      PBD is bluntly spot-on about so many nontrivial things that it's hard to list examples. He is underestimated because he does not speak like a university-educated elite or someone who keeps up with psychological jargon. For me, it enhances his down-to-earth pragmatism and intellectual honesty, but he doesn't always come up with _brilliant_ examples, analogies, or apropos and memorable turns of phrases. He definitely does his homework, however, more so than some of his snobbier interviewees.

    • @lucasp1185
      @lucasp1185 10 месяцев назад +6

      PBD seems to have a rather narrow view of the world. It's a sentiment shared by many that not everyone should become parents just because they have the ability to. Happiness is subjective; what brings joy to one person might be distressing to another. The world is multifaceted, and it's unfortunate when individuals try to impose their singular perspective on others. Everyone should have the freedom to live their lives without undue influence from others.

      @@lucasp1185 That is his perspective that you and others like you just don't seem to get. He's not pushing anything on anyone they don't want to do, he's talking about regular people that DO believe in things like becoming parents, getting married, maybe even the wife staying home with the kids while Dad goes off to work however hard to make sure everyone is taken care of, etc. - they're the ones distressed, tormented as if they have no right to their happiness. We have to DEFEND our happiness, as if it is an affront to others' happiness. Simply saying 'I don't care. Leave me alone. Live your life, I'll live mine.' is no longer enough. We are supposed to cater to and support other people's choices, but not the other way around. Everyone should indeed have the freedom to live their lives without undue influence from others - it's simply not that way anymore now is it? Talking about what you believe would provide people happiness is a far cry from insisting others follow your mandates - which is where we are on the other side of the spectrum.

    Snow White is not about a stalker, and it is was never about EXTERNAL beauty. Actually, the Queen can be argued to be the more beautiful. She actually looks like a temptess, or a vixen. Even in the live action remake, Snow White was played a decent looking actress, but the evil Queen was played by long-time heart throb Charlize Theron. The key to Snow White's beauty was her internal soul. The Queen sends a hit man to take her heart, he sees Snow White and can't do it because he sees her heart is pure; beautiful.
    When Snow White falls victim to the Queen's poison, the seven dwarves rally to avenge her, even if it means their death. If anything, the original Snow White takes light hearted jabs at men. The dwarves represent men. Hard working, dutiful, but ill-mannered... Perhaps uncivilized? Snow White asks the dwarves at one point to wash their filthy hands before eating her stu. The dwarves look at each other in shock. "Wash? What for? We ain't goin' nowhere."
    External beauty means nothing if you're ugly on the inside. A valuable lesson for all the youth. The Queen was ugly on the inside. How fitting for the Queen's disguise to be so ugly (externally) when she stooped to the level of giving Snow White a poisonous apple.
    Disney is now devoid of talent. The company will fail. It has been usurped by the woke and the wicked.

    • @emy_2510
      @emy_2510 10 месяцев назад

      I think its is largely about puberty and using beauty as a tool. Or being aware of your own beauty. By 'accelerating' Snow white's attention to her own looks, or puberty (the apple), the evil queen wants to almost steal her beauty because the most beautiful one is the one not aware of their own beauty.
      And i heard this somewhere. From Jordan maybe. The seven dwarves represent the idiosyncrasies of masculinity. The eternal predicament of women, to be surrounded by dwarved men.

I did everything right. I'm not a feminist. I believe in love, I don't think all men are bad. I believe in God, I'm pro-life, and here I am single, and yes, sometimes I feel lonely from no fault of my own. I happen to have a dog and a cat because living alone can be scary, but I'm grateful for them and my friends. I get their point, but not everyone who is alone with a pet intended to be this way. That sad bitter man hating woman with her little dog and cat was my grandmother. It's true my grandfather left her high and dry, a single mom trying to provide for 3 little girls in the 1960's while he galavanted off to be a swinging single and womanizer...so she had legitimate grievance and no, it wasnt fair. Unfortunately she allowed it to poison her against men for the rest of her life, sabotaging her 2nd marriage and disliking her sons in law and grandson for having the audacity to be male - my mother was terrified when she was pregnant that I might turn out to be a boy. Luckliy, (I guess😉), I was born a girl, and when I had my boys, I didn't give her the chance to mistreat them. We lived in the same city, but I only would ever send her pictures and cards, keeping things sweet and civil, but not giving her the opportunity to take her anger out on them...

