Kenny was offended when Chuck was talking about bus drivers and bus riders because he knew which group Chuck would put him in and Shaq finally said it here
He wasn’t the 1 or the 2 so I see why he in his feelings 😂
@@calibearplayer3398 because Kenny was just a bus rider under Akeem Oljauan.
Yeah he might be offended but the team is important. Chuck and Shaq think only the main players impact the game --they have extreme points. it's not that simple. The point Kenny is making is the type of team you have will determine your chances. Individual talent can only get you so far if you face a team that can match you with the talent and a better system. Boston is playing historically great defense that's why Kd and Kyrie have been stymied. They have better coaching and a better team culture. That's the point Kenny is making. KD is struggling not because he's not really a great player, it's because he's facing a great team that probably will go on to the finals and win. But yeah, rising above this defense would enhance KD's legacy or playing well against it.
@@zpacify couldn’t have said it better man. The Celtics are playing absolutely amazing right now, and to be honest, it’s super fun to watch. They legitimately could go all the way this year. And I’d love to see it

Kenny, stay out your feelings. Shaq is 100 percent correct. Him, Chuck, LeBron, Kobe, Mike -- that's a responsibility that Kenny Smith never had.
Yeah but you can't judge kd over these last 3 games I think the nets need more time as a team
Shaq and Chuck are only half right. Kenny is right--the KD slander is over the top. He was a bus driver but yeah those warrior chips don't mean as much if he won it in OKC that's just the way it is. But he's facing a historically great defensive team. Should he play better? Yeah of course, but there are other factors involved.
@@umairejaz6665 but those game are the most important one... the games in the regular season doesnt matter anymore, the playoffs an the reg are two complete different animals

When Shaq and Chuck agree on a basketball point its just a fact. They disagree on so much but when they align that is just basketball law. They are 100% right on this one.
They're half right. But Kenny is also right, it's been over the top. KD and the nets are facing a historically great defensive team. They are finding out that it takes a team to win not just a bunch of superstars. You have to have the right system and team culture. But having said that KD needs to play better and overcome the challenge which is what separates the great ones. But maybe that's for next year but he'll be 34-35 -- that's the problem.
@@zpacify his age wont change anything in terms of his skill
@@zpacify KD will be back next year, this isn't the end of his career. He's a shooter who can shoot over most people-- as long as the Achilles holds he should have longevity. Nets definitely need a lot of changes. Nash will be gone, maybe even Kyrie. They need a defense bc they were swiss cheese. People are just lapping up schadenfreude right now bc the Nets were arrogant and now they look ridiculous. But I don't see this as a referendum on KD's legacy. That said, no, he was not the architect or heart of the Warriors-- he did join a readymade champion that had already won.
Nah they're right this time for sure, but there are times they're both wrong. Love Shaq but that dude doesn't even watch much basketball anymore

That’s the reason why I like about Shaq and Barkley , they don’t give a break to the best player . You have to be that man at anytime.
There are bus riders but if you start and contribute then you’re more than just “passenger” on a bus. Like how many players won a chip without some passengers coming in clutch and doing big things

Kenny IS standing outside looking in, stop denying. Yes, his role was important, but he does not and will never understand what Hakeem went through. Players like KD comes with different expectations, and KD fell far below that expectation in every aspect.
Kenny just keeps making himself smaller and more irrelevant here. Chuck and shaq should say: "If the rockets were down 0-3, Hakeem would get all the blame, but not him!". Kenny can’t get over the fact that he was indeed a bus rider! Bus riders do their part, but to be the BUS DRIVER, a player has to go above and beyond the norm! I.E, Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, Dirk, all rose to the occasion !!
💯
Don’t forget Lebron
It's not like KD hasn't had great games and series. Chuck his half right but Kenny's right --he's over the top. Boston is playing historically great defense. Many of the greats had at least on bad playoff series. They're just playing a better team. Having said that, KD needs to play better and rise to the occasion.
Lol lebron is not bus driver he’s the f pilot
Kenny Smith the older he gets the better he was, 4-5 yrs from now he might be the goat in his mind
Lebron had 33.6 points, 12.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists in the finals vs the KD Warriors with Kevin Love as his 2nd option and people still hold that finals loss against him. We can definitely hold KD accountable for not performing up to HIS USUAL standards in a FIRST ROUND SWEEP.
Kenny "I'm not gonna judge him on just 3 games"
Those 3 games were more important than the previous 82 this year.
Yeah you play 82 to just get to those 4 games. thats what the regular season is about. thats why its called "regular" season.
Kenny riding the bus all his life, no wonder he is offended. This show is an example so were the rocket days.

Some HAVE to be a bus riders, we can't all be bus drivers. There is nothing wrong with being a bus rider because the right bus riders are key to the overall success of the team. But yes, bus drivers face a the kind of pressure and expectation that bus riders know nothing about. As Shaq said, Kenny is outside looking in.
Thank you Shaq! 👏 Kenny still riding the bus😂 He would be nothing without Hakeem and even more without Chuck, people tune in to hear Chuck not him

People just love not to know... it gets them excited I guess, that’s not what Chuck was saying 🤦🏿♂️
Kenny doesn't understand because he obviously was never the "superstar" on a team. Chuck and Shaq are correct
hes not even a "star"
If Kenny just had said, “Msybe Durant just isn’t a good leader, so he needs someone else driving that bus,” he could’ve had some type of argument, going back to playing with Westbrook, and having half as many shots.
Kenny’s should’ve just said, the leaders aren’t always your best player,” then try to explain his own experience, but I think he was a bit emotional.

