My daughter started homeschooling during COVID. It's the best thing ever. No more hospital trips because of abdominal issues. Happier children. Family life is so much easier when you eliminate the public school system. I wish I had home schooled my girls. Never doubt that you are the right thing.
You didn't fail, you weren't feeling well. Don't come down on yourself. The wrap and the blanket are beautiful! I LOVE the granny blocks! Doing something for you is self-care, which you and all of us really need.

I am so glad Lucas is doing so well I know you made the right choice for him. Being beat up or fussed at all day is not any way to learn. He is so smart and you are giving him the freedom to learn at a pace he would never have had in public school. You are a WONDERFUL mother !!! Never doubt it.

In 2010 I took my 3 little ones out of school and homeschooled for 11 years. Best 11 years of my life! That quality time totally changed them and I had no more behavior problems.
People asked me how I had the patience to do it and I'd ask them how they had the patience to deal with public school, bullies, hours of homework, etc...
I'm so happy you've chosen this path. Life is so precious and short. He'll forever be grateful 🙏 🧡

Trust me, while you don’t think those are your colors, they definitely look good on you. Absolutely beautiful. I may need to buy some of that yarn. Thanks for sharing all of your projects. My son (16) attends an online only public school. My son went from extremely depressed to happy the moment we pulled him from in-person. Our teachers allow him to modify his work, school takes my kiddo about 2 hours a week.

I am so happy to know that things are looking up for you Jen. I am also so happy that Lucas is a happier person. I thought maybe he would miss what friends he did have a school. My kids always say "no" when I ask for anything LOL Then they give it to me or do whatever for me. I love the blanket you made. I have to take a couple of days off myself as I have been crocheting for too many days in a row. I used to switch off between paper crafts and crocheting but my supplies are out of reach right now. Our youngest granddaughter has been going to school for a couple hours a day and the rest in an online academy. This will be her second year on this schedule and it's been the best thing for her. She's gained a lot of confidence and seems more poised. Every kid learns differently. -- I'm so glad you showed off your creations with the Charlotte yarn cuz I bought a whole bunch of it :) Now I'm really glad I did!

Love all your makes! I love the idea of the hooter pillow. It could come in handy for people who have had double mastectomies. I've heard sleeping and resting is uncomfortable, so that would be great to hug on so the surgery site is protected. 💜💜

Good morning Jennifer, I've been in Fredericksburg for a few days. Heading back to Jersey now but wanted to say it's beautiful here. I went to the battlefields, walked the trail at The Wilderness, and a bunch more historical sites. Topped off with ice cream from a place called Carl's. Has been a great time. Lol, you're right, Michael's is empty. I forgot my stitch marker so stopped in. Was dismal 😂

Your shaft and beanie are really cute too. I’m sorry your are in so much pain. I wish I had home schooled my kids. They bare in their 30’s now and have my only grandchild, Brighton a beautiful almost 10 year old is going to a great charter school here in Utah band she loves it. Good for you for homeschooling.

Im very excited to hear how much Lucas is excelled in his school work. It sounds like youve rewired his school experience. My daughter homeschools her son. He is on the high functioning end of the spectrum. He is flourishing. Public school was not the fit for him. He is so smart. Homeschooling is so great. You can go at their own pace and adapt to their needs. You go Jennifer. You are doing what's best for Lucas and that is to be praised. Your an amazing mom. That hat and scarf is gorgeous by the way. I have got to get some of that yarn!!

I don't have and will never have children, but I was a kid once. That being said, I think you have made the best decision for your entire family. The stress that Lucas was under must have been terrible. Now his days are full of fun learning and time with his family. No outside stressors or bullies or idiots to put up with.

We have a new daycare in the plaza behind us and the kids are always super loud when they are outside in the play area. It can be quite loud and annoying for my son cause his bedroom window backs onto them and he always has his window open. Hubby can do this crazy maniacal laugh that has even scared the ones working at the haunted they used to have in town. The other day the daycare kids were being particularly loud so he went up to my son’s room, did the laugh and scared the pants off of all the little kids and I’m pretty sure the daycare teachers that were out with them. Not sure how many people he traumatized, but ‘‘tis the time of year

@CinnamonStitches I am diligently back to work on the same 7 star blanket that Kayla is making. It has some glitches, but I am doing a little of my own thing to make it come out. I am using Mandala Bonus Bundle yarn. I had said in the beginning that I had no big cakes, and then when I gathered all my yarn from various closets to make a yarn room; bingo I found some. Lol
As a breast cancer survivor, I appreciate both the sentiment and the fun of making booby stuff! 😂 I’m looking forward to the projects. So glad home schooling is going well. You and Lucas are working hard at it. 😄
