That poor chap, I hope he’s okay. It was lovely to see him giving Spud as much fun as he could in his final months. How heartbreaking to lose him so soon.
Watching cancer take a human member of the family is bad enough as it is but watching the same happen to your furry four legged friend is another level of torture
just learned 2 days ago that 1 of my dog has cancer ... and vet gives him 2 months ... cancer is everywhere in my baby and i will need to put it down in next weeks ;'(
My angel cat Ebony had a really aggressive form of cancer, her vet thought it was the asthma getting out of control again, but he was proved wrong, I'll always miss her. I hope Chris is doing well.
I'm only 24 but, I lost my rottie of 15 years when i was in high school. Parents got him when I was 2. I think about him often. That dog was FAMILY. Got him cremated and his ashes sit on the fireplace mantle of my first house. RIP Sammy.
My beloved Tonka, diagnosed with bladder cancer. Given a month to live. Put her on Barley Green, and green tea extract. She prospered for 7 years. Also cleaned up her food. Gave 1teaspoon barley green in her food as well as green tea extract two times a day. She was chow and golden retriever. Apex 75 lbs. Best of luck to all who receive such terrible news. I pray for you all.💕
This doctor is so kind. His bedside manner is amazing, he hugged him, was professional, just seems a top guy. When my mastiff got diagnosed with cancer they essentially said “oh well he’s 6 years old. That’s pretty old for that breed. You don’t want to euthanise him? Oh okay, good luck.”
I'm sorry you got a robot for a vet. I just today found out my dog has cancer. It's devastating and it's hard not to ask why, why this dog. I'm sorry for your loss and for the lack of empathy you experienced.
Omg, I am in tears. I am so sorry for both, Chris who lost his best friend, and Spud, who had only such a short time here on earth. Although it is quite some years ago, it is heartbreaking.
I absolutely love Noel , I've always watched supervet for many years. Sometimes I cry during most episodes. He's the kindest guy out there who understands the love we have for our pets
Lost one of our two cats almost a year ago now, to cancer, believed to be SCC. Went for a checkup as she wasn't eating properly, kept chewing for a long time after coming away from her food bowl, had very miserable behaviour, was frequently growling and becoming aggitated and lashed out and scratched quite frequently, spent all day hiding away from everyone and would rarely ever approach us. Checkup discovered a swelling or tumour in the side of the cheek, and the vet stated her teeth might fall out. Just over 3 weeks later the swelling had got larger and she had a big "puffy cheek" on one side, that stuck out in comparison to the other. She was eating virtually nothing, and would have a little nibble then come back 1 hour later and have a bit more, then another 2 hours later a bit more. During this second visit the vet conducted a physical examination of her mouth and the right side of her cheek and it began to bleed heavily, he stated that it appeared to be a cancerous mass and at this stage there is nothing that could realistically be done, he stated she would probably survive for another 3-4 weeks and would probable die around christmas 2021. We couldn't bear her suffering any longer and the same day had her euthanized, spent 15 years in the family and was with us when I grew up having got her when I just started secondary school. We still have the other cat which we got on the same day, although from a different litter, still going healthily to this day. RIP.
I work in vet med and we have a saying “it’s always the sweet ones that get cancer.” My own dog was taken from me at the young age of 4 by lymphoma. He was the friendliest little guy I ever met, a happy little spaz when around people. I tried chemo, but he just wasn’t responding to it and he got worse, so I got him out of pain by sending him over the rainbow bridge. I miss him every day, but I find comfort in knowing that he had a baller 4 years because of me.
How awful for Chris. To have that bond (which anyone with eyes can see) and to have managed to get yourself back on your feet with that bond to support you, and to lose it is just heart rending. And that sweet dog was far too young to have such a horrible disease. He had so so much love to give and just wanted to play, even with his cone still on! We lost our lab to cancer, it was super aggressive and basically made a paste out of her upper jaw and front of her skull. We had to have her put down because she couldn’t breath and it was bloody awful. Cause even though she clearly felt rubbish, she was stoic and loving and sweet as she had always been. Still wagging her tail and wanting love. Dogs are too good for humans. And we don’t get to keep them nearly long enough
A cancer diagnosis is even more devastating in a pet that's too small to even attempt any kind of treatment to enable you to have more time with your beloved pet, that's the situation I was in with one of my budgies a few years ago who was having trouble breathing, go to an avian vet expecting it to be an infection but no it was a huge tumour impacting on the birds air sac & that was that, the only option was to put her to sleep.
