there and there is also an AC/heat vent that flows directly in and keeps the closet at the same temperature as the rest of our home. Usually the only time they are in there is if they choose to go in on their own for some quiet time, otherwise when we aren't home they go to doggy day care.

And that's so sweet of you to say about the doggies...they love it having their own quiet space to escape to when they need a break and I love that the eyesore of dog crates is hidden! I use to do FlyLady about 15-20 YEARS ago! Lol I can’t believe she’s still around! I got overwhelmed by it but maybe I’ll try again now that I’m not 20 with a toddler lol
The one thing that has ALWAYS stuck with me though is to “shine my sink” I learned that from FlyLady and it’s stuck with me through the years!

OK- just read some of the beta fish comments and I think you're fine with yours. We had them years ago and were told to keep them separately (never two in the same bowl because they fight.) Simple bowls with no filters or anything. Anyway- one woman's opinion. :-)
Hi! I'm replying because I thought the same thing but my close friend (who loves her Beta named Bowie) educated me more on the matter. It's a myth that betas can be kept in small bowls like that. Yes, you need to also keep them either separate or in a HUGE tank. Small bowls shorten their life spans. :(
