वाराणसी का पाणिनि महाविद्यालय अपने अनूठे काम से चर्चा में है। यहाँ देश के अलग-अलग हिस्सों से लड़कियाँ विदुषी बनने आती हैं और बरसों पुरानी प्रथा को तोड़ यज्ञ और दूसरे धार्मिक अनुष्ठान कराती हैं। यह महाविद्यालय आवासीय गुरूकुल पद्धति से संचालित हैं। यहाँ की दिनचर्या खान-पान, रहन-सहन पूर्णत: गुरुकुलीय हैं। भारत के सभी प्रान्तों की कन्यायें शताधिक संख्या में जाति, वर्ग, सम्प्रदाय के भेद से रहित होकर यहाँ शिक्षा ग्रहण कर रही हैं। यहाँ पाँचवीं से लेकर आचार्या (एम.ए.) पर्यन्त शिक्षा की व्यवस्था हैं। गत वर्षो से यहाँ अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय छात्रावास की सुविधा उपलब्ध हैं, जिसमे कि त्रिपुरा, नेपाल आदि के अतिरिक्त कैलिफोर्निया, हालैण्ड, अमेरिका आदि की कन्याओं ने भी अध्ययन किया है। यहाँ आधुनिकता-प्राचीनता का मर्यादित सम्मिश्रण है एतदर्थ योग्य शिक्षिकाओं की व्यवस्था की गई है, इसी के साथ यहाँ अग्रशिष्य शिक्षा प्रणाली से भी पठन-पाठन होता है, हर प्रकार की शिक्षा दी जाती, यहा पर वेद भी सिखाया जाता है | गुरुकुल में सर्वांगीण विकास करवाया जाता है |
