I want everyone who can enjoy a hobby to enjoy it, including the existing fans. Ostensibly, that's what new fans want too (or so they often say, but perhaps they're just trying to justify changes they're biased towards, to the hobby, and don't actually give a fuck about existing fans). If a huge influx of new fans are so annoying and ignorant that existing fans can't enjoy the hobby anymore, then everyone is very much NOT enjoying the hobby anymore and all that has happened is that new fans have commandeered it. So, new fans should have to engage with the hobby as it was before the trendy changes that attracted them, reflect on whether the core of the hobby is actually something they like, and either adapt, filter themselves out and not engage with something they don't actually like, or be humble and don't pretend they love the hobby more than they do.

Unfortunately, others, who care more about "The Message" than anything else, managed to maintain their positions. These same "fans" look at the Imperium of Man as a good thing as if they'd be a Space Marine if they were born in the setting, but in reality the Imperium is the most brutal, dystopian and authoritarian regime in human history and they'd be more likely to be a factory laborer who is worked to death by 40. The only justification for it is because hell actually exists and actively wants your soul. Not to mention that the current Imperium is the polar opposite of what the Emperor wanted it to be. Spoilers: he wiped out all religion on Earth including what was left of Christianity. Nearly everyone sucks in the setting, which makes figures like Ollanius, Vulkan, and Ciaphas Cain that much more special.
