Just doesn't feel the same without my boy the NPC stoner guy standing in the background
Go Try Again 😂😂😂😂
Maybe if the bass player would hit a vape now and then...
LOLOLOLOLOLOL yup need his side quest missions or it doesnt feel the same
hahahaha
SO TRUE!!! LOL. barefooted and bobbin
The bass player strikes me as someone who makes really nice canoe paddles as a hobby.
I'd buy one.
bruh 😂😂😂😂
@PeytonsPawPaw 1 he makes all the cool
Shit! 🤣🔥🌲
lmao!!!!!
EpiC
This is so clean that it kills 99% of most germs on contact. I only discovered this guy yesterday and I'm hooked. It wasn't even my style of music. But it is now.
Holy cow!BigSilverBear, whatch been hearin? with a name like that if not bluegrass ,NORDIC,Native?Classical, blues,r u a jazz man?u gotta feel me N.i have All Ways had a connection with any man/bear.if you still ,be live ME,I had crush on Grizzly Adams, when I was a little girl, hell STILL do!
@@mannothingtolose1245 what…?
LOL.... Right On !!!
He's got enough online to keep you going for awhile..
Cleaner than the inside of a chlorox jug!
Two older experienced wizards being blown away by the younger clean shaven wizard’s skills.
Why am I so late to the party? Never heard of this dude til yesterday....
He’s like 24 so you are right on time!!!!
Don't feel bad, I just found out about him a few days ago playing with none other than the amazing Tommy Emmanuel. I think my comment went something like, "And, I thought Tommy was good"
I found him a few days ago also. No regrets either. This isn’t my genre type but I can not stop.
youtube just randomly suggested this for me...lol...
same tho, this is REAL country right here, not that POP crap.
Started watching this and realized I am now holding a jug of moonshine, wtf?
J D underrated
😂😂
lol
Use your one phone call to contact your daddy
J D 😂🙏🏼
Billy somehow broke the algorithm cause he’s every where I look know!!
Well deserved.
Me too dude. Accidentally stumbled upon him 2 days ago.
Well deserved indeed!!!....flat picking madness. Inspiring as hell
I dont mind. Crazy how I never heard of him
The algorithm is specific to you...
dude with the bear paw hands shredding on the mandolin is a legend. To be able to pull that off with fingers from the 60s is just something else. got mad respect for gentlemen with hands like that.
My daddy had big ole hands like that, wore a size 15 ring...I sure miss seeing those hands.
Proud to mention the awesome bass player, Kevin Gills, is an old friend.
cobblerama he’s Amazing
He's damn good at what he does
He killed it! Kept that solid foundation going without breaking a sweat, I can tell he's great at what he does.
cobblerama, It's crazy, he looks just like my good friend Dave Secord from Kansas who also plays a mean bluegrass stand up bass. Like they could be twins ! Wow.
If hes ur friend...buy him a shirt..the one he's wearing needs replacing
When some of you younger folks get older , you can say that you first watched Billie strings on youtube when he was just a kid. He is going places! Without a doubt.👊
Damnit that couch vid either damned him or is a blessing
I dont even argue with the algorithm anymore.
Right
Same same
Jesus dude you’re so right it’s sad at least he looks he’s in a better place in this video haha
I'm saying; I've been loving DM3, crust punk, Ben Tod, all these young talented pickers and groups for years but suddenly Billy is popping up at last like some Mandela effect. He has a good hollerin voice aside from his obvious skills
For many years now I have believed that billy is the best I have ever heard play a guitar, and I am 65 and have played music professionally my self for many years. And him and don go together like fine wine and ladies
That dude playing bass ain't no push over either he's damn good
god damn rite. that stand up aint no joke to play.
Kevin Gills
Was trying to figure out why they gave him no credit?!!
Makes me want to pick it back up!
Ya he’s Amazing for sure
Some say that if you say 'Dust in a baggie' three times into a mirror, the green shirt guy will appear.
While others say 'He mostly comes out at night........ Mostly...'
That is freakin' hilarious!
Got two movie references in there. I'll give a thumbs up.
Mate what a great comment
No idea why RUclips pushed Billy Strings my way, can't stop watching now, guys so talented.
Maybe it's pushing him because you can't stop watching
You tube: OK OK I get it, only Bon Scott AC/DC.
