If you play high ping (everything above 50) in my opinion rails are much easier to hit. Especially around 100 ping you often see this ping abuse rail only players. Easy way to deal damage if the opponent would be often already behind corners.

Are you new to Quake? Ryder played absolutely brainlessly and only hit rails because of the netcode and there's not much anyone can do against that that. You're confusing hitting shots with skill.

Honestly Ryder felt like the better player for most of it, it's just a shame they started to throw it near the end.
That's what made Raisy the far better player. I lose to less "talented" individuals all the time because their fundamentals are better.
