It is so nice to see kids learning about how to survive with what nature provides! Great to see all of you again!
Enjoy your style of filming so much. The TV show was great, but I prefer your down to earth approach without the dramatics. 👍 ♥ 🍄 🎄
Your children are getting a very good education. Thank you for bringing us along.
Alaska is so beautiful
I love that you're teaching your children these wonderful foraging skills.
It’s like hunting Easter eggs! ❤
That's exactly how we feel, only better because once they are in the freezer or dried they last a long time. Unlike old Easter eggs. Lol those start to turn after about a week

Ii love Findlay's enthusiasm, "Did you find the mother lode"?
- How do you guys not get lost? Did you leave trail markers or have you grown up in this forest 🤔? Great video. *It would be better if you did a pick && cook* 🍳 🍄.
I wish you showed you cleaning and cooking the mushrooms!!
I'm jealous. I live in the UK, and you can't really do mushroom hunting, but you can forage for berries.
Miss the cooking and horse segments, but do good to get caught up on your lives❤

Thanks for returning my faith in people. In these digital times we must go back to nature and picking mushrooms is so relaxing. And those kids seem to be fully in it. We need generations like this if we want to thrive. 🌿🌿🌿
Keep them coming Do you can any of the mushrooms
Easter spring

I used to go with my dad and get wild asparagus and morels under the apple trees in Michigan. Made a good feast❤
Adorable adventure
The children are so at home in the woods! I love mushrooms too. With Aloha...
You guys are so wonderful with your children!!! God bless your whole family!!!
A bit of a kitty kat, LOL. I meow sometimes right before a big hike if it is raining and nasty out. I can totally relate.
👍💙✌️thank you for sharing
What a adventure!
It's wonderful to see parents teaching their children 8)
Mushrooms!!🍄 😎
Here from outdoor boys channel
What fun!
The amanita is the first mushroom I learned to stay away from. I was little and said "Ohhhh... pretty🍄" and Mom said "Don't touch! It's a death angel". LOL, I haven't thought about that in years😊
Depends how You use it. Ancient shamans were using strains of Amanita for their rituals. Only one which I think was not used was the gray/green one because even with boiling too much toxins are left inside.
@@DubultaisT Mom wasn't an ancient shaman 😁
I just found your content. I was a huge fan of your old show. It’s super weird to see you. Use an iPhone because the show definitely portrayed you guys as a little more primitive because of your location so they never showed you using a folder or or anything like that, but I think that was, a theme of the show like they were trying to portray you guys as this rare thing
What kind of hardwood trees were in that area?
I wonder what app they used. This is a great video.
spore printing and always when you think its a good one just try after cooking a bout a thumb nail size piece, wait 24 hrs ..
Is that where you took Eve deer hunting years ago and one of her first hunts?
Love walking in the Woods and pick mushrooms
can dry them or freeze them?
How much of your family's diet is derived from hunting, fishing, foraging and gardening?
Is there a certain way to pick a mushroom? Do you leave a root?
You pick the while fruiting body. Some people believe they should be cut and not picked. But I don't know if this is true
Mushrooms don't regrow in the typical sense of a plant. They don't have the same type of root system that resprouts. They repopulate off of spores which become airborne after the mushroom has reached full maturity or near it. Which is one reason people that pick mushrooms often use mesh bags that breath so they spread spores as they pick the mushrooms and walk around. The mesh bag also keeps the mushrooms from getting sweaty and slimy like in a sealed plastic bag.
Iven the Mushroom app is very handy
I have yet to find a mushroom app that's accurate. I bring a book along for I.D. purposes.
Is the Sound a Temperate Rain Forrest?
Yes
What’s the app called
I like "lala land"....🤔
❤️🧡🩷
What about the bears?
I have never fun into one yet, however I am still prepared with a pistol it was just not visible in the video.
Cool video but you left out cooking them!
Sorry about that
I don't remember anymore the name of your daughter
It’s Sparrow Rose.
Sparrow
Hi Eve, thanks.
Kinda shocking you aren't teaching saftey. If not for your kids but for those watching . Definitely not a good idea to touch unknown shrooms. Also your supposed to cut from the stalk so they can regrowth. Not just rip.out.
I was taught that you can pull mushrooms as they do not regenerate from a cut stalk they grow from the spore. If you have crinkled forgotten mushrooms in your cupboard or fridge go and crumble them over your lawn in a place where it gets overnight dew and you can start your own mushroom garden or get a pack of mushroom compost and sprinkle it over your lawn there's usually enough spore in it to cultivate some mushrooms from it.
You harvested too much mushrooms, could you please Share some to me!