Man. Kenny is getting treated like Kenny in Southpark. 😂
Chuck being spot on again.
Also KD and kyrie proof that real life ain't NBA2K
yup
Kenny is missing the point. KD is clearly showing (at 33yr) he has no idea how important NON-TECHNICAL skills are to the sport he has devoted his life to excelling at. He became a locker room problem at GSW and left with 2 rings but without a clear RATIONAL understanding of what it truly takes to excel in the post season. He'll need some insight to be more successful going forward.
I think Kenny is also right -- there are more factors in play here. like Boston being a historically great defensive team and Brooklyn not having the right system and culture. But you are right, KD needed to learn how to be champion but he skipped that by going to Golden state and now he's again learning all over again. You can't just bring superstars together and expect to win instantly.
Kenny just keeps making himself smaller and more irrelevant here. Chuck and shaq should say: "If the rockets were down 0-3, Hakeem would get all the blame, but not him!". Kenny could be score less, and nobody blamed him. That's what chuck meant by bus driver. Kenny was just too proud and sensitive to admit that
Kenny got hit really hard in the feelings with that bus comment.
He probably went back home and cried himself to sleep.
I think kenny got hurt because chuck was discrediting how important bus riders are and he was one of them. Imagine how would marcus smart would react if chuck say don't act like you beat the nets cuz you're not the one driving the bus. Even tho marcus smart played good defense that series.
They hardly ever interrupt each other, there is ALWAYS respect between everyone, there honest and naturally funny, and smart. These guys have a great thing. People who don't watch basketball watch these guys. Always great to watch!

But Kenny's point is that you can't say someone is a bus rider, or not leading, just cause he has 3 games. I'm sure you can go back into Michael Jordan's career and find a 3 game stretch where he didn't play outstanding, doesn't mean he wasn't the bus driver for that team still. That's all Kenny's saying.
@@moocowp4970 but chucks point is when he was at gsw he just have to be the nail in the coffin and now he is the leader and they havent won anything yet in his tenure in brooklyn just as they havent won anything in okc for all those yrs so of course his credebility is questioned. Nobody is questioning his greatness but his leadership is another story.
This is probably one of Inside’s best segments. To give emphasis that superstars carry burdens and huge responsibilities when their teams experience fallouts is often overlooked, and these guys pointed that out really well. It ain’t always easy being a superstar or the franchise player of the team as the blame will always go to them when they go downhill. As Shaq and Chuck pointed out, role players never got the blame most of the time and they both endured it during their playing careers. This episode alone deserves an Emmy.
Not in LA or a Lebron team. It’s always the coach.
"I'm not gonna judge him on three games," well, everyone else will. And does, for every other superstar. There's games that the media crucifies other players for, even years later, and these will be KD's. Right or wrong, it'll happen.
Yes if this was LeBron or anyone else, Bird, Magic, Giannis, name any superstar, they would be getting killed. These are facts!!!!!!
💯💯💯 superstars are expected to perform NIGHT IN AND NIGHT OUT and they get paid like it.
Kenny needs to stop babying KD and Kyrie. They wanted the smoke by teaming up, they've had a team built around them so now they have to perform. Period.
I'm getting sick of Kenny to be honest. You are on TV to give your opinion. If you're not going to give your opinion now and only after the series is over, GET OFF THE SET Captain Hindsight.
Chuck has wise words, wise enough to be a discussion on every sports conversation.
Chuck and Shaq's point is easy to understand, I don't know why Kenny is so mad. Kevin has to have a better series so that even if they lose, people can't say that it was because Kevin played bad.
Example: Charles didn't play badly in the Finals against the Bulls, he had a great series, people say Jordan was too good or the Suns needed better role players.
I agree but MJ did go off in that series tho. He was at his absolute apex that year.
Because Kenny have complex xd
Exactly…those that Sun’s team needed better role players. Role players like Kenny…
Kenny's saltiness today brought new flavor to this show. I am enjoying how Shaq and Chuck on the same side. Them fighting is so 4 years ago.
Kevin durant couldn’t get it done as the man in OKC and it took him to join a stacked warriors team to finally win a championship. Chuck is right he’s been the clear cut leader of this Brooklyn team and he is not getting it done. He will never be viewed as one of the greats until he wins leading his own team.

@@secondaccounte1209 there's levels to it tho. KD could potentially go down as a top 10 player all time. He's already in the 15-20 area as is. But in order to do that he needs to take the next step with this Brooklyn team.

Oh man Inside the NBA fired up tonight!!
Kenny may have won a couple rings, but he really doesn't know what winning is about when you have to lead a team and actually winning a game or two on your own, as an all-star player. Chuck is hitting it right on the money.
Bus rider is now in the NBA lexicon. Chuck legendary
Sounds like Kenny still sore from the bus comment last night

Maybe its me but im kinda liking that they are having a expressive convo about this.
In my view the Nets if they dont pull up then all that momentum they built in the regular season will be a huge waste. Its one thing if you lose in a tight series race...its another thing if you are on the verge on being swept.
In the end it happened, and did bad also in this Game 4, a clear dip in crunch time, despite Tatum fouling out too.
Shame on the Nets but especially their two stars.
Kenny is right, it is a team game but like with his Rockets. They would put the blame on Hakeem, because he was the superstar of the team.

Not enough credit going to the Celtics, they keep just saying how KD needs to play better without acknowledging that it's a team game (so the rest of the nets need to play better too) and that the opponent matters. Stop talking about how someone just needs to lift to a new level and start talking about the technical aspects of how you beat a defence as good as the Celtics'.
So we ask Celtics to play softer? They are talking at it the the POV of Nets and how they can, at the very least, win a game.
