I'm glad you speak about the only one Leica I got : the Mda that I use with the Ttartisan 28mm f5.6 + Fed universal viewfinder. As usual, thanks for your video and for the quick hack!
It doesn't happen to often you get amazed by something like this! Here it happened! And you took such nice pictures with it! Last time it happened was the H3D I think.
My Nicca IIIF has a Voigtländer 25 mm f4 Snapshot Skopar dedicated to it. Very handy for quick reaction composition, very lightweight, very high image quality.
Thanks, Matt. Now the prices of the MBs will be rising through the roof! LOL! I love the industrial look of the Visoflex. Now you can get rid of your SLRs. Not really. There is now a clip on meter with built-in rangefinder. It would make sense for the early Barnark(sp) cameras without rangefinders.
For the 1 1/2years I had a VisoflexII, I used nothing but the 65mm Ellmar and a 90mm f4 Elmar...Probably the sharpest photos I've taken with a Leica and what fun!
Nice and very interesting, never seen one before, imagine if there existed a swapable digital back you could also digitise your negs too! Sorry, just dreaming! Thanks for sharing.
"back in the day" copy machines ranged from non existent to very expensive: Leica had close up lens extension kits to give a pre - known focus distance and 4 legs that screwed into the extension that would distance the copied subject the exact right distance (for example) letter-size documents. Available for either screw mount or M mount camera/lens setups (BOOWU) and another kit for slide/negative copying. I still have my Leica (BEOON) and use it comfortably with the M11 camera. BEOON comes with a focusing magnifier to bypass any need for rangefinder focusing.
M 10-mono with old school Visoflex a 90mm Voigtlander APO and a few rings copies negatives to perfection. Matt, I have pictures of my rig if you'd like them. I'm not sure how to get them to you.
Would be interesting if someone could make a visoflex for film but with an EVF to go on top of this! Can you imagine, previewing your images on film... This camera is perfect for it (well any M Leica I guess !)
Are you sure you not just digitally erase it for the whole video? XD By the way, is 28-400mm with Nikon Zf too big as EDC? What lens would you recommend, my idea is 24-70mm f4 kit isn't that far from 24-120mm f4 which is the same size as 28-400mm hence might as well get the longest zoom? Will there be a Nikon Z camera with adaptor to make it a rangefinder with M glasses and SLR with Nikon F glasses? Seem like possible with the shortest flange distance mount just if they want to do it
I get you but it’s like saying why use a full manual Leica (or film camera) when you can just use a phone or full auto Sony. (There’s zero fun in easy photos for me so I like to make it more complicated).
Yes, and when they were replaced by much more convenient digital recording devices, they became retired lab trash and were given away for free to whoever was interested. Those were the days ... I have seen Focomats, MDs and other analogue equipment lying in heaps to be collected by the janitor. 😲 In that transition phase the resolution of digital images was nothing to write home about, the "real" photos were by far better. But the darkroom work was just too time-consuming.

Matt will you ever review the M1, I have one of those and I feel that no one talks about them at all, they're very nice!
Great video, Matt!
Thanks Greg!
Thanks Matt for promoting it as i have a boxed mint md-2 for sale on ebay at the mo 😉
Nice!! No problem haha. It’s nice to give these old cameras some love.

Great stuff! You pick the best Leica to have :). Good lens too, I have it.
best M ever made
I love it!

Yes great observation Tobi, sometimes cameras catch me totally by surprise and were never on my radar.
Matt, this series was designed for medical microscopy.
Leica still makes the best medical microscopes and microscopic lenses in the business.
Thanks, yes correct. I will use it with the Visoflex and for zone focusing.
Zeiss are easier and better. The Leica microscopy software and confocal microscopes are nowhere near the Zeiss microscopes and confocals software.
You beat me to it ☺️
These are specifically made for science and reproduction, both of which you don’t need to hassle of range finding 😊

Excellent combo Brian, I use that lens a lot on my Barnacks
Thanks, Matt. Now the prices of the MBs will be rising through the roof! LOL!

Haha no they are a desired taste I think but I love them! Yes I will be using my Nikon(s) less now I think.
Just ordered a top down viewfinder one for my Bessa L and skopar and the other a 40mm veiw for my mir 1
Nice! I'm loving mine!
Use my MDa with a voigtlander 25mm snapshot skopar lens and 25mm finder. Still has the original 'L' seal in the service port
Great combo! I love that lens too
For the 1 1/2years I had a VisoflexII, I used nothing but the 65mm Ellmar and a 90mm f4 Elmar...Probably the sharpest photos I've taken with a Leica and what fun!
Thanks Chris, great! Yes I'll likely be using the same :)
Interesting, very interesting.
Thanks Sandy!
Nice and very interesting, never seen one before, imagine if there existed a swapable digital back you could also digitise your negs too! Sorry, just dreaming! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! You can fit Visoflex iii to digital M too.
Not sure I'd ever get something like that.
Not for everyone for sure
Down the rabbit hole you went! :)
Again!! It's never safe

Thanks Stuart! Great to hear that you still enjoy using the old Leica gear too.

Thanks John, great stuff! No photo needed, I was using the 90 APO on my own V-III only yesterday :)
Leica MD Cameras was not made for "normal" photography, they was made for scientific use with e.eg a microscope.
I know but even more a reason to prove what is possible :)

Thanks Thomas, I think you wish list is a little too far ahead for now but nice idea! :D

pourquoi faire simple.... quand on
peut faire compliqué.... tout ça pour
rien... car au bout du compte les
photos ne sont pas meilleures

Now you just need a microscope :)
Haha yes!
Made to be used with a visoflex
Correct, you see in the video
A microscopy camera
Yes! Originally for the Visoflex. Now I will use it for street, landscapes, portraits, macro, travel...

Used on our University in the reproduction department with the 65mm Elmar.
