+Liv CDR Not everyone does, but I think it's just gut reaction to what looks like a bunch of disaffected rich kids being indolent and awkward. Maybe a touch of the director's voice saying "this is what the kids are like these days! I'm HIP" I am glad you like it. Nothing wrong with that. :)
because some people cannot appreciate artistic expression .. to see the argument of “they look like a bunch of rich kids” is ridiculous considering you’re watching a GUCCI advertisement, which I highly doubt was recommended to you by RUclips.
This video is genius! It's so simple in terms of lighting and there is minimal editing, allowing the audience to instead keep their focus on the clothing. The music actually makes a lot of sense because it is a recent, more contemporary cover of a post-punk song, which goes perfectly with Gucci's cruise collection--basically revamped 80's fashion. If you dislike this video, it probably means that you can't understand all elements of the fashion world and the arts in general. It's supposed to be a little weird, which is what makes is awesome. I totally dig it.
Hey I agree with you and your point of view is very interesting, could you elaborate more about what you personally are seeing in the video? I'd like to know, thanks a lot :)
The lighting in this video is not simple at all. The camera has crazy dynamic range to be able to swoop in from daylight into a closed space. And I bet you they have the interior lit with some massive and expensive HMI spots from the opposite window. You can actually catch a glimpse of a lighting element around 00:40 behing the terrace window. Also look at the shadows the dancers are casting in the first room. They have a very clever lighting system set up. Id love to see a BTS on how they made this.
@@RazomDoPeremohy Can you imagine which type of relatively inexpensive camera can approach the quality of this work? I love filming and would like to start in the area even if basically.
from the cinematography point of view, I really like this. I've seen it a while back but was looking for it for this very reason you mentioned. Forgot it was actually by Gucci.
@@RazomDoPeremohy I wonder which production company worked on this a BTS would be fantastic! Do you have any BTS of fashion shoots like this? I have looked/found some but just wondering.
This is gorgeous. I want to be a part of that world. The cloths are just beautiful and the video really helps you focus on the pieces. The music and the setting really help create an atmosphere that works harmoniously with this collection. I could watch it on repeat.❤️
Joy Division, the best band in the history of music!!! I'm Greek so I'm VERY PROUD for "Alive She Died"...30-35 years later, their sound is alive...cheers
I think all the models are beautiful and stylish in this video. I don't see a problem here as I've been naturally skinny all my life myself and is very healthy and full of energy.
Anyone love this video? It's so cool. And this remix of Joy Division is great. Saying that everyone in this video is anorexic is extremely rude. Also, Andrew VanWyngarden in the blue suit, anyone?
Danika Hansen i love this 🙋 and i love how everyone hates it 😂 i fell in love when i saw this for the first time, and it is going to be a trend for Fall/Winter 2018
Yeah but there's no fat people in this kind of videos. Being fat is not a beauty standard. That's exactly why being fat and being ok with it is called "body confidence"
Whether theyre skinny or not is this supposed to be satire? The music...The Outfits...The Dance moves...The "Napoleon Dynamite" -esque open mouth facial expressions. Maybe it's a gap in culture? Idk. This whole commercial is odd lol
I enjoyed the video however the panning jutter is really distracting. I don't know if its in the original or it appeared after it got processed by you tube. Ways to avoid this are to slow the pan down and open the aperture up. 1. Pan slowly 2. Use stabilization (lens, sensor, postproduction) 3. Use slow shutter speed ( 2X to frame rate) 4. Use a larger aperture so that main subject is sharp but background is blurred. A side note: I was hoping to see the outfits change as we panned around each time.
I think 'Atrocity Exhibition' would be a better choice for this video. The 'models' dancers' look like the patients of a eating disorders ward. Asylums with doors open wide, Where people had paid to see inside, For entertainment they watch his body twist, Behind his eyes he says, 'I still exist.'
Georgina Robertson it's called "trickle up" effect from the fashion trends cycle, when high fashion takes inspiration from the lower classes, during the economic crisis many teenagers decided to go shopping at flee markets and thrift stores looking for unique pieces and lower prices, the economic crisis summoned a zeitgeist for originality and origins-thus trends like "seasonless" dressing and mixing high and low, Alessandro Michelle's creative direction abandons the hyper sexuality of Tom Ford and opts for something underground and esoteric-look at the 70's influence in clothing, Napoleon Dynamite like male caricatures, the eccentric use of accessories like stacked rings (Michelle is known for wearing stacked cocktail rings), the casting models (thin and androgynous), set design (haute bourgeoisie interiors-painted gardens of decadence like the Garden of Eden (Michelle loves that concept)), the awkward dancing (beauty can found in the weird, the ugly, and dysfunctional, there's an ethereal surreal quality), and of course the selection of music (Greek 80's band cover of Joy Division), so the new Gucci is esoteric, an acquired taste that the mainstream won't understand or appreciate lol
+Sarafis Ioannis They are not hippies though, the just wear colorful similar clothes -- they're supposed to be decadent urban kids of super-rich parents...

Apparently I'm the only one who adored this! Great music and a lovely alternative-chic vibe.
i discover the greek band here in Lisbon in 2024
why does everyone hate this advert? I LOVE it, it's so odd and surreal and I also kinda like the music not gonna lie...

I love that this is controversial. Gucci just proved that literally everything they do is controversial to someone.

Utterly captivating in a way that words can't express. Love it!
can't get over this joy division cover
This looks like the most depressing party ever.
@Aliscans He can't know it's depressing before watching it lol
Why would it be your idea correct?
But if the models in the video were unhealthily fat, it would be promoted as body confidence. Double standards much.

It looks like each one of them just grabbed random items of clothing from a charity shop / thrift store.
