enjoyed your video I have a question when you select one of the kids out of the #3 on the free version software that are available are you not able to listen to the full kit I know you can click on each one of the drums or symbols it would be nice if you could hear the hole drum kit ,like in BDF player when you pick a kit to the left of that column there is a arrow that you click on and it'll play a short Loop of what that kit sounds like. Keep up the good work
Perfect video! I have the Steven Slate 5.5. Can I have a third crash cymbal as an option with a different diameter (18",19" and 20 "Crash) in every set I make? I can't get a third cymbal except for china
I’m going to watch the video but just Incase it’s not in the video and I can’t watch it fully right away can you explain something to me? Can these drums be edited in a daw? Iv heard people say they have issues to eq and compress Can you not take parts of the drum set like you would a real recording and edit it however you want in your daw?
You can route each part (kick, snare etc) to different output channel in the SSD5 mixer. By the way you can download the free version that is fully functional but includes just couple of drum kits. If you choose to buy appreciate if you use my link pluginfox.co/products/steven-slate-drums-5/?aff=udi
i would like to find out more about using one's own samples. I find that when loading them they are automatically loaded into the lowest octave and one has to drag each individual sample to a higher position. Is there any way to be able to drag more than one sample .like a complete kit,at once to a different mapping position. Thanks. If not it would be a good feature.
Indeed this is how SSD5 works.. in addition they don't have the option to add several samples to one instrument and set trigger by velocity (for example like in Cubase groove agent). I actually suggested that to them in a forum.. Fact is, SSD5 is not very good with handling external samples. Their own samples, mapping and overall sound is great but other than that they still have a lot of missing features. ruclips.net/video/yLnDI1QPCyo/видео.html
Thanks for the tutorial man! I'm using drum samples and grooves from Superior drummer 3 (they are the best and I have thousands) but when I start a new kit with my samples the mapping is a mess. So my question is: do I have to map every single instrument the way you shown in thia video? Dragging and dropping? Thanks again dude!
Did you watch part2 ? I personally don’t think SSD5 is a good sampler to use for triggering your own samples. I prefer Cubase groove agent or NI Battery. SSD5 is very limited. That said, you can drag and drop samples and save your own presets/kits.
I need help..im using FLS 20, and my Alesis kit shows up in MIDI settings..but there are no instructions on how to get the kit on the software once you have it? anybody wanna save my life lol ..I'm 3 weeks in and losing my mind
Hi, thanks for the video, but I was looking to see how I can map the ssd5 to sound correctly to a midi item that was made by Adictive Drums. Right now when I play with ssd5 there are different sounds that I don´t think should sound. I really like the Addictive beats but I cannot afford the full version, must try to make it work with free versions. Also Addictive does not let me load my samples, at least in the free version. I was wondering if you could make a video or tell me how I could do this. Thanks again
Ok I have watched Part 2 and that helped, but how do I match the ssd5 instruments to a Addictive groove, I don´t think I have to make all the addictive notes sound, but it would be nice to apply the ssd5 sounds to some of the notes.
Hi Aziz it’s actually pretty simple you just connect the drums via midi to the audio device or usb and load the plugin on instrument track. I did not make that video. contact me via facebook or my discord and i’ll try to help
Didn’t work for me.. I downloaded/ installed to the T and the files read”out of space”. It’s a blank hard drive tho. So I’m out 100 bucks with no reply from support so I’m pretty pissed
Many thanks Udi! Great stuff! 👍
Thanks for watching ✨
thank you just messd up with blending ...now I've learned

very informative thank you so much for this vid:))

Let me know if you have any questions
como se puede tocar con los sonidos que ofrece SSD 5.5 Steven Slate Drum (en tiempo real) con una bateria electronica?
Hi
You can connect your electric drums via midi or usb to the computer. In SSD you can load map file. It should work for most drums.
@@UDiAudio hi, thanks for the answer but how can I loud the map?

I'm preparing a video but basically you go to the MAP menu and load a map file or program your own mapping based on your drums documentation.

i’m not sure you can design your own kit. I suggest you open support ticket with slate.

Not sure if you can change the tempo in SSD it's taking the host bpm. When running as plugin in your DAW you need to change the project BPM.

You will have to go down and change midi mappings so when a certain midi note is playing the correct instrument is triggering..
Where can i find your tutorial about how to connect an electronic drum kit? i can't find it on your channel.

Hi! Is there a way to undo what I've done previously? I mean, in the same plugin interface?
Hi Lida
I'm not sure and I think not..
SSD could sound better, tom toms kinda low and snare just ok
I guess it depends on the kit and you can always mix it in the plugin or in DAW
How do I import my own midi files?
I don't think you can do that. Maybe you can ask Slate support?
@@UDiAudio How do I make drum patterns then?
@@Vaeren222 You can just program your own midi in what ever DAW you use.