Also you tube:
Dust in a baggie
The couch edition.
Ikr?
Jesus Christ who let the 3 most talented country musicians find each other. Not fair, share the wealth.
This isn't country music. It's bluegrass!
@@jaydeus when you're right you're right
you're watching it, right? on a free website? there's your share lol
That's not country
Blue grass is a sub genre of country so it can be called country i guess
You know you have the hills in your blood when "sin" has 2 syllables every time you say it!
@throathammer1 is... Bee leeve yun.
❤
And yes sir is pretty much daily use and only one word
No it doesn't
I swear I've listened to this so many times and I've shared it so many times this is cleaner than Studio takes and it's just them jamming out in the woods so good Don julin is a treasure
How could anybody give this performance a thumbs down? Picking 1/16th notes and not one sour note. Amazing.
The musicianship is top notch for sure, but bluegrass/country is not for everyone so there are bound to be dislikes. Doesn't change anything one way or the other so why bother fussing over it?
not a SINGLE stray note .
Because they can't hear or have no taste in music..are the only 2 logical reasons I can think of.
You don't have to like it to appreciate it.
They can't anymore 🤣
I did 5 years for some dust in a baggie I lost it all glad he wrote a song about it!
So this dude literally blows up in 3 days whem hes been around for the better part of a decade. Wtf
You've been living under a rock apparently.
Literally?
No one who blows up organically blows up over night thats delusional.
The internet is a moody bitch man.
He has been big for a while, just the bluegrass community doesnt get much attention unless you are a part of it. But he has for sure gotten the recognition he deserves. Also headlines festivals all the time.
No matter what type of music you like, you know talent when you hear it. These guys are awesome.
"I used my only phone call to contact my Daddy! I got 20 long years for some dust in a baggy" is the most honest, southern, punk rock lyrics I have ever heard...fucking love this song
These two (3) FOREVER go together. I cannot have one without the other.
Nothing like acoustic mountain metal to start the day...
Shannon Nunn truth
And you are so correct my friend
I just love his goofy facial expressions. He pulls it off like a boss.
“The Dude” is playin the hell out of that mandolin!!!
jack black
Don Julin and he literally wrote the book on how to play mandolin
@@jamesgriffin6657 the man is BADASS!
Thats just like your opinion man
This is my happy place!
I don’t even like country or whatever the genre is. But this, this right here, is what it’s all about. GOOD STUFF. Will be watching this closely as a hardened metal head.
proper folk music/Americana/bluegrass.
Same here dude, I’m huge metal fan and usually not into country at all but these guys are fucking awesome!
Not country but the same vein. Closer to Bluegrass and Americana.
... but now you like it too!
I LOVE that the internet seems to have brought ppl of all ages together.
No one cares if youre not 21 yet and the older crowd dont care if the others are 19! I hope it continues to break down that barrier, because we're all headed in the same damn direction and every1 has a ton to offer and a ton to learn.
Just Macaulay Culkin, Peter Jackson and George R.R Martin making some sweeet music!
Perfect. Just perfect.
😂😂👍👍
I thought he looked like Kevin bacon lmao
Lord of the Strings
Do you realize you just about killed me? 😂
This guy needs to be RED HOT famous, RIGHT NOW!!!!
And that is how the Gatlinburg Forest Fire was started kids!
But it was NOT how the great chipmunk fire of 1979 started.
Thu
That’s nothing to joke about. Ppl died
there was just another started but the rain put it out
One of lifes great injustices is that wonderful people and musicians like this don’t have a wider audience. If this music doesn’t strike a chord with you then you’ve led the wrong kind of life. Immigrants are immediately attracted, which speaks to the soul of the music. There are no boundaries for real.
AS A LONG DISTANCE TRUCK DRIVER I LOVE THE TITLE “NO MORE PAPER LOGS”!
That's why I watched the first time also!
xsentrik what does it mean?
Back in the day everyone used to log their hours by paper. And about 90% of drivers wrote a happy fiction. Now we are electronically leashed err logged.
Chris Welch lol thanks ☺
@Douglas Fontenot My father pulled doubles till he decided it wasn't for him. First truck I ever rode in was a 55mph Schnieder Cab over International. Might have been 10. Now I pull a tanker and live it when my E-log takes a crap on me.
