Alekna's potential is huge. At 19 he is performing at a significant margin above his age group and certainly is well-positioned in the current international field, as this recent achievement shows. Ceh and Alekna are bright stars for sure and we will look forward to seeing more great throws from both of them in the years to come. Just a reminder to the commentator below regarding world records: the discus world record ( 74.08 m / 243 feet) was set in 1986 by Jurgen Schult of East Germany. I believe that you are commenting on "winning throw in the world championship meet" - not the same as "world record".
pretty sure it was stated that Ceh set the world championship record and that Ceh & Alekna will be chasing the world record due to their ages. .
Been waiting since last night for your review. Watched it lived thank God! For once! Watched a lot of tired dudes looked like it. A lot of them just couldn't get the speed out of the back of the ring to get that left foot down in a good position.

Ceh has a good chance to break the world record. Bad day for Daniel Ståhl, threw 70m in the warmup and 69.16 in the competition which was later declared invalid after videoinspection. Alekna is amazing and just 19, compared to the others he looks a bit small only weighing 240 if if i'am right.
wow. didn’t know that about stahl. and yes. Alekna looks like he’s still gonna fill out. wait till he s 23-24. gonna be scary.
alekna is pretty small since he only dropped playing football at the age of 15 soccer becouse he was geting to tall and his father told him you better chose the sport for your genetics so he only been trowing for 4 years now and he doesnt take training to 100% since he is in college and only gonna trow discus for fun till he finishes hes study and also hes father told that alekna junior strenght is pretty average so he has a way to go on it and fill up some size but hes techniq is phenomenal this is everything alekna senior told on my country national podcast in lithuanian language

Alekna will have a lot of pressure to beat his fathers 2005 world record and new world record that was made today..
Virgilis had previously held the world championship record. but clearly Mykolas doesn’t seem to be affected by pressure. at 19 and a world silver. he waaay ahead of his Dad’s pace which is very scary. amazing talent.
