    corey feldman DID NOT downplay his experience. he's being clear. being touched is bad; being raped is worse. what happened to Feldman is bad; what happened to Haim is worse.

    • @FiercelyGold
      @FiercelyGold 8 лет назад +1

      +Kathryn Dorsey agreed. ive been felt up many times and i "lost my virginity" after being fed a bottle of vodka and led to an isolated room where i couldn't even sit up and fell off the bed. not ok. but do i call that rape? i think its insulting to people like Haim to call that rape. i couldn't compare my experiences with some truly horrific (violent) rapes.

    • @maybewise
      @maybewise 8 лет назад +6

      I agree with a lot of what you said. It could've been worse, but while it wasn't forcible rape, it was still rape. There's a spectrum between it TECHNICALLY being rape, because of the age gap, and it explicitly being rape, because someone violently attacked you, and intended on sexually hurting you. What you described was plain rape.

    • @BohemianKitsch
      @BohemianKitsch 8 лет назад

      +maybewise how can you agree with "a lot" of what i said when i'm only saying one thing?
      the distinction you're drawing doesn't even make sense. your distinction hinges on consent, as in it would technically be rape because they were too young to consent. which leaves me thinking, "what the hell are you even talking about???" 1.) that's not a spectrum. the age of consent is a line. and 2.) violence is not a spectrum, either. i'm going to assume you didn't mean it that way, but i have to point out what your logic implies: they closer the attacker & the victim are in age, the more violent the encounter has to be to count as rape. that's what your "spectrum" would mean.
      in other words, your point doesn't make any sense.

    • @maybewise
      @maybewise 8 лет назад +4

      TheWanderer There's a spectrum on how much the rape was forced. From manipulation, and coercion from authority figures, to violent assaults. I don't know if you're just really young, and don't know what "spectrum" means, or if you just read my comment wrong, but I'm not trying to fight. My point is that rape is more than violent attacks. And what you described, was rape, even though it could've been worse.

    • @maybewise
      @maybewise 8 лет назад

      TheWanderer Oh, I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to FiercelyGold. But for some reason, it didn't tag her name, when I clicked "Reply".

    What people fail to realize about these situations is that these high powered people are very well protected. They have the best lawyers and know how to "persuade" the judge and jury. It will be very hard to win a case like that. Plus, if he gives any names, they will "get rid of him" really quick. It makes me angry knowing that these people can get away with acts like this.

    My hope is that perhaps whenever someone is struggling with addiction, people who are prone to criticize are given just one moment of pause after hearing these stories. You don't know what someone has gone through in their lives. No one deserves to just be written off because they are in the throws of addiction. No one deserves to be dismissed or ridiculed because they've lost their battle with addiction.

      RE: The ILLUMINATI-ists(?) ( i didn't know that the "TYT" channel, had become so conspiracy-oriented! 😮) who *wrote that Feldman would be dead* ..
      *Feldman dropped names in 2017 on the Dr. Oz show*, including Alphy Hoffman as *his molester* . He finished his book, (dropped the names) *remarried 2 years ago, & has 3 children* , so i'm sorry to break up the..pizzagate(?) tinfoil hat party that wanted(?) to see him die(?) to prove their theories *AND/OR*
      *didn't want to see him die* and were fine(?) with Corey holding this list hostage for payment(?!) bc it meant that "pizzagate" was "real, to you"?!? Either way: It's twisted. Bottom line: *Feldman is alive.* i liked your comments so you could read this.

    • @jinhyun1
      @jinhyun1 8 лет назад +7

      And not only that the pedoes who did this to him almost certainly targeted other kids as well. Now that he's mentioned it, other people might come forward who had the same experiences with the same set of people(and his interview is intended to serve as a cue for them) And then suddenly if there are 30-40 of them(or even 10-12), then they can start naming names(because it'd be hard to sue them all and also because so many are telling the same story, it has a lot more credibility with the public) Exactly as in the Cosby case where a single woman alleging rape would have had no credibility and would be in serious legal trouble. But because there are so many, it's Cosby who's on the run both because we're inclined the women rather than him and because he can't sue them all. So he's being both wise and socially responsible with this message

    • @alidan
      @alidan 8 лет назад

      the left largely feels pitty for them, they are sexually attracted to something they can never have legally and would love to help them in some way, however there is a clear line when you decided to act on attraction in a way that hurts a real person.
      fact is there are likely more pedophiles in the world then we realize, many of them, out of a love for kids (don't know a better wording here) get positions close to kids to help them as scary as it sounds, they never act. as i was growing up, i probably interacted with quite a few as a kid now that i know what to look for.