Although the nearly week without sleep runs the older generation were known for probably helped with all the regulation we have now. Can't really blame them to much. Trucking is performance based and well... Running none stop makes you 💰
This man on mando is an absolute legend. And he looks the part. Amazing combination. Couldn't count the time spent listening to this, especially repeating no more paper logs.
Never listened to this type of music, but for some reason youtube recommended it to me, and now i cant stop watching😂
Look into mountain sprout and devil makes three (skip their latest album) for even better bluegrass
used to love punk. now i know this is punk. thank you based god.
I'll be here all day, probably tomorrow too
Billy strings , can you father my children
@@daleoriane6974 Yes, it's me, Billy. Send me your address.
I live in Canada, pretty sure none of you are allowed here
I'm from a quiet little town in the corner of England and i have only just discovered how much I fucking love this music!. I can't stop singing and dancing to it. I feel like I could really immerse myself in this culture and love it. This is easily my new favourite type of music.
Can't decide if I'm more impressed by Billy Strings' guitar picking skills or his voice
You don’t really need to choose only one, y’know! 😉
BRAVO BRAVO.....now thats how you WORK for your sound .....if your not sweating ....your not playing ....this is a masterpiece
The pipes on that guy are unbelievable, that transition between the two songs was ridiculously smooth too. What a jam session it must be with those guys!
5:38 when the vocals come back in I get chills every time. Also, that bass player is rock solid.
Cant believe this is my first time hearing about billy strings
@Scowl Face Same here. He's one of the next big things for sure. Him and Marcus King.
I found him in early 2019, I am opened up to a awesome genre that Alison Kraus brought me to 20 years ago, but this guy and Molly and AJ keep me here ... check out "Little Maggie" live from Greyfox with Molly Tuttle ... it's sublime.
Don't feel too badly, you got two months on me!
Holy cow the country music stations need to play this guy non-stop
First thing I did when I woke up was come right back to the video 😂 this might become my daily routine
Me to lol
You really are gonna be here all day
Mind... blown... I think i'm digging country now.
Hmmmm you account looks framiliar
Bluegrass really
This bluegrass hoss
Reall bluegrass. Some artists and songs can really blur the line between country and bluegrass, but this isnt one of them imo.
it's bluegrass
Fell down the RUclips wormhole, stumbled upon Billy Strings. Johnny Cash would be proud!
I cant stop watching Billy. Man that voice blows me away
The dude abides the mandolin.
Best comment here
Yeah best comment ever!
I saw several of Billys videos..Dude is BADASS!..Im from northern Indiana..I wish Id have known he was from Michigan..Id of looked him up to jam...My uncle is Bud Dingus..He played with bluegrass well into his late 80s..I saw them record a show for a radio program in West Virginia..Im still struck by how flawless the preformance was..the engineer walked in ..the guys were asking..need us to overdub anything..guy laughed at them..NO WAY!..its perfect...reason I mention it..He could play ANYTHING (Ive witnessed it!!)..fiddle,mandolin,guitar,Bass,banjo and panio ..I honestly believed my late uncle was reincarnated as Billy Strings..Ironiclly..my birthday is 1 day after his..hes is the 3rd of October..Mines the 2nd!
MAN..US LIBRAS SEEM TO BE SOME GUITAR JAMMING MOFOS!
I wish music like this could be more recognised. God bless you Billy
Wow a 3 minute 50 intro and this is a song made by Billy Strings i just watched a minute ago, country music has growm on me so much in my adult hood. This is tight as you like. Peace from The UK.
I'm excited to see where Billy Strings' career takes him in years to come. I expect him to be touring the depths of TN down through TX for the next 50. Best Wishes!
I am impressed...i have been tryin to pick like this for 40 plus years...and have a long way too go....
I like how it bleeds into the song after almost 4 minutes like it's only been the intro.
Like every country instrumental ever.
Grateful Dead Phish Max Creek to name a few
I've been playing as long as this young guy has been alive no substitute for God given talent and a lot of practice
Funny how as a child going to Tennessee to visit my grandparents and hearing this type of music and not paying attention to it as a child. Freaking amazing music I love it
This is one of those moments where I gotta say. This needs to be a rock song
It would kick so much ass.
I'm pure metalhead and I'm loving it!
He got me with "Mom" (in heart) tattoo.
God bless you all!
I'm pure Meth Head.
