    Even though Perkins is kinda fishy he always makes these big cash games fun. I suppose it's easier to stay off tilt when you're worth 400+ million though.

      @@pugsnhogz, he didn't make the majority of his money through poker. And he's 54, so not as good as the later generation players who grinded their way to the top and continually improving their craft by learning the latest poker theory. Poker is no longer like Brunson's day anymore, now it's heavily math based. It's not a surprise that many top players had a strong math background while in school.

      Definitely a nice call, but not quite as outlandish as it may seem. Alex didn't raise pre, so it's easier to discount Ace and King high hands. Flop checks through, and the turn pairs the board. Alex bets small, and Q high is a standard call. Once he bets that much on a blank river, he's completely polarized. It's either a 6, an occasional monster like Jacks full, or air. Small blind into big blind, and someone as aggressive as Foxen WITH a distinct chip advantage so he's more likely to put pressure on, makes this weighted towards a call. Obviously tougher to read that and do it real time, and Doug is a master of that. Truly top level player...

      So, any K is a standard raise from the SB?
      Also, If you are ruling out A or K, the J is more likely.
      He bets 60% pot. How much is a reasonable bet for a J?
      How much is reasonable for a 6?
      If you think he should bet 30% of something, then you also think he should fold a J when he is raised, and bet 30% with a 6?

    Not going to lie… it must be challenging for others not to question the conflict of interest with Doug playing at The Lodge with that Queen high call on the first hand of this video. I probably am just outing my inexperience here but I would love to see/hear a breakdown of how he can make that call there.
    Edit: For the record I can’t see it being worth it to anyone for there to be any shenanigans and I love what Doug and the crew are doing at The Lodge. I can simply see how difficult it is to separate themselves from the questions of others if they come up so feel I should question myself despite not being on that side of the argument naturally.

    • @Jolly-Green-Steve
      @Jolly-Green-Steve 8 месяцев назад

      Let's go over that queen high call hand. If someone is in the small blind and it gets folded around to them if they have an Ace or King high hand they know they are most likely ahead of any random two the big blind has so they will raise. So you can pretty much eliminate those. The flop was jack/rag/rag so even in a multi-way pot nobody flops a pair more often then not so even more so heads up it being even more likely neither player paired the flop. Do to his check on the flop/weak bet on turn/over-bet on river this is most likely a bluff because if he somehow paired the jack he would have bet around 25k and probability wise it is very unlikely he has the trip six as well. Putting all this information together is how you wind up with a call in this situation. People who play poker everyday for a living have a high understanding of probability like this one that amateur and recreational players just have no clue about and can only sum it up to cheating somehow.
