    Dude the HD 5770 was the first card I used in my first gaming PC build in 2010. Literally the dream PC for me, I wish I still had that build. That card will forever be my favorite card.
    The build was an AMD Phenom II X4 980, with 12GB DDR3, 1TB HDD and a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5

    • @gabecapps
      @gabecapps  29 дней назад +2

      That is very similar to this build! I wish they still made cool looking gpu’s like they used to, I was never able to really get one like this!

      @@gabecapps Me too. I'm currently using a PC with a GTX 670 Gigabyte Windforce, it runs great. But I got a Ryzen 7 2700x. Still an AMD fanboy obviously lol.

    Glad to see you entered into the cardboard arena. I will add you to the spreadsheet. It's kind of cool how the top of the box is like a "lid". It's like the hood of a hot rod car.
    Beware of a man that has electrical tape. Anything is possible.

    1:56 that is a eeprom slot for custom rom things LOL

      @gabecapps  Месяц назад

      Thank you! Even if it isn’t always accurate, I do think it is something nice to add just to give an idea of what the hardware will be like. I tried getting MSI afterburner, but I was having issues with DirectX with this gpu!

    I had my c2d e6400 in the same case that housed my first pc, a amd k6-2. It survived a few iterations. I helped friends on a budget build basic rigs for cheap that would handle online games like cs1.6 - most of them skipped the case and started their machines by shorting the pins on the motherboard with an improvised piece of metal.

    That vintage asus motherboard is a nice board with an nvidia chipset. It has an Athlon XP or a Sempron installed. That thing itself is worth the $20 you paid for the lot. I have one of these myself in my Athlon XP build paired with an Athlon XP 3200+ (the fastest CPU these boards can run), 2GB in dual channel (1×1GB + 2×512MB) and a Radeon X850 Pro.
    Also does that AM3 motherboard support crossfire? There are ultra chap Radeon HD 5770s out there. You know what you have to turn that into a $30 crossfire PC.

    • @rmcdudmk212
      @rmcdudmk212 29 дней назад +2

      I was thinking an XP era Athlon. Looks similar to a board my buddy had back in the day.

    • @Txm_Dxr_Bxss
      @Txm_Dxr_Bxss 29 дней назад +2

      @rmcdudmk212 yes, these chips were called Athlon XP. The mobo is a little too new for the earlier Thunderbird Athlons and Durons. Also way too expensive at the time to put such an outdated chip into it.

      You could have used the Antec. The 4pin is designed to sit next to the 20pin connector. It could be used with older 20pin mobos, or the then "newer" 24pin versions
