Haha I am also a Spanish speaker and I must say it came in handy! My parents speak Mexican Spanish though so I had to tell them to slow down because Caribbean Spanish is fast!

(I suspect before "Maria" most Americans didn't know about Puerto Rico.....or that the island is an American Territory with a Representative in the US Congress....unfortunately without vote!)

the weather is like 90s in the saturdays and sundays or at 12pm that is the worst time to stay outside unless u going to pool or beach
I see Tropical rain forest and all I can think is: Spiders. It's insane that round trip flights there are only around $100 if you're coming from a hub like Minneapolis or Dallas. Might consider going on a cheap vacation there. But we also have Washington that has a Rain Forest 2 hours outside Seattle (Hoh Rain Forest), beaches in California and all over there's legal cannabis and tons more to do. Puerto Rico has the edge on old cities with tons of history though

Boricua mama The first night we got an Air bnb in San Juan just so we could spend a day exploring old San Juan and things in that area! Stayed at The Dream Catcher Hotel which was a really cool experience and a great price!! Then we drove over to Rincón! We stayed there for the rest of the trip and just drove to everything we wanted to see from Rincón. Everything is pretty easy to get to from there. The furthest drive was about an hour!

You can definitely visit all of these places! In order to visit Puerto Rico you have to get a COVID test 72 hours before your flight and bring your negative test results with you for when you land. Once you get there, as long as you have your negative test results, you will be able to travel around Puerto Rico and visit any spots you’d like!

Is El Yunque rainforest even open for the public? It was destroyed after hurricane Maria I think.
Yes it was open when I was there. We had to get a tour guide in order to enter. Might of changed by now though

We didn’t eat out much because we stayed at an air bnb and cooked our own food. But one restaurant I did go to that I loved was La Cambija in rincon! Their food was great. Also went to cafe 2 go every morning for coffee/smoothies. That was great too!
So masks arent enforced? R they optional or pretty non existent?
In San Juan we were told they if you get caught not wearing a mask outside you could get ticked. But once we left San Juan it wasn’t strict. Just had to wear a mask walking into restaurants and stuff!
warning if you care for your life and you think you can go to PR and act like a maniac and you vandalize well don't go the streets are gonna deal with this and tourists are going to be dealt with very soon, go somewhere else people in PR are getting tired of these tourists drinking and dancing on the streets you are disrespecting our island and you will pay the consequences.
lol I did not vandalize, drink, or dance in the streets. I have complete respect for the island.
What about covid restrictions
Everything was pretty much opened. Just have to wear a mask walking inside of places until you sit down. In San Juan they required you to wear a mask outside. Once we were out of San Juan, wearing a mask outside was optional and not many people did.

Its a beautiful place which is why its hard to understand why most ppl who come to the states from PR never wanna go back there, even tho it was white europeans who liberated the ppl of PR just like they did with most other latin countries.

the only beautiful thing about puerto rico is the beaches and hotels the rest sucks we got a lot of corruption in the government they use money thats supposed to be for us for themselves to buy luxury cars even one of our governors was talking bad about alot of people started bullying about a blind guy who was also a politic the roads suck ur cars bumepr will definitely break in the roads also the almost everyday the lights go out in puerto rico the work doesn't pay enough and prices are getting higher so alot of people move to the states and dont want to come back the population of puerto rico has dropped alot we were 4 million people in here now its 800,000 that changed in like 5 years then 18,000 people were born in that time here but the double died so basiclly its 800,000 and decreasing