    • @mirjamtanguay6439
      @mirjamtanguay6439 8 лет назад +7

      yes, because "the left" speaks as one voice, "they all unanimously sympathize with pedophiles...(sarcastic tone). just to give you a bone, there is probably a statistical correlation between being a pedophile victim and then perpetrator when older

    • @harrisonsnellgrove8843
      @harrisonsnellgrove8843 8 лет назад +1

      The discussion isn't "is pedophilia bad", it is universally reviled, even in cultures legally accepting of it. Pedophilia is directly and overtly referencing the lack of sexual maturity in the "victim". This is where the distinction in hebephilia and pedophilia becomes important. Hebephilia (mostly) assumes sexual maturity and thus is somewhat more understandable in so far as marriage and child bearing goes. We aren't discussing the morality of "child marriage", or even at what age a person is no longer a child. Here we are purely speaking on the victimizing of someone sexually and mentally unable to even vocalize consent in most cases. Pedophilia is exclusively a pre-adolescent victimizing disorder, and in being so the victims are most likely too young (see: pre sexual maturity= most likely brain function as well) to defend themselves or have an abstract thought on what sex actually is.
      So yes, while I'm a far left liberal (debatable) I do take issue with pedophilia.

    The reason there is and should be a “statute of limitations” is because information memories evidence necessary for accurate prosecution change over time. I remember an interview with Rowdy Roddy Piper in which he seemed to suggest that he was molested early in his career by Pat Patterson. He made it sound like it was a fairly common thing early in the WWE. It makes you wonder how many institutions this exists in.

    • @matthewhellmers225
      @matthewhellmers225 8 лет назад +5

      Jonathan Rose Not exactly, but at the time Piper was 18 or 19. He was legally old enough to consent, but consent becomes a little fuzzy when there is as much of a power deficiency as there was between the two at the time. Patterson was a much older man in a position of power over Piper's future. I get the feeling that Piper didn't feel like saying no was an option if he wanted to work in wrestling. That is pretty rapey.

    Many jurisdiction do not have a statute of limitations on especially heinous crimes, like rape and murder. Some states (the one from which I'm writing this, South Carolina) have not statutes of limitations at all. Any crime can be prosecuted here, regardless of the time passed.
    There were some very wealthy people involved in child molestation rings in the 1970s and 1980s, people with connections in contemporary journalism, in Washington, in the Justice Department, and in related agencies. When victims came forward to name names, they literally either wound up dead, or were destroyed by members of the media. A couple served prison time.
    The late Shirley Temple recounted stories of child molestation in Hollywood going back 70 years. Some things never change.

  • @15emjd

      @SuperDuperSentinel - I've wondered that too for years. One of MJ's nephews (one of Tito Jackson's sons from "3T") said he told MJ he was molested by a relative and said MJ cried and consoled him and seemed to know about that relative's inclinations. That made me wonder if maybe Michael had been molested as a kid by the same relative. It'd certainly explain Michael's Arrested Development and protectiveness of children.

