although the interior ceiling and wall painting is nicely done - albeit a bit too bright and should have been toned down to make it look aged.........i would have thought with a £12 million budget they could have at least purchased authentic antique furniture from that period to place in the rooms..........i visited recently and have to admit i was extremely disappointed at the lack of information on either notice boards or from the few or uninformed staff........i overheard one staff member telling tourists the tapestries were authentic originals - i had to chuckle..........why not just be honest and say they are copies?.....all in all if id have known all the interiors were fake like disneyland id have stayed outside on the perimeter and just taken photographs of the castle exterior itself to save on the entry fee for both interior and extra for parking (rip off) - then i'd have went to a local cafe afterwards for coffee and cake with the money i'd saved.......feel sorry for all the foreign tourists visiting scotland and being told lies or ripped off..........there are much nicer places in Scotland and "authentic" castles to visit.
Had great day out at the castle yesterday, looking forward to returning next year when restoration complete.
I am so fascinated with this castle!
