Such an awesome question dan w, thanks for sharing 🙏 I’m going to break this song down in my traditional format in the next couple of weeks, and speak specifically about the prep work I put in before each ‘restored’ mix. I’m sure you can’t help but notice (good ear ;-), that almost every track I’m mixing here has effects committed, and in most cases, embedded right into the track, meaning I don’t have control of the balance (dry/fx). These full mix sessions I’ve been sharing represent a pretty unique version of what I would call a master, only because my starting point is the original DAW (my 2005 mac G5/TDM rig). So in each case, I’m committing the effects native to that system (all the plugins as they were routed in the session), before importing it all to my current rig! I’ll definitely cover this in the breakdown, and thanks for bringing up such an important point Dan 🙏😊 Thanks care, and have a great weekend! -hw

Yes, I've noticed that too in previous videos. Was wondering why using antistatic wrist band? Is there a lot of static charge? Usually when is very dry that can happen. Never noticed that working with metal covered analog mixing desks or any outboard gear for that matter. Not that I could even hear a difference listening to clean channel. Would be nice to hear about that, maybe it is mentioned already but can't remember hear about it in any video.
@@MetalskiMetalski you nailed it, I work in a very dry climate, and the strap eliminates static discharge, but more importantly, my touch controls respond about 1000x better 😊🤟🏼 Thanks for sharing, it’s a really big deal 🙏 Stay safe! -hw
@@hiwattmarshall I use to live in Montreal for a while and people who live there might not noticed but it is a very low humidity area. I was practically non stop charged up so... whenever I touched something metal I got little shock 😃... to an extent that I go in habit of touching the door before touching doors handle just to have a small discharge to the surface... That was pretty annoying... Now in wet Vancouver I am at peace! 😂 Interesting thing about the touch devices didn't know that it could matter, but indeed thay are capacity driven if I am not wrong here. I've noticed that you use it make sens mouse is not ergonomic in this kind of workflow. I know you did a run through your studio but I am not sure if you mentioned what DAW controller do you use? It looks very neat and has auto-faders. Not moving into Protools anytime soon 😃 but I am simply curious...
also... if you don't want to use a wrist band there is a device which might not be that efficient but helps a lot... air ionizer does fantastic job. It is generally recommended for environments with a lot of electronics (studio...) it does balance the static charge of the air and surfaces and really improves air quality... I use to work in electronic components shop and because of also the static charge there which in that case cost money the business we got one and that was it. It would not help with the touch devices, but improves comfort for sure... it has a fan so might not be best to use in studio, but when you run it now and then it still does the job.
Wish phil western was still around.
So...."Hi-watt Remixes Everything" 264 disc multicoloured vinyl releases when?

Never noticed that working with metal covered analog mixing desks or any outboard gear for that matter. Not that I could even hear a difference listening to clean channel.
Would be nice to hear about that, maybe it is mentioned already but can't remember hear about it in any video.
@@MetalskiMetalski you nailed it, I work in a very dry climate, and the strap eliminates static discharge, but more importantly, my touch controls respond about 1000x better 😊🤟🏼
Thanks for sharing, it’s a really big deal 🙏
Stay safe!

Interesting thing about the touch devices didn't know that it could matter, but indeed thay are capacity driven if I am not wrong here.
