💛
Is it me or this guy is pretty fond of At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta?
There's nothing wrong with that at all.
The last song on A Manual Dexterity is not the only instrumental on the album.
Where's the mention of Bosnian Rainbows? That was a killer first record.
Did he MAKE the albums in 2016 and 2017? I thought they were just RELEASED in 2016 and 2017 after being on the shelf for many years. I cold be wrong but that's what i heard
For me a fair comparison is Omar and Frank Zappa. And i know Zappa is Zappa but Omar is also a prolific and good musician.
I really like your channel, that's why I'm more dissapointed by this. I would'v really liked if you had covered some of the most monumental creations of ORL, like Xenophanes, Solar Gambling, Apocalypse inside of an Orange, Un Escorpión Perfumado, Cizaña de los Amores or Se Dice Bisonte, No Búfalo.
How does a person keep current with what he’s up to? A month or two ago he played with Dante in Atlanta I think. Had no idea; I would’ve liked to have went
Cryptomnesia is one of my favorite records
Just wanted to let you know. Actually he wasn't one of original members of at.the.drive.in. but other than that. Damn good job on your videos. 👍
Nevermind. I spoke to soon. Lol. I watched the rest. Good job bro
This channel is deceptive because it implies that Truth doesn't like music as well, which it absolutely does.
It would be cool to see you do a video on buckethead or some of John frusciante’s solo albums. Great video btw.
Hello !! I would really like to know from which song is the riff we can hear at 1:12 ,
Thanks in advance ☺️
Inertiatic Esp during the verses. It's a two parter so it's best to hear it directly after playing Son et Lumiere. Great opener to the Deloused in the Comatorium LP.
Marco Mares Thank you so much !
As a youth, his uncles, who were musicians themselves, put him on percussion to learn rhythm, then moved him to bass to learn scales, after that he was able to play the guitar to its full potential.
Atdr had more commercial success than Mars Volta? I always thought the opposite, I don’t remember atdr playing arenas but I could be wrong idk
52 solo albums?!
would be great to have some sources mate :)
not because of skepticism but to dig a bit further ;)
The Bedlam In Goliath is THE BEST! Fight me about that... If you dare.
do glassjaw plz
Xenophanes, Cryptomnesia and Calibration. Check those out if you haven't already.
Please, for your next videos, reverse the background/foreground colors. It's blinding. Please use black background with white lettering/graphics.
Omar’s great, BUT a lot of the “52” albums are not much to listen to. Also, yes the ones you pointed out are freakin awesome!
To be fair, the string of solo albums was mostly unmixed projects created over the years. Still a lot of music in a short time in my opinion tho...
I love The Mars Volta, At the Drive-in, Antemasque, DeFacto, and Bosnian Rainbows (and Le Butcherettes, which he is somewhat involved with to a lesser extent, he at least plays with them live sometimes)... And i've seen all of them live except (believe it or not) The Mars Volta (one of my greatest shames)... But I have never been able to crack in to his solo albums. Can anyone recommend anything? The few times i've tried it just doesn't live up to everything else up on offer by his other projects
I like Old Money and Cryptomnesia more than Octahedron. Ciencia de los Inutiles, Apocalypse Inside of an Orange, Se Dice Bisonte, are all up there too.
@@iroveashe thanks so much for the recommendations!! I made this comment 10 months ago and totally forgot. Now I have something more todo while self isolating this weekend. Gracias Señor
