Advice for year 7’s • try to stick to a few of your primary school friends but always make new friends as you won’t be in the same classes as all of your friends most of the time • be confident but don’t be ‘bratty and snobby’ • DONT try and be cool. Be yourself • be kind to everyone • stay away from drama which you aren’t needed in. And that’s about it
My teacher is always saying don't try getting into drama on purpose, when it comes you'll want to leave the drama behind ;) And I'd never imagine trying to be cool, me and my friends are quirky, and we don't care what other people think, as long as they don't hate us to the core ;)

Being in Year 7 and going clubs and parties are one of the biggest crimes to comit and my mum and dad would kill me if I was in Year 7 and go clubs and parties
I'm going into Y10 but I would say to any new Y7's here just be you and do what you want. I've been through many an odd phase over the past 4 years, especially in Y7. I just kinda did me and yes, people judged me but at least I enjoyed myself. I definitely regret stuff but I was 11 and honestly, everyone does.
My advice for year 7s As stated in a previous comment, DO NOT ASK OLDER YEARS WHERE UR NEXT LESSON IS If ur playin football or something, and the ball goes to a year 11, ask kindly for it back, otherwise they’ll probably just boot it away Don’t act cocky or things like that because the yr11s wil literally knock you down If you can get ‘packed lunches’ I would definitely recommend that. As the year 8/9/10/11s will just push in the lunch queue and it takes like 30 mins just to get ur lunch And that’s it rlly, btw I’m a yr7 rn just giving some advice for the upcoming yr7s as everything that I stated above has happened to me (Sorry for bad English)

hey i have some extra tip. you may think this is bad advice but trust me it is the best, youlle make the most of highschool if you take this advice -- in class, behave! listen to the teacher and follow the classroom expectations, sit next to a friend or if you dont have one in that class, try and make friends with one on your table -- however, at breaktimes, you can be wild! once you make friends with people or are with your friends from primary, dont just waste your tome standing and talking, or being antisocial. Do some dares, have a few waterfights but try to not get seen by teachers. You can literally have so much fun if you dont just stand around or be anti social, trust me its fun it's something to look back at when your older!
I’m actually starting secondary school but this is some advice that my older sister gave me and I think it will be really helpful advice 😊 : Don’t throw anyone away, don’t base everything on first impressions because you never know they might have been really nervous, or just made a mistake which humans do lol, get to know people before u judge them, who knows u might end up being really close friends :) xx

You could very well meet your newfound soulmate, and have someone to go to when in times of trouble and spend time with, having fun, doesn’t it sound nice? Start small, talk with people you are comfortable around and that you know. I had my doubts when making friends, too, but my best friend put me out there which is how I met my friend group. Be open, get to know the person, ask them questions about their interests, maybe you guys share something in common to connect with! Take small steps, any decent human being would be understanding of your anxiety. Finally, and most importantly, be yourself, be the best you, you can be, I’m sure you’re a wonderful person anyone would like to be friends with, Good luck!

Im a year 9 student and trust me, year 7 isn't scary. I will admit in the first few days I went to school when I started year 7 + transition day I didn't have any of my primary friends to talk to and I was alone most of the time. I hated those days so much that I actually started to feel sick to my stomach but as year 7 went by, I started to like it overtime :)

So I've got a question. I'm starting Yr 7 this year and I have really bad anxiety and trouble with making friends and I don't talk a lot because I have been bullied all my life and get scared when people make fast movements thinking they are going to hurt me. But people always think I'm weird because I don't talk a lot :/ so since your in year seven or passed year 7 have you got any tips?

Klaudia elezi It’s okay! First, you have to develop a good, mental image of making friends, like thinking more about the pros of meeting new people rather than the cons. You could very well meet your newfound soulmate, and have someone to go to when in times of trouble and spend time with, having fun, doesn’t it sound nice? Start small, talk with people you are comfortable around and that you know. I had my doubts when making friends, too, but my best friend put me out there which is how I met my friend group. Be open, get to know the person, ask them questions about their interests, maybe you guys share something in common to connect with! Take small steps, any decent human being would be understanding of your anxiety. Finally, and most importantly, be yourself, be the best you, you can be, I’m sure you’re a wonderful person anyone would like to be friends with, Good luck!

The high school itself isn’t really the problem. It’s the fact that all my memories from elementary is now gone and I’m left with the memories as I push forward in the next step in my life I really can’t handle change that well.

I’m in year 10 this year, and just saying, year 7s, DO NOT ask an older student where your lesson is. They send you to a different place for a giggle. Do NOT act hard, or even talk/ show disrespect to the year elevens. They possibly won’t beat you up, but they’ll make fun of you.

Im a year 9 student and trust me, year 7 isn't scary. I will admit in the first few days I went to school when I started year 7 + transition day I didn't have any of my primary friends to talk to and I was alone most of the time. I hated those days so much that I actually started to feel sick to my stomach but as year 7 went by, I started to like it overtime :)
