@@randyracos198 Hi Randy.... Well the Eventide is really great for reverbs and delays and pitch shifting. It is, however, very limited as far as how many effects at once. This video is on the older hd500x. I would take a serious look, if I were you, at the Helix line. The Line 6 Helix runs many more incredible fx at once. The Line 6 Helix Stomp is small and might be a good choice. I personally use the full blown Helix and love it. But the Eventide is a GREAT choice if you only want the best reverbs and delays and pitch shifting. If you want amplifier and speaker modeling along with killer stomp fx pedals.... Go with a Helix. The tone is outstanding.
I toured the world using the older HD500 paired with a half stack Mesa Dual Rec. I used to be anti-digital everything until I used this. The best feature is using the software, being able to physically layout the pedals virtually on the screen and directly link to the HD500 updating your virtual setup. Not a bad one stop shop for amateur and pro!
It is fantastic! I'm a 50 year old, former tube purist myself. Now I can do 99% of what I need to do with a Variax transplanted ESP Eclipse II and my POD HD500 and plug straight into the board. The level of versatility and quality the of sounds is just crazy. It looks like Line 6 improved one of my two minor complaints about the unit. The footswitches seem a little finicky on my pre-"X" unit. The other thing I wish they would have done is to put the power supply in the unit, since it's already a fairly big and heavy unit, the little wall wart seems like an afterthought. And a disaster if you forget to grab it (don't ask). Just a couple of suggestions for people thinking about buying one of these. 1) Do your editing via the excellent software application and your computer. Very intuitive and smooth. The display and interface on the unit itself just blows. 2) Dump the horrible factory presets. Entire banks and individual presets are readily available from people much better at this sort of thing!
Just got given this. OMGawsh. I've got a bit to learn. Would have loved this when I was a studious gear geek. I will test my patience on this awesome gift. Woohoo
Took me a while to learn it but once you do there is no sound you can't get! The edit software is the best way to go. I do multiple cover gigs and can save the presets in the different banks. Plus, you can download, or upload, numerous presets from the Line 6 website!
I bought the original HD500 three years ago and couldn't get a good realistic tone out of it after several months of tweaking. I finally gave up and bypassed the amp sims to use it as an effects only processor and I have been loving it ever since. Having the ability to recall banks of effects configurations with a single button is awesome. Adding a second expression pedal allows for complete real time control over effects parameters and makes the HD500 an incredibly flexible live rig.
How do you have it set up? Try using it as Amp, not Line, and going into a guitar amps loop return. This device is AMAZING at replicating real amp sounds, but only if you stay away from any of the digital stuff like USB recording. 1/4'' out is the only way to go.
I tried every configuration imaginable with a number of different amps and sound systems including Tech 21' Power Engines, a DT25, 2 different Marshalls, Atomic Reactor, a Legacy and Blackstars . I even returned the first one thinking I just got a bad unit. I was on the Line6 forum getting help from the folks there and they were great but in the end I couldn't get a tone that sounded good to my ears or felt alive like the response I get from a cranked tube amp. Now I use it in the four cable setup going through my effects loop so that I have control of pre & post effects and like I said in my previous post, I am really happy. If it's working for you that's awesome but for me and the guys I work with it sounded thin and phony at stage volume. There is something magical that happens between a tube preamp and a tube power amp that digital just hasn't replicated yet. It not just the HD500. I've also tried AxeFX II and a Kemper and still find the same thing only difference is they cost 4 times as much. Believe me if I could get away from lugging around a 75 lb amp and still get the sounds I need I would do it in a heartbeat.
Bobby Orwig When you're using one of these things you really should avoid using guitar amps all together because the natural tones that come to an amp really don't mesh very well when you use a multieffects board. When playing live I've always plugged directly into the P.A. and it sounds fantastic.