3rd time playing this since I woke up 45 minutes ago. This shit soothes and amps me up at the same time. Love it
First song was a intro into dust in a baggie. Genius. Pure genius.
joe Recto yeah obviously it’s in the title. But musically, as in the notes led into dust in a baggie perfectly.
Something very special about Billy....He is here to teach us something....
I POSITIVELY, ABSOLUTELY, EMPHATICALLY,WITHOUT A DOUBT LOVE THIS SOUND..
(I was raised on rock..Kinks ,Stones,Beatles Moody Blues Sabbath etc.. etc..) I love the harmonies and the honesty In this style of melody and time.. ✌& 💖
Try the reverend horton heat...... if you like this....you'll love that
I never could really tolerate blue grass although I definitely appreciated the skill it took to play this form of music. Billy Strings has actually got me hooked on blue grass. Not to mention he’s a brilliant song writer.
I love how they all look to each other as a means to make the song work. They feed off each others fucking absolute awesomeness
Played the guitar for 30 years.... I watch Billy and truly understand how shit I really am
Love Don Julin, just as cool as Billy is wild. Amazing sound from 3 “old” instruments.
RUclips really has created a culture of binging people. Not people who binge, people who binge/devour information about other people.
It helps that he got some success on his own merit and led to a lot of concert appearances and songs for us to binge.
Guitar mouth is such an awesome example of someone really getting into their craft. Looks like they're having a stroke but instead they're just doing their thang.
God has blessed Billy Strings and brought him to the world.
Wish i had some super cool musical terminology to use to articulate the talent here. All i got is...badass
Thats all you need
Couldn't of been said any better🤘
For starters you could say “dem boyz goood” with a southern drawl. Super articulate though so be careful who you are around.
You nailed it. I'm gonna be jamming this song for weeks haha
I watch this and it just drives my guitar playing😂 gotta get this good
Man oh man. I wish I could watch this guy play live. He makes me utterly joyous.
He’s here in my home state of Maine on nov 15th and 16th. I think I’ll have to go to one of them.
You could set Rolex watch to that Bassist. His timing was unrelentingly, perfect. Great video!
Probably one of the best videos out there, just got it all.
Have a good one people, today won't come again so make the best out of it.
Exactly what music is missing these days...
john prime brought me here. thank god for good country picking music
Perfect example of how there’s amazing music in every genre. I don’t typically listen to stuff like this and am not sure how I found it, but this shit is amazing!
Whatever kind of music this is I love it. And I'm from the hood. That speaks volumes💯💪
I'm convinced he sold his soul
Yep and it only cost him some messed up ear lobes

listening to talented musicians playing is amazing, whatever genre they are playing, hard to believe billy was at one point in a metal band
Found out about him, just now 😁
Thank God, for his talent ✌🏼
The Netherlands 🇱🇺
That's some intense 6 and 1/2 minutes!
He has a billion dollar voice and musical skills to boot
I'm an absolute fiend for Black Metal, and Billy Strings may be in my top 5 musicians ever...
No one is mentioning how amazing that mandolin player is like 😮😮😮
@DB Cooper's MoneyBags Thanks! I'll check him out.
These are some of the coolest guys I've ever seen
This is fantastic and addicting. More addictive than dust in a baggie
I never knew much about bluegrass music, if this is bluegrass music I'm all in! That was GRATE.
"you tell us when to go...and we'll go." They sure did!
Represent Mid-Michigan! formally known as "Boomer" I remember when he was a 14 year old local phenomenon. Well Mr. Strings continue to make us Michigan folk PROUD!
Glad to hear a resurgence in American sounds.
SWEET JESUS!! BEAST MODE, ENGAGED! Good job guys. Love the jam.
Billy has such a classic bluegrass voice love it.
I could listen to these guys Jam ALL Day! Holy sh*t!
Showed this to a glass of water, it turned into moonshine.
Cheyne Cadwallader lol, nice one.
This damn shine just keeps showing up.
Underrated comment lol, i laughed
Yeahhh!!!!
Hahaah🤣
I still love singing along. It is such a great song.
I lived up in Newport on the Idaho border. Sounds like some of the mountain music from home.
Thank you for your music.
I lived in Nashville for 6 7 years knew a few people ran to a quite a few famous people but I'll tell you what kids really talented and I love where it comes from what a great person
