@@jettrojettro if you rewatch the scene in the soul society arc where ichigo first uses bankai, i like to imagine that the reason they showed rangiku and toshiro's shock specifically is because ichigo's reiatsu felt familiar to them :) its most likely not true, but its hard not to see whenever you rewatch the scene knowing that isshin was their captain

Echt Quincy just mean Pure Blood Quincies for anyone who doesn't know.
Also Rangiku and Toshiro knew Isshin and Ichigo were related but didn't mention it because they knew he had his reasons for what he did(W friends).
Where is that implied or mentioned? I don't recall it anywhere and simply assumed they wouldn't know because Ichigo's family name is different and Isshin, being a soul reaper, would know to stay out of the Soul Society's sight when they're on earth.

Clarifying some things for you bro: Ichigo got Rukia’s sword and before he awoken Zangetsu it was broken by Renji and obliterated by Urahara during training. When Ichigo activated his Shikai he just manifested the blade from nothing.
As we now know Quincies can manifest weapons out of Reiatsu !
so if ichigo realized this and was smart enough he wouldn't have gone through the sword dudes place?
@@IcarusViking Isshin isn’t surprised he got kicked out so I guess we can say that if Ichigo knew all this he wouldn’t have gone to the palace in the first place. He would’ve corrected all of this before. Next episode is going to be amazing. Everything is gonna come full circle
@@IcarusViking Narrative wise we need to go there so Oetsu can give is the audience the explanation of Zanpakutou and his role in Soul Society.
Even then I don't think at that point Ichigo know the full extent of Zanpakutou lore and knowledge let alone his Quincy heritage and all Quincy's power and history.
The thing about Ichigo is that he never actually bothers to figure out how his stuff works until he absolutely needs to, then he does a training montage/arc until he gets the minimum of whatever he needs to do to win down, then immediately goes to end the problem and doesn't go back to learning more until something makes him.
He straight up actually doesn't know what he's capable of or how the setting works and never really bothers to try and learn until shit's hitting the fan. He's basically a slacker, lmao. He knows what he's told/taught and nothing past that, but only because he doesn't bother to TRY to learn more when he doesn't have to.
@@Graysett It's not that he's a slacker, IMO, it's more that he's still a kid doing kid things in that phase of his life. He prolly doesn't have his priorities set up to where we (the audience) would think of them - i.e. he still considers school important, despite having literal superpowers and having been involved prior to the blood war in a conflict that could have went out of control to an extent of deciding the fate of the world.
Holy shit this episode was lit. That hollow looked and sounded awesome against Isshin. Ichigos boss helping him is a scene Ive wanted to see for years. Masaki looked really cool. Man the hour special next week is gonna be fire. 10/10

An important point in the manga was removed in this episode is that Isshin wasn’t able to use bankai due to the deep wound from Aizen.
It also removed a lot of conversation lines from Isshin and Rangiku about him being a member of Shiba clan.

I've watched a handful of anime only reactors while at work tonight, and only you and one other were able to piece each brick Kubo left lying in this episode before the Aizen reveal at the very end of the episode. well played sir, well played. This episode surpassed my expectations for adaptation by far, and easily better than the manga chapters imo.
The thing that's unfortunate about that poster (which I will not spoil) is there was really nothing else they could release as promotional material for the end of this cour.
There's basically 2 things that have potential for poster material and both of them spoil big reveals, so I guess they just went with the one they assumed a lot of anime onlys had already seen anyway just due to how big it was.
Side note: in the manga, Aizen and Isshin both mention Isshin's Bankai here, it's why Aizen attacked him, Isshin's Bankai apparently requires him to be in good condition.
It's possible they removed these mentions because they were a huge tease and Isshin never actually uses Bankai, to this day we have zero idea what it does

Another bombshell is the thought of wondering just how much of soul society knows what happened to Isshin Shiba - considering he's from one of the noble families well known throughout .. and recalling the reactions of the captains when Ichigo first entered Soul Society:
The mention of Ichigo's surname "Kurosaki", as well as the name of Ichigo's attack "Getsuga Tenshou" - which is the same name as Isshin's own attack.
You gotta think about it aizen was involved so it’s a lot he covered up with his shikai to stay hidden