The power amp/cab sims are the Pod's downfall. The effects and pre-amp sims sound great tho. For my metal tone, I run: hard gate -- skreamer -- peq -- amp -- peq -- peq -- geq, and I always get a sick tone. I use the post EQs to cut the fart from the low-end and hiss from the high-end, and the pre EQ to boost the 1-1.4k. Turning down the Master/Sag, and setting the Low Cut in the Deep Cab Edit can make a world of difference.

After going though that suff for a little while I began to understand how the unit functions. I am more of a pedal guy and not much into modeling at all. Those original amps made me stay away from line 6 and I took a leap of faith and I am happy with this thing for sure.
Had the first model for a while. This updated version they made a few tweaks to it by adding extra amps and memory allowing for more sync without reaching the memory limit sooner than expected. plus the footswitches have a led ring around them so it leta you see them better in the dark.
I never understood why they always load these amps with those cheesy presets. Really, if you study them a bit you can make some amazing clean and distortion sounds.
Jon Mikola nonono, you misunderstood the comment my friend :) im not talking about the effects but the factory presets. Those are shit. I get why they make these devices. They are awesome. I have one myself and I love it
Its the same old thing, people sit behind their comp screen where they are nice and safe and talk smack about things they cant afford or don't understand. My brother just got this and its a kick ass unit. Things have come a long way since the Digitech RP1 He and I started with almost 25 years ago.
honestly don't know what it is about him but something puts me off him :/ i think at times he doesnt explan the right way i sure he means well but honestly i only used this for this model...and didnt find this sooooooooo helpful..
123 if I was you I would look into the problems that people have had with this company before you go spending your hard earned money on this gear. It seems that it’s only the rare person that’s satisfied. The only people that I’ve seen say good things about it usually work for the company.
I have tried out the HD500X. I also own a Line 6 Pocket Pod and a Boss EBand (with GT100 processors onboard). My opinion at this point is that the Boss sounds a bit electronic and fizzy compared to the Line 6, which sounds more natural. The HD500X is not user-friendly a la Apple. I will take time to learn, that's for sure.
It is a great unit no doubt, great sounds and convenient. People tend to expect an amp modeler costing $500 dollars to sound like a $2000 dollar tube amp and that is the problem.....these units just cannot do that, with tweaks you can approach similar tone but that will never be close enough. But these units do provide with good usable tones
No it aint, in fact very far from it as a quality of sound. I have recorded my original song with the gear IM used to record Somewhere in time. Here it is, hope you hear the deference. soundcloud.com/uran242/stargazer-1
With this multi effect, is possible to combine two delays and have a left and right stereo panning effect? Thanks to so much those who answer my question !
I would but I have absolutely no recording capability. Tried getting a tone test from a studio mic but I had nothing to input it into but my PC, and that really didn't work very well. Really quiet, had to boost it 30db just to hear anything, and the amp was at moderate volume. Would think it was a broken mic, but tried it again with another and had the same issue.
It's because most people who demo this thing use the presets, which are based on the designer's style and guitars. So when a reviewer plugs his/her guitar in, they're not going to get the sound originally intended. These things are easily the best modelers for the price on the market, it comes very close to the Fractals at a quarter of the price with a lot more I/O versatility. You really have to get one, go direct (not in front of a preamp), and create your own patches to understand how amazing this piece of kit is.
9unslin9er Thanks for the info .. seeing that you have this experience when you have the time please post a video of the tones you mentioned I am sure that many people including myself would love to hear them..
I used the HD500 for 3 years now and tried amplitube this last month since I was upgrading my studio gear... PODHD samples and models suck in comparison. But POD is the best package for live gigs and so I have kept it because I use just three amp models for my three sounds on stage. I would have preferred they put more processing power and an option to buy the models you want at super high definition like Amplitube does. All in all this is not for the tone conscious but these days no one pays for airline luggage and POD is the best option overall.
That's funny, because I kinda feel like the HD sounds better than amplitube.

sparkelius Yeah I wouldn't trade my PodHD500x for Amplitube. But everyone has their preferences, whatever works for you man. I can see how Amplitube can be convenient when recording because you can record the DI and re-amp guitars afterward. With the Pods it's a bit more difficult to do this.
