Game Center Saru series #9: Project DIVA Arcade: Future Tone printer unit overview and use!

Game-specific printers are becoming a thing of the past, with the advent of things like CardMaker and CardConnect, which unify printing features for KONAMI and SEGA games respectively. For today's video, we'll be looking over the printer from Project DIVA Arcade: Future Tone!
Enabling the printer mode is a one-song mode where you are unable to play the game, only watch the PV. While watching the PV, you can take up to 8 photos to be used at the end of the credit for various printing options. Absolutely unessential to the game (I mean, you literally don't play lol), but a very neat addition and big draw for hardcore Vocaloid fans!
With commercialized printers like this, you can't just put whatever paper in you want and go. The paper roll has its own DRM, and they don't exactly make that stuff anymore. Thus far it hasn't been broken, so having one of these fully original and working is going to become a serious rarity. The game has been modded to use any printer, so at least it'll be something that can be enjoyed in perpetuity, though!

Interesting gadget, actually trying to capture the exact frame that you want becomes (in a way) a game too because it's really difficult without being able to pause the video

Oh that's almost the same exact printer Photo Studio Deluxe (Apple Industries) uses. The PSD one is a CP9550DW but looks like the exact same ink and paper. Would be interesting if those would be swappable.

Almost certainly not, at least stock. It’s a similar printer used in a few other games too. It’s pretty much not feasible to hack the printer side, but you can just route it to a different printer/digital. Legit-wise though not really so simple

This is like a souped-up Game Boy Printer or Pokémon Snap photo station! I don't understand why people would want photos that aren't high scores, though.
