@HUUInstantRegret They probably opened the door without knowing the bears were there, even though the dog inside must have sensed their presence. If I lived in a place frequented by bears and had to go out in the dark, I’d always check before opening doors and windows.

I let one of the feral that I actually feed out one night .When i opened the door, that bear had its face about 4 inches from mine. Because I had to unlock the door. And was leaning forward. The bear was on The top stoop. I stood up quickly and the poor cat was in the process of going forward and couldn't stop. He just have jumped about twenty feet over that bear and landed in the middle of the yard.