I personally have purchased a variax, podxtlive ,podhd podhd500, each time hoping that it would be part of the dream rig that it would be if it did what it said it did. But not one piece has been without some kind of a flaw and each time it took just about exactly the time that the warranty was up to be made clear and in some cases years later for it to be known that line6 had known all along but didn’t admit it. Things like using low volt parts in line volt situations and their updates bricking their gear. Weak solders and insufficient grounding in their variax piezo pickups and whatnot. I’ve spent thousands and wasn’t satisfied once and each time thinking that it might just be a learning curve situation. Well it wasn’t. It was defective equipment. But how was I supposed to know that? I suggest if you buy anything at all whatsoever from lin6 that you play the shit out of it and if anything feels even a little bit off or questionable you do some LOUD complaining.i even payed shipping to send gear back only to have them lie to me and send it back saying that it would cost almost as much as a new one to fix it. Line666 IS A FUBU COMPANY. SINCERELY. TONY M.
it's a great little machine, the only thing i don't really understand is 48s for the looper? i mean the ditto looper is absolutely tiny and it can do multiple loops like 8 minutes long or something. surely in this day and age they could have made it much longer
Just brought one, but I'm having trouble getting a none-reverb distortion. Being a dunce I'm sure, but it's like the global setting is stuck on reverb ??? I'm sure I'll figure it out ;)
The HD500x sure is a good device. But the guy who presents it here makes the same mistake as the people who design the presets for those effect pedals: A lot of sick sounds but very little that you can actually use as a basis for the sounds you actually use. And eventually the latter is what decides whether you can actually use the HD500x as a substitute for your analog amp setup.
Considering buying this, however. Im a fiddle player for a band, and also play lead guitar for certain songs. How well do you think the POD HD500x would work with a fiddle on some of the effects? Not to worried about guitar use obviously but it would have to be something that i could use for fiddle effects as well.
As a soloist, how would this or the HD500 go sound wise with both my 1. Acoustic guitar to the 1/4" input and 2. Vocals into XLR input (seperate EQ and reverb needed for each). I'd also like to connect my 3. Roland SPD ONE kick drum pad into the AUX in (no effects needed)! Then direct to the PA speaker with 1 mono XLR lead. Would that work and sound good? Want to get rid of the mixer :).
Hi..I just got a used 500x and i would like to reset to factory store so can you please show or tell me howe to do it..Havent found any video on that...Thanks
I just bought this pedal yesterday from sweetwater, they recommended it over GT-100, I will study the hell out of once I receive it and start building patches. But I noticed not many in depth videos out there, if anyone knows one a link would be very appreciated
Yes I do like it a lot, I downloaded the editing software as well. I like the realistic natural sounding amp models, they don't have the fake digital feel, there is more stuff in it that I would ever need. I also bought about 7000 patches off ebay for $9. Lots of good stuff.
if you know how to use an eq u dont need impulses...i adjust the eq for every patch. i started by deleting every preset then made my own...no need to buy a helix.
for people who have this. How do I run my delays in the fax loop. like what cables go where. an also how do I run stereo out of my delays at the same time? as one of my delay pedals is stereo
so I'm VERY new to the electric world :/ i have a martin acoustic electric and i have an orange electric amp and the line 6 POD 500X. If i plug in my acoustic into the line and the line into the amp (which is not designed for acoustics ) , would it ruin the amp or the acoustic guitar? please help !!! :/ and what is an amp sim? from my understanding i can manipulate the electric guitar amp to act as a acoustic guitar amp??? i don't know hopefully the internet will save the day !
