I want to say thank you for all of your sermons. I also want to say thank you for your verse by verse on your website. I use it for my home bible study group. You and one other are the only ones I trust on the internet for God fearing wisdom on scripture. Your wife is so precious. I listen to her messages as well.

When God was about to kill Moses because he listened to his wife instead of listening to God, it really puts things into perspective. If God can train someone for 80 years, and punish him in this manner, that means that God had such high expectations from him. I think about this in terms of when I try not to sin with my words, actions or thoughts, (#1) am I really setting a high enough standard? If I can set a high standard for myself, in other aspects in life, how does that amount to anything, because standards comes from God and not from myself. I doesn't mean anything to God, after all, lots of people can have standards about academics, sports, relationships, how we present ourselves outwardly, about morality ; the list is endless. Heck, people in the middle of the Amazon don't know Christ, yet they can establish their own set of standards for morality. So there's nothing different that I'm doing here; we will find people in every corner of the world setting their own standards and even diligently following it. The point here is, that I learned that my sense of morality/standards/anything else should come from God, and not from the world. (#2) When I give into temptation, I need to repent, which means I need to apologize to God and tell Him that I won't repeat my mistakes again. Revelation 3:19 "Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent." Zipporah circumcised their son because she knew why Moses was dying. She knew that there was God's hand in this situation. From this I learned that God will find ways to show us that He means business! I want to see more of God through His blessings as well as His rebuke. (#3) Humility. I learned that I need not defend myself, if I love God, tell Him that, have faith in His love for me, then I needn't defend myself, I needn't worry, He will help me, He will defend me. I shouldn't think that it is through MY words or through MY doing that I can go through anything, but rather through His. When faced with criticisms, instead of giving them a piece of my beautiful mind, I need to pray for my enemies, what a difficult thing to do, so I will pray about it. I will pray for a spirit of forgiveness and humility. (#4) The Lord doesn't always give us a reason when He does certain things or tells us to do certain things. I haven't reached that stage yet where God speaks to me, I don't think so, but from this I learned that I need to stop seeking explanations for everything and in doing that I hope I can learn to trust in Him more. In Numbers 20 :11-12 , I learned that God was merciful to the Israelites even though His servant disobeyed Him. God didn't explain Himself to Moses, didn't give him a reason for not striking the staff; Moses disobeyed and had to bear the consequences of his disobedience. (#5) In the same verse, I learned about the consequences of living a life based on convenience. What if do everything that is asked of me by God, what if I please God everyday, even receive his blessings, but in certain pressing circumstances, I decide (very conveniently) not to obey Him? " To whom more is given, more is required." Submitting to the Lord means, " Lord I'm ready for my every action, my every thought, my relationships with others, my attitude towards others, my love for you, to be magnified and dealt with your strictest protocol, and I want to consult you on all matters." (#6) 1 Corinthians 9 : 27
