Been making this since 05/04, and had excess in a jar with only a muslin and a jarlid with hole in it, have left it till the jar alone has cleared and its one of the best wines I've ever tried. Wow. Thanks
The 1gal lot is has almost fermented dry it's well worth the wait!

My gran used to make dandelion cordial by soaking dandelions in cheap brandy and a bit of honey 🍯
And as I kid I would sneak and drink it and fill the bottle with water 🤣🤣🤣

Amazing tips. I have learnt a lot from you, thanks buddy. I just spent over £200 on brewing equipment and ingredients so I'm brassica, but next month I will definitely join your club. You deserve a bit more credit for your fun videos and valuable information.
Love to you and your family mate.
    Kind regards,
    Tom.

I just set a gallon of dandelion wine this sunday. I removed the petals yesterday. I used Mangrove Jack M05 mead yeast (I make lots of mead) because it's a high ester-producing strain that ferments even at lower temperatures. IMO it also matures faster.

Generally my favourite yeasts are from Lalvin. Their D47 and 71B. I do a lot of fruity brews and these both enhance that in my opinion.

You don't want to pick them all from one spot, or from small areas of green. Pick them from large fields and pick them over the whole field rather than one spot. They're important for pollinators and birds eat the seeds.

I use alcotec 48 turbo yeast when I'm brewing that gives me a 14% alcohol in 48 hours or 20% in 5 days

I read a shocking article today about an alternative yeast nutrient called Marmite!
I just put a whole tablespoon in a 5 gallon brew. See what it does to the yeast tomorrow..(or what the yeast does to it.)

I need a bit of advice. I started a batch of dandelion wine on 5/26. It’s now 7/5, and I never bottled (lots of family matters altered my plans). Half of the batch was fermenting in jars with sack cloth attached over the top, and half was placed in demo-john with air lock. They both finished fermentation several weeks ago. Is there any hope to rescue this batch of wine, now (more than 5 weeks after fermentation started)? If so, how? Thanks so much!

When you decide to use a non general purpose wine yeast how do you decide what strain to use ? I’m just about to start experimenting with different strains in some wine recipes I made a few years ago with general purposes yeast that were really good , just to see if paying £3 or more per gallon is worth the investment.

Brilliant video it was one of the first wines my dad made that I stole and got drunk with my best friend in the farm field where we lived. I have been collecting dandelions from my garden and freezing them, as I can't find "clean" ones close enough due to the lock down 😢 but I'm going to try and find enough nettles after your last video. Have you tried eating the nettles after you've made the tea? They are very tasty and nutrional spinach like and now stinger (formic acid) free. I have a liquorice wine from roots maturing in a demijohn (waiting for corks to arrive) then bottle and I have been enjoying some carrot wine following your recipe. Take care you three and pets, kind regards Mike

We have nettles alot during the spring / summer months, full of tasty goodness. Had some with dinner last night. Nettles grow really well up here, so I normally compost the ones from the wine and pick fresh for dinner!

Could you substitute the sugar with honey to make a sort of dandelion mead? Or would it turn out odd?

Is the boiling water critical to the recipe? I recently made a one gallon batch, and it has been slow to start fermenting. I was wondering about bacteria on the petals. I used room temperature water.