Amps that are not 'designed' for instruments doesn't mean they break down. It means they sound like shit(most likely, sometimes they sound awesome). Just connect your 1/4 out to the amp and set the toggle button to amp mode. If you press the left scroll button you can switch in between presets. The bass and acoustic preset BASS/ACD/VDC preset has some very good acoustic presets further up the banks! If you are not sure, make sure the master of the 500x and your amp are off. Then, put the amp to maybe about a quarter and slowely turn up the master volume of your 500x. You want to master as high as possible because that gives you the best signal to noise ratio. Amp simulators simulate the sound of famous amps. You might have noticed an Angle amp model(If i'm not mistaken) which is modeled after the famous ENGL amps. If you cycle through the amps, the ones in the beginning are usually clean amps that sound good with the acoustic guitar. You might even want to turn the amp simulator off an just use a blue compressor under dynamics to thicken up your sound.
Unclaimed Pantss I agree with Robert. A Martin through an Orange is, well I can't hear it in my head but it doesn't feel good. I do think however a lot of Multi effects & acoustic guitars sound best going through a house system of some sort. A good one. A lot of P.A.'s have speakers & horns, woofers so they have a better range of tones. At least that's my theory. I heard Johnny A. using his Marshall amps. Sounded great/ super. He uses a lot of clean tones & then some zep & Jimi tones also. One extreme to the other. The best time I ever heard him was going through a house system. I do think he may have pre amped with his Marshall rack amp. I use a Gibson acoustic but have it going through a separate amp for acoustics. It just sounds better than through a Fender tube or a multi trying to use an acoustic emulator. I would guess using a keyboard amp for acoustic clean might sound good too although I have never tried one. None the less your Orange should be fine running an acoustic through it but the sound may be less than you want. The line 6 for an acoustic though would not be on my short list. Not fond of the tone at all.
I was all set to find one - you know -take the plunge and treat myself - have it all there in front of me - an easy gigging life , but then I thought I would just make sure it had everything I needed - not trust to luck !! - and you know what ? no accoustic simulator !!!! A gerzillion settings and tweaks but they couldn't make a tiny bit of room for an A.S My 50 quid ZOOM even has one !!! You have to wonder at some peoples mentallity don't you ?
I don’t understand how to use the make your own tone setting when you go on to a completely new tone, it won’t let me access any effects, can anyone help?
+Enzo Sisneros it does work without a head, but it is only a pre-amp. So you'd either need a seperate power-amp, an active monitor or cab, or you just go straight into the PA with it
Hello there everyone. I'm thinking about purchasing an amp modeler of some kind. No one seems to be addressing whether the HD500X or the AxeFX II Feels like playing a real amp. (Currently in 2014) The last time I tried any Line 6 gear it was the Vetta II Head. That head could sound Very close to the Bogner Uberschall, which is Awesome, but because of the few milliseconds of latency it didn't Feel like one. (PS The Line 6 was so good, even back then, that you only noticed the difference in feel when you quickly went back and forth between the real amp and the Line 6.) How is the latency on these units in 2014? How does that Feel? This issue is a Very close second to the tones you can achieve. Please help. (I may go try the HD500X myself today.) Also, does an iPad running a guitar sim (JamUp w/BIAS, etc.) compare at all? Is there more latency with an app on an iPad, or less? When using a bluetooth foot pedal to change patches on an iPad is the switching smoother or worse than the HD500X or AxeFX II? Any help is tremendously appreciated. Thank you all!
you have to adjust the eq for every patch. it doesnt use automatic impulses. that being said you can get any amp sound if you know how to use an eq. there are several good videos on youtube on how to eq a hd500x
This seems very useful for something like a flyaway gig where I can't bring my amp or board... Mainly as a multi FX processor but has a passable amp SIM if the supplied backline isn't the best What are everyone's opinions on it to plug into a supplied amp with your presets? Is there something generally better?
Does anyone know if there is any lag or latency when toggling between two amps in a dual amp rig in a POD HD Pro X? Looking to get one and that's my main concern. Don't have anywhere to try it myself.
Yep, me too. It's big and meaty. Got mine for $267 delivered mint, with the Line 6 gig bag. A Kemper maybe it isn't, but such a steal for little money. The Petrucci presets sound amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@Bridging_the_Political_Divide yoyoyo! Im a rookie to pedals (I’m an acoustic player) what I’m looking for seems to be a “multi effect pedal board” I’ve seen the newest Helix, I just don’t have the money. But my question is, would this work for me as a “one for all” type of thing? Like would I be able to plug my guitar into this, then into an amp or PA or mixer?
