A girl I loved was killed in an accident that happened right in front of me. Ironically, she was also the healer in our D&D group. This retriggered the PTSD I already had from childhood due to my Dad's death in a plane crash and, as I've finally come to understand, that I've struggled with all my life. This last year almost ended me, with work pressure coupled to the PTSD pushing me to the lowest place possible., Matt's vocals conveyed that emotion so well. Thanks to a decent counsellor I'm on the way back, and discovering this bunch of nerds through the tv show (and, damn, they remind me so much of my friends and our old group) has been such a delight - bringing back a lot of happy memories of our own campaigns and real-life moments.

Such a gut shot to inform the fanbase “No, you actually don’t know everything that’s going to happen. Even the main cast isn’t safe.” I remember how almost trivial Anna’s defeat felt, and Matt likely had this whole plan of mass producing weapons to feed the demon in his back pocket. So to have Percy fall to her and then have Matt literally tell the fans “That’s not how it’s supposed to end” in this scene, really drives the point home. Abandon your assumptions, in this timeline, all bets are off.
I bet they will revive him before the seasons finished. There will be stuff we dont expect, but that will be more like vox machina being only 5 when they defeat thordak and storylines being combined into one. @@BE4RSH4RKT4PUS
When this started playing I had to pause and just sit there for five minutes thinking to myself "is that fucking Matt Mercer singing?" this song is gorgeous and it made the moment so much powerful. I would sell my souls to orthax just to get a full three minute version of this

They made a point of having Ripley tell him (and show him) that the guns steal souls of victims. His soul is trapped in the gun probably, defeat her/recover the gun = Percy's back.
My current theory: there will be Res magic they find in Raishan's horde. Only it won't work because his soul is with Orthax and saving him will be the hook for season 4
It was brought up in the campaign but the mirroring of the Briarwoods with this is so tangible. Mercer absolutely killed this. I hope the future, ‘How Do You, Vox Machina , Want To Do This?’ moment is just as good.

That said is if they decided to kill him off it would be a very bold and interesting change.
Yeah, he’ll be resurrected somehow. Leaving him dead would be way too big a change from the ultimate outcome of the live gameplay. Changes thus far have been to give extra depth to characters or make things flow better in an adaptation.
