That looks like the kind of a Christmas tree that Joseph Gribble would bring home to his new residence in the neighborhood called Belcher’s Grove in the series revival of “KING OF THE HILL”, especially since his father Dale Gribble succumbed to the stroke from all his years of smoking, and mother Nancy Gribble moved in with John Redcorn, bag and baggage, after she gets Peggy Hill to sell the house at 522 South Rainey Street to Orville Snorkel aka Sarge (from the Beetle Bailey comics).

@ David Urban It took me awhile to figure that one out too. I heard the phrase in the song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. I finally realized it referenced the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future in “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. I’ve always especially liked the televised version starring George C. Scott as Ebenezer Scrooge.
A superb cast all around. I was happy to learn, on Facts Verse as a matter of fact, that Jean Stapleton made the decision to leave when the show changed to Archie Bunkers Place. I had been misinformed the Carol O'Connor wanted her written out.
I recall a colleague's having said that "Christmas is the ultimate celebration of retail capitalism". Unfortunately, that is quite true, at least in the US. I've read that in Australia, Christmas isn't quite as big a "deal" as it is in the US. Maybe others can chime in regarding other nations.
@Jleed989 Alot of that started in the 1970s when Reagan made it legal to divorce for irreconcilable differences. Before that, there were 4 legal reasons you had to prove to get a divorce before 1970....irreconcilable differences wasn't any of the 4.

Telling ghost stories at a Christmas fireside chat roasting chestnuts?? You're supposed to be talking about Old St. Nick, sleigh rides and Rudolph and his red nose.
What always struck me as funny, though, was that, especially in Archie's case, you never saw him eat very much, usually because he got in arguments with Mike, and he was the one who was always clamoring for supper on the table to be served on time.
You don’t need to be religious to celebrate the holiday. Christmas has different meaning from one person to another. Christmas is the time of year we go out of our way to spend time with family we don’t see often. My kids are grown, Christmas is when we get together and enjoy each others company.
Archie is so cheap to get a Christmas tree and gets a Charlie Brown Christmas tree instead. Archie is a Scrooge. l bet Santa well give him nothing. This is a depressing Christmas.
Archie couldn’t help the fact that he didn’t know geography very well when he rerouted the crate of machine parts from Canada to England?! So what if it did cost him and his fellow employees their holiday bonuses? Most of the others were more frugal while most of Archie’s regular weekly paychecks went to the grocery bill from Ferguson’s Market, especially when he and Mike look like their arguments will go from verbal to physical, and Edith breaks up the arguments saying, “You know what I think??? I think we ought to eat!!!”
He was a legendary comedian. One of few who had me laughing in tears when it came to his commedy. Archie Bunker was hilarious!😂
Love this classic TV show "all in the family"
Christmas feels like that now. Not the same. When you get older and loose family members.
How true I'm 60 and have lost about all my aunts and uncles .....sad
I unfortunately, could not agree with you more 💔😢
Edith can crack you up without even trying, 'What an angel'.
A real shame Hollywood can't make good sitcoms anymore. I guess the outstanding writers retired, moved or have sadly passed away.
Can't make good sitcoms anymore because too many ppl offended by everything
There are also too many offendanistas and too many people afraid of the offendanistas nowadays 🤮
I think that after the writers strike reality television took over, so the future has anyone who can get ratings to look up to.

He was probably thinking “ I killed it.” Just like Charlie Brown said in the tv special.

That sentiment that Christmas lost its magic was a symptom that the country was falling apart but people just couldn't put their finger on that fact.