Currently using this pod with a full marshal stack - the head is the joe satriani edition - i love all of the effects, im tweaking it alot through the computer to get everything as perfect as i can, but for whatever reason, no matter what patches i make or use, there seems to be a lack of kick to the tone? ive tested this with a different, older line 6 pod and still a lack of kick to the tone. it feels like 60% of the power / kick has been chopped away and im not sure why. im plugged into guitar in, with the amp front into the pod, just 2 cables and still the power and kick loss. best comparison would be listening to a heavy song through a laptop with no speakers, vs a comp with a few 10 inch incredible speakers lol. i mean it sounds great and all, but theres just this raw power missing from it. im on the clean channel on the amp, which is where i should be. i cant figure out what settings im missing or what im setting up wrong. i like to play leads / solos with reverb, delay, sometimes suboctave, sometimes wah
jocro1029 ty very much, definitely will check it out. I wasnt aware there was a 4 cable method. Ive heard of two different 2 cable methods and one 3 cable, but never heard of a 4 cable one.
hi guys! i really wanna get this unit but it is pretty old by this time and i'm worried that if i get it, they might release something new and better at the same price. at the same time, if i wait, i dont know how long i'd have to wait for them to release something new if at all. what do you guys think?
I just got it and it's so awesome because over the years people have uploaded so many presets you can basically get any tone you want to ... if you get something very new there simply wouldn't be that much "content" and know how... I say buy the unit ! :)
it does the same as everything else and tones are the same even now... I just got a brand new one I've done few videos and simplified how to set up everything. Got any questions about it after looking at my video... ask and I'll get back to you.
What's this? "Air conditioning" in auto-mobiles nowadays?! Not in MY CAR!!!! I'll stick to using good old fashioned windows, thank you very much. Non of this new fangled fancy e-lec-tronic bullshit!
hey paul whats up? i think line 6 has some great gear as i own their guitars, amps, pedal boards but I really have ONE major issue is they gladly take your money but they should really tell you that you need 3 years of college to figure how to work them, I called support and really i get a person that basically rushes you off the phone and doesnt want to really help you out in the least bit. I asked a simple qustion on how to set a tone to pull up on the hd500 with the variax i have and run it through a mic'ed ampli and i got this for an answer " THATS NOT POSSIBLE " but when i ordered the stuff they said it was and all worked together. They really should do more indepth video instructions on their products or at least tell support to do their job. SO today i am still using my gibson SG assorted stomp boxes linked together and running it through my Fender amp. So I have all this brand new Line 6 stuff thats sitting in my spare room doing nothing. I just had to vent because i wrote line 6 and as always NO REPLY lol
i have had a HD500X not super impressed.the chorus adds a weird mid range to the tone. the delays are not real great they all sound the same unless u use the way out there ones. but for $500 its gets u any sound u would want. so still not a bad deal. i use my drive pedals in the fx loop. works good like that.

Jon Mikola nonono, you misunderstood the comment my friend :) im not talking about the effects but the factory presets. Those are shit. I get why they make these devices. They are awesome. I have one myself and I love it
Paul does great review segments, doesn't get enough credit.
Quick question, can you bypass the amp models on this thing and just use the effects?
2022, still worth to buy?
Seems like a awesome unit, don't understand all the hate this guy gets.... :/
Based on this video this will possibly be my next investment.
123 right
Always wondered the same.
If I run this straight in to a good set of 5'' speakers, would I need to get a subwoofer to get decent bass, or would it sound OK without one?
we will never know.
5:54 instant Iron Maiden circa 1986 / Somewhere in Time
No it aint, in fact very far from it as a quality of sound. I have recorded my original song with the gear IM used to record Somewhere in time. Here it is, hope you hear the deference. soundcloud.com/uran242/stargazer-1
I won't be the first one to say this, but... OMG THE GUITAR !!!
