A superb example of how the best military vehicles collectors can put together a unique collection of weapons that really run and have Engine’s or a single diesel engine that works well!! Your own modeling abilities are first rate. The very best work for RC tanks. I am also a model builder myself but now unfortunately am getting a bit too old for the type of detail my tanks usually receive so I just enjoy them for the sake of the quality and reliability they all have. My newest is one of those Heng Long pre built US. M41A3 Walker Bulldog Professional edition all steel and metal alloy parts with a 65% degree moving Turret and 40%degree elevation of the Cannon at the same time it’s moving anywhere or in anyway at all. I’ve added a better smoke generator and twin diesel V8 engines that work and the engine compartment lids too show them off. They add vapor exhaust too the smoke fan to the twin mufflers tail pipes. I have just binge watched the entire series having discovered your channel. Fantastic project and one I wish to emulate one day. Incredible attention to detail. You must have found it hard to decide when to stop adding more. Cheers from across the pond!
It looks really good. On a slight variance I have 2 late 50s/early 60s automoton Bartenders who despite their years still emit smoke from their ears after 60+ years.

I decided to scratch build one after watching this video and bought some hard to come by parts from ECA which John has and sells and casts. His Tanks parts are awesome and greatly accurate and detailed!!

Great model but the smoke it looks like a fog. It would have been nice if he had a fan which was synchronized with sound and changes its speed, or just a fan to push smoke, it would have looked more realistic.
You are doing a great job with these models keep up the good work.
if you want to gear to the tank you can use the elmod ... and you can do even more sounds at the same time

if you can, take a look at "Tiger Tank" by Ford. That has MANY pictures of factory fresh tanks and the tanks in the field.
That is such a detailed model! The only thing i would change,if i had the skill,would be to add a fan to the smoke system,that blew the smoke out in synch with the speed the tank was travelling rather than just that constant 'waft'
there is a fan in the smoke system, and it is controlled by the sound system. This is disscussed in more detail in the previous videos of this build.

Hello. Have enjoyed all the videos. Only 2 comments. No 1 would be the location of the Aerial as in the position it is in if you rotated the turret 180 you would snap the aerial off and lose communication. No 2 the lack of Coax gun. I was in the British Army in a Tank Regiment. (Not quite as early as this) and our Aerials were on top or the side of the turret. And we always had the Coax fitted as it was also the "Ranging gun" for the Main Gun. The one one top was not an Anti air specific but as the only one that could point high enough and swing fast enough I can understand why some thought that. Keep up the good work. +ANDREW CULLEN On the tiger I the antenna is placed on the hull where it is on the model. If I were to move the antenna base the model would be inaccurate. This is why on the real tanks the antenna base was rubber so the antenna would flex out of the way if the turret was turned.
As for the Coax, on British tanks the Coax was the ranging gun, and the second MG was for AA use, similar to US tanks where the M1919 was used for the coax and the M2 was for AA use. However on German tanks the AA MG34T was either the bow gun, or at times the coax. the crew would move the gun off it's mount and place it on the roof when not in battle. Also with the design of the tiger's mantlet and interior MG34 mount The coax MG34T barrel would not extend out of the mantlet and was a very flush unit, unlike British tanks were the Mag 58 GPMG barrel would be visible. On US tanks The tip of the M1919 would also protrude slightly from the mantlet.

Thank you for that. I was trained on CVRT and Chieftain Tanks and the rubber cone at the bottom of the Aerial would definitely not bend that much. And the .50 on the Chieftain did stick out and main use was as the Ranging gun for the Main gun. Andy C
+ANDREW CULLEN Because the radio is located in the turret on British tanks they didn't need to be as flexible, The German WWII tanks always kept the radio in the hull which is why all WWII era german tanks had hull mounted antennas. On the earlier PZII and early versions of the PZIII and IV they had a retracting antenna mount that would fold away when not in use, this feature was dropped when the rubber mount was developed as it required less tooling and machine work
The British developed the ranging coax post WWII, and if i'm not mistaken I believe the first British tank to have that cleaver feature was the Centurion. For german and US WWII AFV the coax was intended for general use. for ranging that was done with the vane sight and range finders.
Dry cool tank. Makes me think of designing one big enough for 1 person to set in an actually drive it. I need a lathe & vertical mill. Are a water jet cutter. But before all that need to hit the lottery. Ugh