    I went into the US Army right out of high school, and truthfully I wasn’t build for it. I have never been a feminist. The only reason I signed up was because My father let me know he wasn’t going to take care of me forever. He was quite the motivator. My father couldn’t afford to send me to college, and that GI bill looked promising. My bad luck , Reagan took it all away.
    To my thoughts, feminism is being able to choose to work in a marriage or stay home with the children. Not many in America today can afford to stay home. I wish my government would put financial incentives in place to make those choices available.

Happiness is subjective; what brings joy to one person might be distressing to another. The world is multifaceted, and it's unfortunate when individuals try to impose their singular perspective on others. Everyone should have the freedom to live their lives without undue influence from others.

    One thing people seem to miss is that these CEOs are not creators. They are Ivy League trained managers and stock manipulators. They never suffered through entrepreneurship and have no loyalty to these companies, only to their stocks prices. In the case of Iger, if you made him CEO of Coca Cola, it wouldn’t make any difference - he has as much loyalty to Disney as Coca Cola. So these CEOs who have created nothing, do not share the same values as the original founders (Walt believed in American values and American exceptionalism and wanted Disney to spread those ideals to the world), and so in their hubris, they want to leave their own legacy, instead of carrying the torch of the original founders.

    My mother was a family law attorney, which equates to divorce lawyer. The domestic violence stories she dealt with would weaken your argument. What girls are taught in Disney movies is to look for "Prince Charming". Many abusive men begin relationships with their victims (male or female, or vice versa abusive women are included, but statistics show that men predominantly are documented as being domestic violence partners --perhaps men don't report the abuse out of shame). The story is that a fairy tale is yours if you just wish upon a star. It is that philosophy that leads some partners of domestic violence (male or female) into abusive relationships, that fantasy zone. Feminist women with a dog or cat I have known are pretty happy and not lonely. A lot of males are "bachelors" and that is considered "good" in the eyes of society. Please don't neglect to mention the males who are alone with a cat or dog, as surely there are many.

    • @squidikka
      @squidikka 10 месяцев назад

      So your anecdotal examples of bad relationships that your mom dealt with because she is literally a divorce attorney... meaning obviously just about every single case she dealt with involved people wanting a divorce (hello...?), somehow weakens his argument? This is the equivalent of going to Antarctica and being shocked that it's covered in snow, then coming back to report that we must be in an ice age. You are a person who goes to a prison and is in awe that it's full of convicts. It's fine if some women are comfortable being a lonely cat lady, but that's not really the point he was making. This is obviously aimed at the rise in women who fall into this trope but actually *regret it* in the end thanks to the false promises of such movements.

    • @hamulerrickdon

      That's a good point. Men are encouraged to sow their loin and are literally breaking hearts in the process, and then want to turn around and complain about what they see when they are finally ready to settle down?
      If that's not the pot calling the kettle black, then I don't know what is.
      They want feminists to agree that men and women are different -- that men are visual. But at the same time, they don't want to accept some of the consequences of not getting that visual characteristic under control. You're literally creating the women that you don't want to marry and then having the nerve to complain about the market...
      How about don't be a male s1ut? This would help society just as much as women getting themselves together.

Has the guy on the show spoken to every feminist from the 80's to know that they're all alone or lonely with only a dog or cat for company? Of course he hasn't. So if you think his argument is valid based on his "anecdotal" evidence, surely someone else's must be considered. And I don't agree with him saying women "chose" the wrong enemy, if anything, men did. This whole situation wouldn't be had men just allowed women to express themselves as they choose - Whether it's having the right to vote or chasing a career. "The chickens have come home to roost" and men are freaking out everywhere because women no longer want to be damsels in distress.

