They are covered with rats at night. Many have outlets and cords going out to them and create thing to cover them. Saw a waiter get hit with a E bike. I dont understand why people like these in NYC.
Total abuse with the sheds. Any sheds that are not down should have DSNY disassemble them and trash them. There are new rules that should be adhered to so we can all see for ourselves if that is effective. Montreal already has this seasonal polict for outdoor terraces.
Outside dining options definitely made sense. Some wouldn’t understand because they don’t dine out much but the luxury of being away from everyone made it feel special 😢
That's why there is sidewalk cafe options. The seasonal sheds already exist as open-air terraces in Montreal. There already exists a model. These restaurant owners are selfish and should be fined more heavily with each offense. After a certain amount, their establishments should be SHUT DOWN until the shed is removed.
It's not only the inner city have to check the 5 boroughs much nicer areas still carelessly have them up, It's simple with a $1,000 fine increase force them

Give the business a break. They provide jobs and extra seating. Is the goal of the city to reduce revenue so people have less to spend, and finally less tax to collect?
1:08 she admitted it. It is just free extra seating space all on public property. Take em down.
Take it down!! Never put them back, not even for summer dining. No one likes them!!!!!!! It makes NYC look even worse.
eh who cares. We've got bigger problems to deal with than this trivial shit like illegals, crime, and the homeless...
the sheds bred the RAT infestation genius
I tried to say this online and a whole bunch of gentrifiers came for me. Native NYers hate the sheds. It’s disgusting! Mad rats
Yes they did they took the one down by my block rats started scattering
Fine them, these things take up way too much space, these are public streets.
The manager who said the shed won't come down yet... I'm sure she will change her mind when the fine gets handed out by NYC.
And if that doesn’t do it, wait until it snows and it gets plowed in.
If you want to dine outside put chairs and a table. Keep it simple besides who tf dines outside in certain areas of nyc thats just nasty
Shut them down until they do

Yo, NYC really lost its touch man. It was fun while it lasted up to the late 2000s but now its cooked
Its an eye sore. It looks tacky. It was only supposed to be for the pandemic.
eye sore... should never be allowed taking street space again
If you think empty parked cars are a more valuable use of space than 20-30 people eating outside, you belong nowhere near NYC
Its free business space and even the fines are ok cheaper than rent

can we see mad max levels of enforcement? that would be entertaining..
two men enter one man leaves.... two men enter one man leaves.....
How did this become the fabric of NYC if it took up parking spaces and attracted rats and garbage to the area? More like people are sick of that bs.
The fabric of New York City is parked cars, not people outside dining and enjoying themselves.
You're out of your mind if you think 2 parked cars is a better use of space than 20-30 people eating
You don't own the sidewalk and the street. Take that shit down
Why do people think that 2 parked cars is a better use of space than 20-30 people eating?

If you want “the luxury of being away from everyone” nyc def aint for you.

The idea of creating these was completely Moronic!
pay more property tax
So absurd that these restaurants got 🆓 real estate and 🅿️ for 3 years...

terrible idea in the first place, the nyc sheep fell in line tho, like always
There’s plenty of room inside the restaurants
outdoor urinals
And... DRUG DENS at night!
NYC causing a mess they can’t fix. I lived in NYC for 30 years born and raised. I finally moved best decision ever❗️
Little Italy is full of them
Until spring isn’t bad given it’s winter so this is a good temporary sacrifice.
What kind of people still think any of the COVID era nonsense made any sense?
This cannot stand. They just be punished to the full extent of the law.
They made money with the sheds. It’s costly to remove them. They’re just going to let the city remove them & pay $500 fine instead of removal bill 😂
They should stay forever. Space for humans is more valuable than space for empty cars.
Leave the sheds up they are a nice aesthetic
You should wear a dislike button on your forehead
But they took away parking space
I loved the outside dining options

I liked them. 🤷🏿♀️
Damn! She cute! 🥰
Smoke show at 0:51 and 2:08!
The city is a joke
I love sitting outside regardless of weather