Question, why have you not fitted the outer roadwheels, am aware that when the werhmacht moved these impressive machines by rail they had to fit narrower "Transport Tracks" and sometimes remove the 4 outer wheels, to see the correct configuration have a look at Jingles Tiger day 2015 vid, regards
+Phil Parr The outer layer of road wheels are found on tanks with the early pattern rubber rimmed road wheels. This is true for tanks of the early and mid productions. You are correct when the tiger was developed for transport use you would remove the outer layer of wheels remove the side skirts, flip up the corers of the mudflaps and install the thinner transport track,
However when the war went on the road wheel design was changed to the stamped wheel versions that you see on this tank. With the change of design the extra layer of wheels that were found on the earlier pattern of tanks were deleted. This was done to save time and resources, as each tank uses less material and maintenance to remove a wheel or get access to another wheel is quicker. Also with this design no extra layer of wheels can be added.
In addition with the wheel being mostly steel and the rubber tire omitted rubber which was a scarce resource could be used for other projects. The redesigned road wheels were also used on the Panther, and King tiger. All three of these tanks use the same wheels, which again save on material usage, and standardizes components which is a big plus for maintenance . Even the PZIV towards the war's end had a steel pattern wheel developed

The tow cabels are wrong. They had them hooked up to the front of the Tigers, ready to be towed if they had a problem or got hit in combat.
That's a field modification / feature, not something that would be done at the factory

2) de ne pas regretter de conseiller ARMORTEK aux visiteurs qui me demande où acheter un tigre similaire à celui que j'ai construit

Can this be refited with working gun ? Fireing real but blank(dummy) shells ? There is enough room in turret to acommodate such thing i think? :) Also Great Work done on Tiger..
Yes it can, and has been done in the past, but for this build the customer wanted the flash system and will not be changed

Pretty great but the rear sprocket looks a wee bit too high, and the track teeth are missing the holes.
The rear idler's height is correct, This is due to the smaller size of the late tiger's rear idler wheel. Early production tanks had a larger idler wheel. As for the teeth like what was mentioned below the reason why the kit lacks the holes on the track teeth is because this would weaken the teeth and they would not be able to hold up to the wear and tear of RC running
Could it be then that the model doesn't replicate the effect of the weight of the tank, which would make the whole thing sit lower, thus bringing the idlers down towards the road wheels? I'm looking at photos as I write and the tracks don't slope upwards before they reach the rear idlers*... as you no doubt know, Tiger suspensions were under greater stress than they were designed to take.
btw - I see the same thing on the early tiger you are working on, but that's not fully loaded up yet is it.
*edit: sometimes they do, a bit, but usually they don't - I guess the suspensions gradually sagged over time.
no compression to the exhaust just kinda floats out but otherwise looks awesome

Armourtek has the SdKfz 251 on their website and I was wondering what batteries and receivers it would need
you will be needing 2 12V Batteries hooked up in series circuit. As for size and amps that depends on the location and space you have in the model. As for the radio that info would be best by asking armortek direct or on a post on their forum
Hi oddball I am considering getting a Armortek King tiger just wondering how much battery run time do you get ,and your models are awesome by the way .
With the lead acid batteries that I was using at the time this video was filmed I was able to get about 20 min of runtime, however I noticed that after a few charges the run time would decrease. I since replaced these batteries and went with Lithium Ion batteries from www.lithiumion-batteries.com/ and now my run time is over an hour.

Check out their website and gander at the prices of just the parts and that should give you some idea. If I was to take a guess, I'm thinking in the neighborhood of $10K if not more???

dude,sorry for wigging out in part 17, but i was binging on the awesome work and detailing of the Tiger, but i found the paint vid (obviously!),OK< i get it,i wonder why he wants it clean... alot of them never survived late war to get dirty. dunno...awesome work tho
@@pzkpfwivfreak2473 Actually he wanted it clean as he's an artist that was going to do the weathering himself, and just needed a blank canvas to work on.
okay then, some folks just dont have the same skillset as others.BTW, do you know someplace that i can get 1:25 scale deck screens and roadwheels for tamiyas old Jagdpanther? i know it may not be in the scale you work wit but any help would be appreciated as the tamiya roadwheels are meant for remote control operation, i'm guessing, because they are pretty wide...overly...

Black Cobra What do you consider a realistic cannon? this tank has a tamiya style action with a strobe light. Blank systems in the past have been problematic and are not seen often anymore in large RC tanks.
oddball759mm That's the problem, the cannon needs some smoke and the retraction rate needs to be much faster to simulate proper firing action. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Tiger, but I just feel the gun isn't adequately realistic enough when shooting. I consider when a person is willing to pay big bucks for such a sweet toy, it should be fully worth it in every possible way imaginable.
Black Cobra The only way to get what you are looking for is to put a real gun in it. There has yet to be any simulation gun that replicates what you are looking for. The real gun can be done, but has some hurdles (both engineering and legal) to go with that route too. The recoil system in the tank is the one that comes with the kit, and most people who purchase these models go with the kit system
oddball759mm Where there's a will there's a way. Maybe a company will develop a more realistic firing gun for RC tanks. -Hopefully soon.
+Black Cobra $100 buy an airsoft pistol it powered by gas also got a nice recoil bolt back system. But this Armortek kit with full set price $10,000 ... LOL. And this Armortek recoil kit also very expensive... :)