Its a JIMMY PAGE Signature model
love my hd500, if it's good enough for Steve Howe ....
Just curious I know some of the line 6 amps have actual artist model settings, does this pedal have that as well?
So I can run this thing through my 5150 and into a cab?
Good Playing Paul :-)
"Too much talk, not enough demo" comment #9000
One of countless ventures on my quest for tone...fun sounds but I could never really find what I was looking for
Man everyone gives this guy a hard time lol
the same trolls follow him on every video. they have no life....
He does very good reviews, doesn't get enough respect.
With this multi effect, is possible to combine two delays and have a left and right stereo panning effect?
Thanks to so much those who answer my question !
yes
Great demo Paul thank you...
Dont know why but the pods tone is not really cutting it for me...
It's his style of tone, I don't agree with it either, but this thing can do much more than that.
Bobby make an in depth demo for everyone to check out.. That would be cool if you have the time...
Even the joyo gembox 2 pedal has 3 min looping time. And it’s battery powered.Go figure
Just brought one, but I'm having trouble getting a none-reverb distortion. Being a dunce I'm sure, but it's like the global setting is stuck on reverb ??? I'm sure I'll figure it out ;)
Did u figure it out?
Will it do intelligent harmonies? My Boss ME80 will.
dude i just got mine in mail but its missing the dang power cord :(
I would never give up my amp....ever.
Okay, NOW I WANT TO MYYY POD TO SOUND LIKE THAT TOO.
Yeah, I know I can, but need a lot to know how to do it.
The HD500x sure is a good device. But the guy who presents it here makes the same mistake as the people who design the presets for those effect pedals: A lot of sick sounds but very little that you can actually use as a basis for the sounds you actually use. And eventually the latter is what decides whether you can actually use the HD500x as a substitute for your analog amp setup.
got any questions for simple stuff with this pedal check out my video...
Considering buying this, however. Im a fiddle player for a band, and also play lead guitar for certain songs. How well do you think the POD HD500x would work with a fiddle on some of the effects? Not to worried about guitar use obviously but it would have to be something that i could use for fiddle effects as well.
Although I appreciate these videos I'm always troubled by the lack of bass on his tone... all treble. #80s!
does the HD500x come factory with engl, diezel, mesa and peavey models or are those in separate patches to buy and download?
Does this operate manual mode? I prefer it to operate on manual mode. And if so, can we all do manual mode on every footswitch? Or not all of them?
As a soloist, how would this or the HD500 go sound wise with both my 1. Acoustic guitar to the 1/4" input and 2. Vocals into XLR input (seperate EQ and reverb needed for each). I'd also like to connect my 3. Roland SPD ONE kick drum pad into the AUX in (no effects needed)! Then direct to the PA speaker with 1 mono XLR lead. Would that work and sound good? Want to get rid of the mixer :).
Ma visto che li postate anche in Italia xche'non tradurre in Italiano?Grazie.
Can you turn off the built in amp models.
yep
Found a used one at $180.. still worth it?
I think so. This thing can do a lot, and if you don't like the amp/cab sims, you can use it as a pure effects board too.
go for it. its a great pre amp and has some nice effects
@@mrbungledisco i heard it sounds great with mooer radar.
@@MateoBakija I wanted to try that out sometime
Hell yea
Hello, is it possible to record Input guitar and input mic in the same time ? Or do we need another sound card ? Thanks
Can I use (A B C D) switches as individual effects also? Or are they just for patches?
Hi..I just got a used 500x and i would like to reset to factory store so can you please show or tell me howe to do it..Havent found any video on that...Thanks
I just bough one. My FS6 & FS6 foot buttons dont click like the other switches. Is it because they are in touch mode for the looper? Any Ideas?
how to add beat to POD 500 line 6 plz??
I'm thinking to buy a unit and using a distortion pedal and overdrive in the loop. Will it work well?
