The entire Hotel General Walker remains, but I think they razed the Bayrisherhof in town. I wish I knew where all the original furniture went? It was all still in these and in use in these 2 places when I stayed there. Eva Brauns room just as she left it!
I feel I understand the evolution (devolution) of Hitler, when witnessing the underpinnings of fascism taking root now, in the States and other countries. DO NOT fail to learn from the past.
The Berghof was later seized by US Army and was made into the General Walker Hotel and Golf course..My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Gen Walker ..creepy
We rented an RV and drove all over europe from the UK, so we parked up and camped below the tea house veiwing platform pretty much, Berchtesgaden is beautifull. We drove all over Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Italy, France and Belgium, it was amazing. 😊

I was there in '89. There was more stuff then. I took a brick and carried it around, but left it finally. Big bunkers under the Hotel Turk.
