Brixham Trawler Race 2010

This is some video I shot from a large Dutch Trawler whose name escapes me. If anyone who was there knows, let me know and I will give the boat a credit. This has never been uploaded before so, if you were there and want to revisit 2010, have a look. The camera I used was a Canon T2i. Pretty good for the time but with a lot of movement and vibration it was subject to distortions caused by something called "Rolling Shutter" - and by the boat's engines!

What an amazing event enjoyed by hundreds of people. Another event killed off by HSE.

I agree with your first sentence though you could have said thousands rather than hundreds. But I wouldn't criticize HSE as its actions save many lives throughout our industries.
The trawler race had an outstanding record for safety and I believe that , if the trawler owners were minded to do so, they could convince the authorities to reinstate it. But that's only my uninformed opinion and it would be good to hear from those with more informed views.

@@Stanthebop well nuffing wrong with the ships, but if there were an accident, then many could drown seein' as most Brits cannot swim and no life jackets

@@stuarth43 One year I was in the cabin and I heard the skipper being asked over the radio how many people he had on board and how many life jackets he had. There were enough to go round.