    So basically I have a similar situation to Corey Feldman on a smaller scale. I have been sexually assaulted but not raped. The people who did it are well respected by many of my peers. One is my age (16) and the other is still in middle school. If I came out and told everyone what happened, I could potentially be sued for making it up (there are witnesses to it but they are either in denial or they are my father who has seen it happen but doesn't want to put in the effort to speak for me in court). I would also be in trouble by my family and countless people around me. Now I don't consider These people my friends but I have to pretend to be friendly with them for reasons I will not go into right now but trust me they are quite valid. I would have my life destroyed. People already have found out and think that I am a liar and others carelessly tell others the names of the boys who sexually assaulted me and don't consider that they are putting me in actual danger. (Cont. in comments)

    • @n.fer.2596

      For this reason I understood why he can't say names. Now a few people know the names of these boys and it has since gotten back to one of them who has tried to turn all of my friends against me. I think it has worked for a few but I'm not sure because I haven't talked to certain people. Now take someone like Corey Feldman. He can't tell nearly as many people as I since he is in significantly more danger. If his secret gets out the way mine has to some people, there would be a huge scandal. This man needs to be very careful and probably has to live in fear like I do sometimes so please let him be. He's doing the best he can.

    To answer your question Ana: There is a statute of limitations because most of the testimony would be based on eye witness and victim testimony which can be the least reliable; and most degraded over time. Eye witness testimony has placed many innocent people in jail.
    The statute law could be improved upon though.
    1. I believe that if there is collected DNA at or around the time of the event the statute of limitations should be ignored.
    2. The statute of limitations could be ignored in the event of a confession.

    • @snprshot2315
      @snprshot2315 8 лет назад

      THE statute of limitations also exists to try and prevent fabrications of accusations, where if someone gets raped, come forward with it as soon as you can, but give me a year or two and i can get dna, i can get my stories straight and i might be able to frame someone easier. also people will see me and say "wow after this time he needs justice" and may be more willing to prosecute

    • @carmay3600
      @carmay3600 8 лет назад

      nathan hois Yes that is why DNA needs to be collected around the same time as the rape. 1. So it is not degraded and 2. so it is not falsified. Eyewitness is the worst testimony. It sent Lenell Geter to jail even though he had an office full of coworkers who testified he was at work at the time he was supposedly robbing a KFC:
      "Only eight months ago the bridegroom, Lenell Geter, 26, was behind bars
      in a Texas penitentiary, sentenced to life imprisonment for holding up a
      Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise for $615-a crime he and his colleagues
      at a Greenville, Texas engineering firm swore he didn't commit. His
      case looked hopeless: Despite solid alibis provided by nine co-workers
      at his October 1982 trial, the college-educated, $22,000-a-year
      mechanical engineer was identified as the robber by five eyewitnesses.
      He was given a life sentence after the arresting officer, James
      Fortenberry, testified-erroneously-that Geter was a career criminal
      suspected of dozens of holdups in his native South Carolina."

He had no chance to develop the skills most people do during adolescence. He like so many 80s child stars has been stunted mentally.

  • @tOPjon1
    @tOPjon1 8 лет назад +3

    It seems the problem with Feldman naming names, besides the statutes, is this: Cory Haim is dead. He can't testify. Feldman probably knows many, or at least some who can presently testify to these things, but they are probably afraid, for their careers and probably their lives. But, that being said, his silence is irresponsible because he knows that it will continue to happen if those involved aren't stopped. And yes, it might cost him a lot, but soldiers go fight and die year by year for the most wicked causes, and we celebrate their bravery. Yet, any one of us is able to commit acts of heroics by making stands that will cost us: friends, jobs, money,... our lives. If not you or I than who? If we are unwilling to make a stand, then who can we blame for the injustices around us? Do we just not love our children enough to give them a world better than the way we found it? Here is a thought, and its an easy one: you want to end Hollywood pedophilia? Starve them out! Stop going to movies, stop buying DVDs, stop watching them online, turn off the TV, dry up their river of income that sustains their sick environment. And you know, you don't even have to give your life for it... its as easy as being just somewhat un-self-centered. Just a thought.

      But the thing is, he has a family. Would it be fair to drag his 11 year old son into this by association? No. It wouldn't. I see what you're saying, but the fact is; this is something that was forced onto him as a child, it's not really fair to put all that pressure on him to risk absolutely everything he's worked so hard for all his life. He's already done more for this than anyone else so far, and he already gets threats and needs a bodyguard whenever he's out in public. He's been nothing but strong and consistent with his claims since he first talked about it about 6 years ago. This is a losing battle for him. If he doesn't expose names, people call him a selfish coward. If he does name names, people will deny him the truth and the culprit will walk free, and probably spit on Feldman's recently dug grave. He can't win. But at least he's trying. That deserves a lot of respect in my opinion.

