- Just recently found out my grade for all this work (recently being July 2018) so I though I would add it to the title. So pleased with my result because I do put A LOT of time in to what I do. Hard work pays off I guess. Any way hope you liked the video, thanks for watching.

I love this so much but Jesus Christ this made me depressed about my own book haha, good job I have summer to improve it all
This is making me feel so bad for my art A level... I'm in my second year and we haven't done nearly half this much!
A feast for the eyes on virtually every page. Brilliant.
In Ireland we legit don’t get to do any of this stuff... in the first year of secondary school we’re just told that the body is 8 heads high or whatever... we haven’t painted once, and I’m going into my final year... we weren’t even taught how to shade or anything, I’ve had to teach myself everything I know, and I definitely know I could’ve reached a really, really high level if I had any guidance. Such a joke of a country 🤷♂️
that sucks, but its really good that your teaching yourself anyway
I’m from London and I had the exact same thing - we just weren’t taught anything and we didn’t know about anything to do with art. With painting, they’d just chuck a crusty watercolour set at us and we’d just paint, not knowing any actual techniques and not understanding anything about watercolour or painting in general or art principles. There were no trips or emphasis on writing, research, etc....basically no teaching involved whatsoever so I just had to teach myself (I was the only person that got above a C in my year group, because the department just couldn’t give two shits). I guess it really comes down to whether you’re stuck with a shit teacher/department or not, which unfortunately was my case. 😑
Adam O'Leary Everyone, even the people in these GSCE classes, has had to teach themselves. Generally speaking, art classes (especially in high school) don’t actually teach anything, but instead let you practice and experiment in order for you to learn everything yourself.
In America, GCSE doesn’t exist. We don’t have any art intensive classes, until university. It’s interesting to see what art curriculum looks like in the U.K.
Adam O'Leary art is basically teaching yourself , I was never taught, all the gcse students weren’t, and I think it’s better to teach yourself otherwise everyone is stuck in one position and has no creativity and independence
I'm doing foundation art and design and I still don't know how to draw, shade, colour theory, use materials etc. And oh boy here's my final unit coming. If only it could look like this
Your watercolour work is fabulous... I'd buy one of those works off you if I could!
Emily you are a genius. Love love your work. Congratulations
Awesome work. Some great pieces and wow what a keepsake. Thanks
I love this. It will be an awesome keepsake. Never let it go ! The final painting is amazing. Thanks for sharing
Ayyy Manchester! 😂😂Jk I love your art and I aiming to improve as much as you! I am currently in year 10.
Edit-omg I did the exact same study of the mark Powell work where you did the eyes and a bit of the face on the other side of the flap🤯
What an incredible book! Just stunning 💚
Absolutely incredible work there!! Just wanted to ask, where did you get this sketchbook?
I'm in year 7 and my art teacher said if I carry on doing what I'm going I'd be ready for GCSE art in a year!
In year 7 enjoy yourself it really doesn't mean much.
what did u get in ur art gcse
This is absolutely insane!!
This is making me so excited for A level art. What exam board are you with?
What theme was ur component 1? It looks amazing! And i love the component3 very nice idea
Saw your comment on someone elses video aha, work is gorgeous and I loved the commentary! Subscribed x
What did you use to photoshop your images? Everything turned out so great!
Absolutely love your work . Though , I was wondering what you write for the annotation of the pieces ?
Thank you so much
we have to write about:
why we choose to do the piece
what inspiration we took from our artist
what worked well and what didnt
how does it explore the theme
what will you take from it to develop further
This is a amazing, where do you get your ideas ?
What are the clear plastic sheets called? I’m going to buy some I think. I passed my gcse art three years ahead of everyone and now we’re starting a levels in September and everyone expects me to be prepared. I’m scared though not going to lie
Acetate, you can get it at the range or hobby craft (or probably any craft store) ☺️ Good luck with your A levels!
How do you make the black splotchy backgrounds. They are AMAZING!! (:
I just use acrylic black paint and use water to give it that inky effect :)
Amazing work love it to bits xxxx
Im in year 8 and my GCSE mark is already a four so im definitely taking art !
Lettia Brown I’m in year 8 and one of the top in my class among others 👌
@@ellierecine your school is probably shit
Lettia Brown why would u say that
Wtf guys, stop being assholes. She’s in year 8. She’s 12. Getting a 4 is a huge achievement - it’s difficult to get higher at that stage. Keep it up, and you’ll be hitting those 8’s and 9’s in GCSE for sure. How is it going now? Hope you’re doing well. I’m proud of you :)
I am envious. I was never this good or diligent in High School.
Beautiful!
Ur work is amazing wow!!!
hey, i have just found your video as i’m looking for ideas for a new theme what theme was thjs book? x
bruh insane
Wow!
thanks.... your user name amuses me
What is that transparent film on your charcoal/ graphite drawings?
acetate i think x
can u give some tips on the writing part of gcse art
ok, how old were you when you did this again?
How do u draw so well? How do u improve?
Just a lot of practice
Hey Emily! Where are you from in the UK?)
I'm curious what portfolio, book this is or what you put over the first two pieces
when we were making our portfolio we just picked our best pieces and pages to use from our first year work
Can u please tell the details about which sketchbook have you used?
We had to buy our sketch books from the collage shop and I don't know where they get them from, sorry
@@artwithem6635 oh then i hope i get these too my college is starting from tomorrow
Exciting, good luck
Where did u find the time??!!
Do u get marks for those first few pages of tonal work?
Zakkiyah yes
@@bluegiraffe200 do u still get them if it's not relevent to ur work?
My art teacher made us do observational drawings of random stuff (from secondary images) that have nothing to do with our theme so I was a bit worried I won't be credited
Will the teacher teach how to do it
Such a beautiful sketchbook!! I've just posted my a level sketchbook and would love if you checked it out😊💕
I’m doing climate change for my theme and need 50 photos. I’m struggling with photos to take to really capture climate change… does anyone have any ideas?
