Sure, but also over-wringing if you know what I mean. Squeezing every drip out or exaggerating to such an extent that it almost becomes parody. I’m not a pianist myself, but with VO (as he does here), I feel like I get the true colors of the composition.
This is three minutes and twenty minutes in heaven, more or less. "Ave verum corpus" played by Vikingur Ólafsson I experienced yesterday, 2022-08-28, in Berwald Hall, Stockholm, Sweden, in his Mozart program. Let me just say that I am a bit overwhelmed...
I do agree my friend, this is the most beautiful of all Mozart's pieces in my opinion, and such an inspiration may have only came from god himself. Furthermore, mr Vikingur has improved such a piece even further with this piano arrangement, i have no words to describe it but pure bliss. Luckly i am playing the piano now and just recently purchased his music sheet from this piece and soon i will be able to perform it, i cannot wait.
He knows the depth and character of the piano keys one by one very well. And he is also a genius at understanding the space of sounds that piano strings echoes. His playing is very accurate and delicate enough to mesmerize. Also, the inspiration in my brain brings out a new world like looking at page by page. There is something new world on that page. I would like to purchase a CD of his piano playing.🥰👍
"Ave verum corpus", this is so deeply beautiful, I love Mozart and I love you my dear Víkingur, what a fantastic performance. Thank you so much for sharing.
Mi piace tantissimo il timbro che Vikingur riesce a dare ad ogni sua esecuzione. Chiaro e pulito, cristallino ma allo stesso tempo pieno e profondo. Molto molto bravo.
I have always thought Mozart was beautiful, but the Mozart he plays reflects exceptional beauty and clarity. A beautiful sound should be given to his playing! It is simply wonderful.
Mozart wrote it for choir; Liszt made this transcription for piano. The original is very beautiful, and the transcription is equally perfect. So is the playing of it here.
@@mauritiusdunfagel9473 Liszt touched everything. And everything Liszt touched became gold. The Liszt transcriptions of the Beethoven Symphonies became even more beautiful and distinctive than the original symphonies. He even transcribed bad works by less good composers, and made them into good music. Liszt always lend a good amount of musicality into his transcriptions.
What's your favourite recording by Víkingur Ólafsson?
I'm super excited!! Will be watching the premiere from New York!!❤️
What do you think the camera work/video editing contribute to this performance?
Bach Organ Sonata No. 4 Andante
This is a great recital album. Hard to say, but the Debussy/Rameau recording is really good.
The Arts and The Hours.
He is an amazing pianist! Never heard this version of Mozart before, very beautiful. I love Mr.Ólafsson's Bach
You can have the showboat pianists. This is music for listening. His sensitive touch is so right for this!

Just watching him getting lost in that music...Brilliant 👏💙
His music is poetic.
Have heard it week ago live in Berlin. I'll never forget this concert. Thank You for your music.
I like his colorful sound, expecially his Bach and Mozart music.
Unmistakably recognizable touch Vikingur Olafsson has. He's become my #1 now. Great pianist indeed.
So lovely. My favorite pianist. Can't wait to see more.
breathtakingly beautiful. Vikingur... does it yet again.

Very nice. Is it Mozart ? I am really surprised. Thank you.

COOL
그레엄 콕슨이 클래식 피아노 연주하는 느낌!
Buy his CD.
교회 부활절 행사때 찬양곡으로 부르다..
피아노곡으로 들으니 정갈하네요
❤❤❤🙏🏳️🌈
Limpid, intense…
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Prefer vocal version..
Désolée j'aime ce pianiste mais la c'est à peine si je reconnais ave verum...ce n'est pas Mozart et sa religiosité
Überirdisch
Liszt, too much ornamentions affects credibility.
Liszt ruined everything he touched!