      @PeninsulaPaintings 8 лет назад

      Jonathan Machtemes But doing so would risk his very life, with no satisfying outcome. No convictions will ever be made thanks to California's statute of limitations.They most likely will kill Feldman for doing it too, and then his son would have to live his life without his father, so if anything; it would be better for his kid if he doesn't go all the way. Not to mention they would likely use Feldman's son against him, it could potentially put his son in immediate danger. These people aren't stupid, they would know his child is his ultimate weakness. I hope one day he gets the legal green light to go all the way, but I doubt it'll happen, the system is corrupt to protect the wealthy and powerful.

    I completely understand him not wanting to come forward. My biggest regret in life was reporting my rape to the police. It was the most horrible experience I have ever had (treatment by the police, not the rape itself) and most of my friends and family either didn't believe me or blamed me for dressing too sexy and walking through a parking lot drunk by myself at night (which, granted, wasn't that smart). But it was incredibly traumatic and I didn't even know my rapist. I couldn't imagine having to report a rape committed by someone who I knew personally, ESPECIALLY, being in the public eye like that. I think it's great that he's keeping the conversation going, but he should protect himself. The way the cops treated me and spoke to me, almost made me kill myself, and that's just police officers, let alone the freaking media circus Corey Feldman would have to deal with.

    Ana, the statute of limitations exist because after such a long period, the verification of evidence (and the defence thereof) cannot easily be obtained due to the passage of time. This violates a defendant's civil right to a fair trial.

    • @TooSweet444
      @TooSweet444 8 лет назад +4

      Shouldn't that be for the DA or a judge to decide though? If not enough evidence can be gathered then that's one thing, but why rule out the possibility of trying any of these cases? If the evidence is there then I don't see how lifting the statute of limitations would violate anyone's rights.

    • @jasong5913
      @jasong5913 8 лет назад +1

      Rebeka Fosit Well, first, it certainly should not be in the DA's discretion to decide. That would cause a huge ethical conflict of interest. Judges do not create laws and can not decide when a law can be in force and when it can not. Their role is to ensure that the rule of law and court proceedings are adhered to as well as to decide guilt in non criminal cases.
      Let me put it this way. If a crime had been committed, say, 30 years ago, do you think it would be easy to compile evidence in your defense? If you had an alibi, do you think the alibi could remember where he/she was at the time of the crime and what they were doing with you on that day over 30 years ago? If there were witnesses to the act that could verify it wasn't you do you think it would be easy to track them down? etc.
      We need to be careful not to make knee-jerk reactions in such cases (as much as I abhor the thought of defending the rights of paedophiles) so as to avoid trampling on the rights of the accused.

    • @TooSweet444
      @TooSweet444 8 лет назад +1

      Jason G
      Maybe I'm not savvy enough when it comes to criminal law but I thought the DA had the ability to decide whether or not there is enough evidence to prosecute. It's also my understanding that a judge can determine whether or not there is probable cause for someone's arrest. I understand that evidence is hard to obtain, or defend against as it were, after so much time has passed but if there is sufficient evidence then why shouldn't a person be indicted? This is all assuming there is no statute of limitations of course.

    • @jasong5913
      @jasong5913 8 лет назад

      Rebeka Fosit But the argument is about statute of limitations and not whether there is enough evidence to prosecute. You are right on both points - the DA has the discretion to prosecute and the judge is the decider of sufficient probable cause to issue a warrant. But neither is fit to decide statute of limitations. I'll give you an example to clarify.
      Let's say you are a young, aggressive, politically motivated DA that has a rape case in front of you that occurred 30 years ago. And let's say this is a high profile case that could help your political career. You don't have alot of evidence but you know there was one witness in the case who, from police reports saw a blonde, blue-eyed, 6ft tall man as the rapist. This description fits the description of the person you want to prosecute. But you are worried that at trial the witness may identify the suspect as definitely NOT the perpetrator. But you know that the witness has since passed away. You also know that the suspect's spouse, who could have provided an alibi, has also passed away. All of a sudden your case becomes stronger and a lot less risky. Since you, as DA, have the theoretical power to nullify the statute of limitations, you decide to prosecute because of the decreased risk in your case. The defendant has now lost the ability to call witnesses in his defense because of your decision. Do you see the conflict of interest? A similar scenario could also be present for judges.