As sad as this story is, there's joy in it too. Chris and Spud brought happiness to each other. Spud had loads of love during his life, and he felt needed. When it comes down to it, isn't that what we all want out of life?
I lost my cat to cancer 6 years ago 6 weeks after I lost my Granda it was a seriously tough blow I needed him and cancer took him but we done the right thing I didn’t want him to be in any pain even if it meant my heart broke even more I love u Tom I hope ur having a blast up there
The love, joy and goodness our animals give to us lives in our hearts and souls forever. Despite the fact that sadly, they cannot. 😢 love you Tanner, miss you my dear friend. You are with me, always. ♥️
Having had to make the decision twice to let my beloved dogs go, I feel so bad for this man. It’s heartbreaking especially when he spoke about his dog being like his son. Dogs - they are the only creature that loves you us more than themselves.
I know exactly how you feel. Four years ago, we made the heartbreaking decision to have our dog put to sleep. There was a mass on his brain and he was deteriorating fast. I know we did the right thing, but it didn't make it hurt less.
As the luckiest father to three Westhighland White Terriers I dread that day every day. It’s very difficult to know it’s going to come so I tell them and show them they’re loved every day, so they can leave me knowing they did their job. Dogs are only here to give their love unconditionally asking nothing in return but they deserve every ounce of love they show back. We are so lucky to have them in our lives and I for one am very lucky. 🐾❤️🐾
lost our beatiful Lab to cancer at 8 years old. He had a tumor behind the eye, which we had removed, looked great again when his fur grew back and it gave him another year pain free. Unfortunately it spread (cancer) and we had to say goodbye in July last year. In tears watching this however, as it is clear to see that Chris loved his dog and vise versa unconditionaly. I hope your good Chris and wishing you the very best in the future
I. Just lost my half staf of 15yrs old last Sunday a female rescue dog she started getting lumps around her stomach took her to vets they were willing to operate but the same day I got a phone call from vet saying her heart was abnormal and it was risky to continue surgery I felt hopeless then the lump shrunk so I was grateful for this but later on just out of. No where the lump tripled in size it was the size of a water melon I took her back to vet but wouldn’t do surgery I had no hope at all they gave her a tablet but it did nothing then my elder son accidentally saw her lump he said mum you’ve got to go to another vet it’s so huge so I took her to private vet hoping but he said she needed surgery but she might not survive so I took her back to her original vet and I had the shock of my life the vet said she’s got cancer and it’s spreading I asked if there’s anything they can do he said no keep her comfortable the next day a puppy was brought to my house which my son found my own dog was quite dominant over the puppy but the following day which was a Sunday my dog got much worst she could barely move and when she peed the smell was bad and the color was dark brown I knew it was the. Cancer but as my dog layed in her bed the puppy went up to her and started to continue lesy was her ears and face I’ve never known such a thing it was like the puppy knew she. Was dying we had to take her to emergency vets as we couldn’t leave her in this horrible state I layed with her before she went crying so much I was unable to go vets with my son as I knew I would be in a mentle state as over 10 years ago I had to do the same have my dog put to sleep it made me so ill that I had a nervous breakdown so I’m thankful for my son and daughter taking complet charge over this it’s been a week since I lost her and I’m still so emotional I pass by the park she went in it just breaks you down emotionally I know we have a puppy but nothing can replace my little angle
This is why we need to stop cancer not only does it take our mothers our fathers our brothers our sisters our children and so much more it takes our dogs and our cats and so many other animals fuck this illness
My 16 year old boy was diagnosed with a squamous mast cell carcinoma in the bones in his face. Surgery and treatment wasn't an option at his age and with the location of the cancer. I decided to euthanize the same day he was diagnosed. He lived a good life.

Dogs are the best thing in this world.
What about Tao Lin?
They sure are too! Except for cleaning up after them.
.. prefer them to humans..
I wish dogs lived forever. We don't deserve them
I wish mosquitoes lived forever. We don't deserve them 😭
So true. We do not deserve dogs, nor they us.

We had a loving dog that died from cancer. In the end, my mum made the painful decision to let her go. We love you, Beau.
I hope Chris has found comfort in saving another rescue -- Spud would have wanted it that way.
if not Spud will give him a sign when its time
We need more people like Noel in the world. Genuinely caring of not only animals but their humans too ❤
