  • The initial checkout of a Uniden DECT 6 cordless telephone with digital answering system model D1780. This was one of the very last cordless models Uniden sold here in the US. It has exceptional sound quality and a nice array of features not found on the earlier DECT 6 models.

In 2013, Uniden released the D1880, which was likely the last model, adding talking caller ID to the D1xxx series. This can easily go unnoticed due to its rarity, and I didn't even know about this model until a few years ago.
For some dumb reason, toll saver is the default ring count setting. I don't know why. Everyone else uses 4 rings by default.
Another dumb thing is that it marks answered calls as missed. I have no idea how that was signed off, then again, it's Uniden and they got pretty bad towards the end.

Interesting, I've never heard of or seen that model before. I wouldn't say Uniden got bad towards the end, I don't particularly like the feel of the buttons but it is otherwise completely satisfactory. The calls are marked as New, not Missed. I don't like the way that works, but they've been like that forever.

Awesome video, Jordan! I do have a question: is the 17XX series compatible with the 14XX series? I may want to get a base from one of them, whichever has a better base, and then register an extra handset from the other of the two, so I can have both for less space/cost. Plus maybe one of the second generation waterproof handsets.

Jordan, something came to my attention earlier, Lenovo is selling Lasko products on their website for some reason at ridiculous prices. They wanted over $40 for a 3733. What is the reason for this? is there some sort of deal going on between the two?

the extra money was the "laptop cooler" feature THESE 3733s have. Lol idk but maybe just advertisements on the page?

I have absolutely no idea why they would have fans on their site. That is very odd to me. I can't imagine anyone would go there to buy one.