    I don’t understand why an older single woman is considered to be lonely when plenty are very happy. For instance, as an engineer without children I make enough to live great and not have to put up with the burden of a man or children. I love thanksgiving with my friends, that my mid 6 figure salary goes into my luxury apartment and vacations and not having to put up with anyone else’s BS. Life is really great!
    With that being said, Why don’t you make a video about older men who are alone because their wives passed away and their children don’t visit them? Being alone can be by choice or not. Some of us love our independence and I’m sorry (not) that removes power from misogynistic men. 😢

    The only problem I have with this is that women, so long as they live long enough will encounter a reason to be fearful and distrusting of men. It doesn't matter what the movies suggest. The reality women don't have the luxury of trusting men considering the way a group of men treat women. The number of times I've been followed, or put In a situation where I'm afraid because I know that a man could hurt me and there's nothing I can do is sad and alarming. You can blame women for there fears all you want but that is a woman's reality. Women are out here afraid, and that fear turns to hatred. Men need to do better, blaming feminism isn't the problem. Women are chosing to be alone because they now have the means to have a choice as to wether they want to depend on men they don't trust, on principal or not.

    The razor is a solid 7/10, slightly better than the bic i was using.
    The shampoo i like, again solid 7/10. Nice fragrance, doesnt have as many of the nasty industrial ingredients as mass market stuff, although some of them sound similar so maybe theyre just derivatives of the nasty ingredients and are still bad, not sure.
    The chocolate is really good. 8.5/10 its definitely better than hershey's. Much more of a mellow chocolate flavor with much more earthiness/nutiness. Would get again.

    PBD depiction of femminism is so exaggerated and inaccurate. My mom is 75 - she was an early feminist - not a famatical femminist but a feminist none the less. She faced real barriers early in her career as a professional and endured poor treatment (harrasment) from men. The needle has moved forward thanks to women like her - as her son I never felt like she thought men were the enemy, she isn't single, raised a family and still took care of the majority od the domestic duties. She doesn't regret having stood up for herself as a woman. I'm 45 and the feminists in my generration have missed the mark on some things - they think that by doing any traditionally female duties they are taking part in the patriarchy. For example, in my friend group men take care of at least half the domestic duties, do slightly more of the cooking, are very involved with raising the children yet are still expected to be the main bread winner. The problem with PBDs life view is that he thinks the system is perfect because it worked for him - he doesn't like black people who point out some of the challenges they still face ie BLM - they are never expressing it in a way that makes him confortable because the truth is he doesn't want to hear it - full stop. He may even recognize some of the disparities - he just never wants them to do anything about it. These type of people are the same people who didn't agree with MLK's tactics and the civil rights movement in general. Today history views the civil rights movement kindly. PBD and conservatives in general are going to end up on the wrong side of history - but it won't bother them but they don't really care to know history and context. It's the same with the environment - they want to make fun of Greta (she has twice the class and brains of a guy like Andrew Tate) and criticize every policy that tries to address enviromental damage - and when they are honest with themselves they know it's real. They would prefer to criticize and never offer any real way to improve anything - they think it is fine to do something about the environment as long as it poses ZERO inconvenience to them. Sorry - progress and saving the planet does not work like like. For guys like PBD the truth can be inconvenient.

      Sure, we'd like to have a relationship too but the risk is too high. I'm currently one of those people. After my divorce from such a woman, I put my efforts into becoming a better person. Now I run a successful business and have lots of free time and money like I never had in my life. No way I am going to risk losing that in a relationship.

Had one ex who manipulated me financially and got me into debt and ended up cheating on me and got another woman pregnant but I didn't go around shitting on all men. Instead I learned to read people better. In another relationship the guy kept expecting me to be like other women he had dated. Even after proving myself multiple times that I was different. In the end I broke up with him because he wasn't keen on getting married since he has a bad experience in his previous one. Both men I mentioned above, to this day still try to reconnect with me and have told me that they regret taking me for granted. So yeah projecting your issues onto another person isn't healthy. My advice to people who've got trust issues. Go see a therapist so you can deal with your own "trauma" issues.
