- Once the Aspect of Wisdom, Malthael abandoned heaven after the Worldstone’s destruction. In secret, he had resolved to end the Eternal Conflict by becoming a Reaper of Souls and eliminating everything affected by demonic corruption, including humanity. for like a week 2 week's tops what we really need is more ranged assasins with built in percent health damage to stop this dual an tri tank comps but i'll be maining maltheal mostly cause i don't play tychus so i needed a percent health assassin in my kit

finally get a character people are asking for for so long and yet people still complain. if it was kel'thuzad who was announced people would complain thats its "heroes of the warcraft" gotta feel bad for the devs sometimes

that being said = we need a fly/float mount, just as he moves but faster, might even add up a bit of ghostly animation when taken the mount speed at lvl1 in addition :)

Arthas may be top tier, but he doesn't FEEL top tier. He's only top tier from numbers. His actual kit is boring.
I almost never see him played, so... no? I never said his kit wasn't useful. He is an old character, and his abilities feel just as outdated as the older League of Legends characters were (/are). The only thing about Arthas that feels epic to use is Syndragosa. Everything else is pretty tame.
Arthas144 arthas has no ability about death. But Auriel and Leoric do.

wtf is that ugly design of reaper's mark .. a blue ugly sticker that covers most of the marked hero .. the glow effect was more than enough
Notice how the mark is ACTUALLY the soulstone he collected in the video, the very same shape, AGREED though, I also think it should have some opacity or put it above the heads of opponents lol
Thank God this is getting upvoted. Blizz needs to address this. I couldn't stop being frustrated at how opaque and cluttered it looks.
I can't believe I needed to scroll to the bottom to see that somebody else noticed the photoshop sticker as reaper's mark. I hope they change it. I agree that the glow effect above is enough to show reaper's mark.
It's great, because it's visible. I wanna know if I have a goddamn Reaper's Mark on me, and when I play as Malthael, I wanna know every one who has it. Putting it above heads would block view. I like this. It's visible, it's simple, it's actually looking pretty decent.
It should just be a sicle, or a skull, or just the glow, we don't need a big icon in addition to the glow.
His success depends entirely on his marks ? seems like a casual student to me

Hey, Stitches is cool. :( It's fun hooking people who can't get out into pockets and just feasting on their anguish as they sit there in a hole, getting smacked and pew pew'd by your team. (I do this all the time in Versus AI when I have bad day's and don't want to get worked up over rough PvP games.)

He lools boring tbh. Cool character to be sure. But his gameplay style is all percentage based DoTs. Basically a really lame auto-attacker. Not fun at all.
He is going to struggle to kill anybody before they kill him 1v1. His value will be applying DoTs then rotating out in fights and if your against anyone who can shield, which cancels DoTs, he is useless. Just no impactful abilities.
He is similar to Necrophos in Dota, you don't particularly want to focus him because he doesn't do huge burst damage without his ult and can be deceptively tanky from his heals, but at the same time if you ignore him the damage he deals in a prolonged fight can really stack up. And how is he going to struggle 1v1 when he has what appears to be a super short cd heal from marks? Don't forget that the mark is just his passive, he still does regular auto attack damage on top of that.

Yeah, but his base AA damage is so low and his heals aren't strong enough to keep him up. The are more for sustain. Making him slightly more useful at staying in lane against another hero.
His heal only has a 2 second CD. That means you'll be using it several times in a teamfight, and it makes his dual potential pretty great as well. If you walk into the enemy outnumbered, then yeah, the heals won't save you, but if you play smartly, they should keep you alive, especially if your diligent in marking multiple heroes at the same time.
I haven't played Dota 2 enough to know how Necrophos works, but for those who played League, his playstyle reminds me a lot of Vladimir, where he doesn't do that much up front damage, but ignore him in teamfights for too long and he will completely shred entire teams and come out alive due to reasonable self heals.
genji: assassin that requires attention and hopping on a target as soon as the opportunity presents itself and has a bit of a skill ceiling
malthael: just autoattack people and ult them to kill them for all health you just autoattacked from them

I had an idea for a hero with an ult that dealts 100% of a hero's max health in damage-over-time and can inflict statuses on a target that hurts healers who heal them and instantly thought of Archimonde with the Pit Lord's Doom ability

He's SOOO squishy. Even with the 2 second Q heal spam. Play him like you'd play Greymane. Go in, deal some damage and get out. Don't get caught in a losing team fight because you'll go down fast.

last rites 15 seconds?! may seem long but when you're in a match, it goes by like a flash
you have to kill people alot with it to get it down that much
in reality Last Rites doesnt kill as much as you thought , they mostly die from the mark

Honestly the coolest thing about HOTS is they can turn anything into a hero no matter how minor they are in the lore. *cough* Probe *cough*
Aidan/Warrior/Dark Wanderer, Jazreth/The Summoner, and Moreina/Blood Raven (although there is a Sylvanas skin of her coming soon).
You know, there do seem to be specific voice lines in the files for prime diablo where he seems to talk to leah even if she's not in the game yet, so take what you will from that
I don't have any sources so correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that they already want all of the Angiris council in HotS. The other prime evils should also be there though.

You guys are misunderstanding how Last Rites' cdr works. The cooldown is permanently reduced if the target dies *before* Last Rites damages them. As an example, if you cast Last Rites on an enemy hero, and then one of your allies immediately bursts them for a kill, then its cd is reduced. It's reduced if they die before it hits, or in other words, if you use it too late or don't anticipate an ally's damage. I tested this myself.
I hope blizzard never adds Kel'thuzad, just so I can enjoy your guys eternal tears.

No need to worry. Once his basic attack has been made into a splash, damaging multiple targets at once, he's become amazing. And clearing the camps is also much easier now too! He has many options and it depends on the player how they're going to use them.
it amazes me how quickly they can turn out new heroes with extremely unique abilities I guess it helps having 20+ years of games to pull from.

Anthony Nwachukwu yeah I thought so at first but notice the aoe's radius , it's very small and enemies can just move away from it.
He's meant to counter warriors and bruisers, who are mainly melee or extremely short ranged. So they tend to cluster on objectives or on targets. Anyways his wrath strike helps in move through the battle and tormented souls is a reliable way to apply your mark for your soul rip healing, letting him sustain the fight.