Isshin Shiba and Kurosaki Masaki are adorable and I LOVE IT. Also no, quincies are a type of human with keen spiritual sensing abilities and the ability to completely erase the soul of a hollow. So they don't live in the soul society

Think of it like this:
An Asauchi is a blank canvas while a Soul Reaper is the artist.
After lots of practice, the artist manages to make the canvas truly reflect themselves (forming a Zanpakuto/Shikai). The same process for Bankai.
In Ichigo's case, he had no canvas to begin with, all he had at the time were paint and tools. He had been painting in the dark and wasn't clear about his true nature.
So he needs to go on somewhat of a soul-searching journey and only then will he be able to create a new artwork.

There were so many scenes that one could analyze. That scene where Izumi confronts Ichigo, implying he is still a kid and naive. Aizen describing white as: “Having a black armor, but called white due to the whiteness within him” because that hollow was made with the soul of a dead soul reaper and soul reapers purify and the color of purification is white. Among other things. It was an amazing episode.

The zanpakuto all shift to reflect the wielder. Both in spirit and power. The shikai is an expression of outward apperance. The Bankai is an expression of your true self, thats why it cant be fixed when broken. Ex, byakuyas swords bankai is just a greater version of his shikai, he has no distinction. Who you see is who he is. But yamamoto hid his bankai out of shame for the demon he really was. Its also why we never see Aizens bankai, we dont know who he is underneath the mask

Fun fact, this flashback of Ishiin during his time as captain takes place 200 years after Turn Back the Pendulum when Aizen hollowfied the Vaizard captains and Kisuke was exiled. And it's also 20 years before the present time events. So the captain generation Ishiin was a part of, some of them included Mayuri in his season 2/3 outfit, Byakuya, Shunsui and Juushiro as shown in the manga.
Turn back the pendulum is 100 years in the past, not 220. Thus flash back is 80 year ayer it ish
White reminds me of Vasto Lorde Ichigo and Tensa Zangetsu (pure black and the blade looks like the fullbring bankai blade of Ichigo's + from the looks of it White's form is focused on speed which is Ichigo's bankai's specialty)
Vasto Lorde Ichigo is actually White, fully controlling Ichigo's body when he's almost dead. you could see his yellow eyes flashing while transforming.

From what I remember, Rangiku will never get a Bankai because of the part of her soul that was taken when Aizen was creating his Hogyoku.

Also to explain Urahara says quincies are just humans who can see hollows “like Ichigo” which was also kinda foreshadowing there.
it's explained why Rangiku doesn't have a Bankai in Gin's Flashback when Aizen tried to create the Hogyuku he took parts of Rangiku soul and that's why Gin went on a path of revenge and tried to kill Aizen

Only thing I didn't like is that it wasn't really talked about that isshin was extra strong being a part of the Shiba clan, like Byakuya and Yoruichi. Plus, obviously Ichigo would be related to Ganju, Kaien and Kukaku to my understanding

A soul in bleach isn't necessarily a dead person but another form of life. Many of our shinigami were born as souls and it is the only form of existence they have ever known.
Now it kinda makes senses why ichigo is always on shikai mode, that is zangetsu. He didn't have an asauchi. well he did, it was rukia's. the one she stab ichigo with. I think after byakuya broke it, and urahara too in the training before soul society it just stays in zangetsu form, cause the asauchi is broken. and that's why it never came back to that huge original form. that's what i think.
Nah. He just created his zangetsu all by himself, every time. Remember, he is a quincy, they make their own weapons, how they want to. He never used his own soul reaper sword, that's why the asauchi didn't choose him. I don't wanna spoil u that much, but all of ichigo, that we saw til this point, was quincy powers. That's why he need to know his roots.
Echt quinces are just pure blood quinces and since they were extinct or very few quinces left they want to keep the pure bloods alive and not risk they’re deaths. it doesn’t have to do with high and mighty.