Does this pedal have presets like the line 6 spider 5 240 where it will model certain bands and songs already built in?
Where is the power on/ off switch ?
What are the presets for the sound on 5:54? Is there some kind of harmony effect on?
i am a noob on guitar and i dont understand these things.
are they like 100+ pedals in one or is it a amp???
Does it have a pitch shifter to 1 or 2 octaves using it's expression pedal? Thanks
I just bought this pedal yesterday from sweetwater, they recommended it over GT-100, I will study the hell out of once I receive it and start building patches. But I noticed not many in depth videos out there, if anyone knows one a link would be very appreciated
Well a mount passed what do u think about it?
Do u like it?
Yes I do like it a lot, I downloaded the editing software as well. I like the realistic natural sounding amp models, they don't have the fake digital feel, there is more stuff in it that I would ever need. I also bought about 7000 patches off ebay for $9. Lots of good stuff.
Thanks for the respond mate best of luck!!
Cool Review - thanks, Man! God Bless!
if you know how to use an eq u dont need impulses...i adjust the eq for every patch. i started by deleting every preset then made my own...no need to buy a helix.
Ordered one earlier today.
glad you combed your hair for the video
Thank you! Great video.
The effect at 6.11 is something marvellous. How can I reproduce it on my Spider IV 75?? *-*
for people who have this. How do I run my delays in the fax loop. like what cables go where. an also how do I run stereo out of my delays at the same time? as one of my delay pedals is stereo
That thing is pretty huge. I'll stick to the boss me-70 maybe even upgrade to the me-80!
so I'm VERY new to the electric world :/ i have a martin acoustic electric and i have an orange electric amp and the line 6 POD 500X.
The Irby y he ji wais u get ao yjuuk juju tjhhiyhhrh u can
Whats that sound used in minute 5:52? Thanks great video !!!
Buy this or Boss GT-100?
They both sound alot faker than my Digitech RP-500.
Buy this
Amazing I'll buy it!
only 48 second loop?
I was all set to find one - you know -take the plunge and treat myself - have it all there in front of me - an easy gigging life , but then I thought I would just make sure it had everything I needed - not trust to luck !! - and you know what ? no accoustic simulator !!!! A gerzillion settings and tweaks but they couldn't make a tiny bit of room for an A.S My 50 quid ZOOM even has one !!! You have to wonder at some peoples mentallity don't you ?
I love ring modulashors!
I love the illudium Q36 explosive space modulator!
Has that got the sbend
I don’t understand how to use the make your own tone setting when you go on to a completely new tone, it won’t let me access any effects, can anyone help?
Noob question: Can i use this without an amp?Does it work like the pod hd pro x or an fractal axe fx or a guitar processor?
+Enzo Sisneros it does work without a head, but it is only a pre-amp. So you'd either need a seperate power-amp, an active monitor or cab, or you just go straight into the PA with it
What is the synth sounding preset called that he's using on this?
does it have pitch glide?
Hello there everyone. I'm thinking about purchasing an amp modeler of some kind.
No one seems to be addressing whether the HD500X or the AxeFX II Feels like playing a real amp. (Currently in 2014) The last time I tried any Line 6 gear it was the Vetta II Head. That head could sound Very close to the Bogner Uberschall, which is Awesome, but because of the few milliseconds of latency it didn't Feel like one. (PS The Line 6 was so good, even back then, that you only noticed the difference in feel when you quickly went back and forth between the real amp and the Line 6.)
How is the latency on these units in 2014? How does that Feel? This issue is a Very close second to the tones you can achieve. Please help. (I may go try the HD500X myself today.)
Also, does an iPad running a guitar sim (JamUp w/BIAS, etc.) compare at all? Is there more latency with an app on an iPad, or less? When using a bluetooth foot pedal to change patches on an iPad is the switching smoother or worse than the HD500X or AxeFX II?
Any help is tremendously appreciated. Thank you all!
