Very nice sister, I think you are learning Excel course or M S office, in advanced excel if you have office 2003 or next version we can use FLASH FILL ... Just write the first name in first column select below cell and press Ctrl + E for FLASH FILL no function no hadack... in some o/s no need to select blank cells you can just place the cursor on blanc cell area

Flash fill is only available in more recent versions of Excel.. and besides, knowing functions is lot more appreciable interview point of view than a feature.. u could be specifically told not to use flashfill and instead do it by using left function. What do u do in that case? So that's why, knowledge needs to be there

Much easier way is just by typing just the first name in the second column. Move your mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the selected cell. You should see a small black square, which is the fill handle. Double-click the fill handle. This will automatically copy the formula down to the end of your data,