    Improper sexual interactions need to be called out , it comes down to the simple fact that adults need to be aware that sexual interactions with young boys and girls can mess up their perception of what healthy sexual interactions are for those young persons

      Hes not talking about charlie sheen, hes talking about the producer that was on lucas, his name escapes me. In several interviews he gave hints to the mans age at the time and THE ONLY man who was that age at that time was the producer on the movie "Lucas", also Feldman is adamant that MJ never tried anything

    • @A86
      @A86 8 лет назад +18

      Wrong. Corey Feldman defended MJ in both trials and has always said MJ never molested him. In fact, he said MJ warned him about pedophiles in Hollywood. Corey sensed MJ may have had some kind of run-in himself.

    • @A86
      @A86 8 лет назад +7

      @ApesAmongUs - Dress him up? Kids voluntarily dressed like MJ all the time. Still do. No one dressed them up but themselves. Corey Feldman also testified in MJ's favor in both cases and has always maintained MJ never molested him and had a friendship with him until his death. Why would he go out of his way to defend his supposed molester in court? Feldman has implied his molester was some Hollywood director, producer or executive.

      Because the statue of limitations has run out. He would then be sued for libel. This is very often the case when young people and women are victims of sexual assault and rape. The victim is often not taken seriously by police and becomes re-traumatized. Three out of ten women will be raped every day here in the US

    I believe Corey Feldman. He needs to make the terrible decision between putting himself in considerable danger and naming these names to keep other children from being raped by these Hollywood people. Even if there is no prosecution then at least there will be a spotlight put on the rapists and people will know to keep their children away from them.

  • @davidspedden9296

    If these people had a clue of what they were attempting to comment about, they'd know that child stars of Hollywood won't name names because fear for their lives. Feldman wouldn't get to give a name and keep his life. It is still believed by most that Haim's death was a murder and not simply a self imposed death by drugs.

If you were walking around with a big secret locked away inside of you, wouldn't you seem weird too...

    If you're interested in these kind of issues, read about the Cia MK Ultra program. We don't know for certain, but a there is a school of thought which believe this was a program used by the elite to abuse young children in various circles (including Hollywood), through the use of mind control at a very young age. There are very subtle references to the program's activity during the 60s in many Hollywood films actually. Watch the Misfits and Alice in Wonderland. Both have an underlying plotline of a woman being swept along into a "strange world" and drugs/drinking both play a role in their descent. It may sound like a stretch and just a conspiracy, and I am very careful about what I believe with the program, because so little is known. CIA director Richard Helms had almost ALL of the documents describing the program destroyed when it came out. What is known for CERTAIN is that the program drugged unwitting citizens with LSD, sometimes for months at a time, to see how they reacted and how their personalities could be altered. Why? The program's ultimate goal was to convert Soviets and other communists into anti communist figures through mind control.

    I have always loved this guy. When he did Lost Boys and Stand By Me, the "Cories" were all the rage; however they were entertained and in contact with some of the most powerful people in Hollywood. He was seen in the tabloids partying with adults and he was still a child. I think that, added to the fact that it takes males a little longer to come forth than females, are what's making him reserved when it comes to naming names and downplaying his own assaults. He is a great dad and adores his kids, so I think the older he gets, the more forthcoming he may be. I think you can almost see it in his body language when it comes up in interviews, that he is not quite yet comfortable with the conversation. I completely believe him though.

    Rape doesn't have a statute of limitations in most places. And if it does, it mostly has exceptions if you have DNA evidence. Children under a certain age are also usually exempt from the statute of limitations (again, if they even have one). So virtually all of your criticisms are not grounded in reality.
    Besides, that guy said he wasn't raped, so I don't see how this is even relevant to this case.