Check out the "Fender Mustang Floor" I got that one and you can use it plugged to and amp, PA or both, and also has amp modeling.
you have to adjust the eq for every patch. it doesnt use automatic impulses. that being said you can get any amp sound if you know how to use an eq. there are several good videos on youtube on how to eq a hd500x
Lol. I automatically knew who would be demoing this!
This seems very useful for something like a flyaway gig where I can't bring my amp or board... Mainly as a multi FX processor but has a passable amp SIM if the supplied backline isn't the best
What are everyone's opinions on it to plug into a supplied amp with your presets? Is there something generally better?
if you eq it right you can get the sound of any cab. impulses are just eq curves....
Does anyone know if there is any lag or latency when toggling between two amps in a dual amp rig in a POD HD Pro X? Looking to get one and that's my main concern. Don't have anywhere to try it myself.
Didn’t realize how freaking massive this thing was when I was looking at a picture of it on reverb😂😂😂
Totally! I bought a used set online, and when I finally see it, it's huge!🤣
Like would I be able to plug my guitar into this, then into an amp or PA or mixer?
i like the sound of the eleven rack better
Good demo.
Look up the 4 cable method of hooking this to your rig, sounds like that may be your answer, good luck!
jocro1029 ty very much, definitely will check it out. I wasnt aware there was a 4 cable method. Ive heard of two different 2 cable methods and one 3 cable, but never heard of a 4 cable one.
@@jocro1029 what is the 4 cable method ??
does it contain an octaver?
yes
Can anybody recommend any current model effects processors that are better, easier to use etc?
Random question, can you stack delays on multi effect processors like this?
+Bob Ong Yes! You could literally have an entire chain of delays if you wanted
yes
What's the effect at 6:11 called ?
So what's the story- does this thing have the best dynamics and tone for the money??
+Francois DuJour JEEES!!
Nice unit, but how hard can it be to get a decent visual tuner on the thing. C'mon!
hi guys! i really wanna get this unit but it is pretty old by this time and i'm worried that if i get it, they might release something new and better at the same price. at the same time, if i wait, i dont know how long i'd have to wait for them to release something new if at all. what do you guys think?
I just got it and it's so awesome because over the years people have uploaded so many presets you can basically get any tone you want to ... if you get something very new there simply wouldn't be that much "content" and know how... I say buy the unit ! :)
it does the same as everything else and tones are the same even now... I just got a brand new one I've done few videos and simplified how to set up everything. Got any questions about it after looking at my video... ask and I'll get back to you.
That thing is huge.
It ways 500LBs and Great for your Biceps.
What's this? "Air conditioning" in auto-mobiles nowadays?! Not in MY CAR!!!! I'll stick to using good old fashioned windows, thank you very much. Non of this new fangled fancy e-lec-tronic bullshit!
Some of the biggest and oldest musicians use this model of System , Steve howe for example

flips220 I find it hilarious, truly hilarious, dying in my seat laughing that they both thought you were serious.
All your fancy switchymijigs to put the windows up n such
Still prefering my GSP1101 with a CONTROL 2....
hey paul whats up? i think line 6 has some great gear as i own their guitars, amps, pedal boards but I really have ONE major issue is they gladly take your money but they should really tell you that you need 3 years of college to figure how to work them, I called support and really i get a person that basically rushes you off the phone and doesnt want to really help you out in the least bit.
Can i usr the expression pedal as wah?
Rhythm Silwal yes you can
i have had a HD500X not super impressed.the chorus adds a weird mid range to the tone. the delays are not real great they all sound the same unless u use the way out there ones. but for $500 its gets u any sound u would want. so still not a bad deal. i use my drive pedals in the fx loop. works good like that.
dude the distortion sounds somehow worse than a boss metalzone
Yeah. But you can make some amazing distortion!
THE THIRD vid about this model, and no one shows what you can do with the pedal...its a floorboard, not a wall board
What kind of combo or amp. use with Line 6POD?
Literally anything. Or nothing. I play mine often straight into my headphones.
I like it but love my stop box modeler more..it’s just easier for me to use..🤘🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶🇺🇸
