What are your thoughts on this subject?
Yes people do have unrealistic expectations of people they admire(celebrity) , and almost all the time the celebrity have no clue about them(the fans), so the reasoning in the video is insightful and people should watch and reflect on it. That's my thoughts on this.

Frankly speaking, I'm attached to Ustadh NAK, Bayyinah TV and other Sheikhs or teachers because they help me become closer to Allah & the teaching of Rasulullah.

It always baffles me when hearing from these topics about people who are famous online / celebrities, just how little some people think about boundaries. It starts small, like giving someone a hug without them agreeing to or offering to. Like he said, to them this celebrity is their entire life, but to the other person this is a complete stranger coming up and hugging them. And honestly i obviously understand especially if its connected with big emotions, you have an admiration for this person, and you just wanna hug them because their words have helped you, but theres is at the end of the day still another human involved with their own feelings and boundaries. Also what happens a lot too is that fans will start up a conversation with that person while theyre out with their families or friends, just out as a private person, trying to enjoy their time. Even worse, searching their home adress and visiting them there. (Although thats basically stalking at this point) Most of these things, especially the less harmful ones, dont come from bad intentions, but its surprising to hear about these stories.

Children used to grow up wanting to be a policeman, fireman, astronaut, nurse, or doctor. Now, if you ask, they want to be a pop star, famous sports figure, or RUclips influencer.
Policemen, firemam, nurse, doctor, those things aren't allowed in Islam because you're not supposed to give an oath to anything other than Allah (swt). And astronaut is just silly because we never left the world.

Yes, we need to talk about this.
Many followers/subscribers are insecure. They lack strong personality. They want to think, they tell themselves that the celebritie is always right and that he is talking about them. I see this with Mufti Menk comments. Many followers think he is talking about them. They say things like ‘it is a sign of Allah’, ‘Mufti Menk always seems to know what I am going through’, ‘What a coincidense’ etc. It is psychotic thinking, a fantasy.
What followers dont understand is that the celebrities also can have their bad moments. But they dont show that in their videos and that is understandable. So it appears that celebritiy Muslims are like angels, that they are the face of Islam and all that other nonsense that followers are saying. They then compare the celebrities with their relatives and friends and then they think they are all bad celebritie is all good.
They then get dissapointed in their fathers because ‘he is not cool or wise or kind’ like the celebritie. Then they distance themselves from the people close to them, the real people of flesh and blood, and then fully focus on the digital figure on their screen that lives far away.
Same with porn. They see the women in the porn movie and then compare them with their wives. Very bad idea but it happens!
The porn actress has make up, good lightning and good camera angles. The wife not. And dont tell me that you find this comparison repulsive. You have short mind thinking so stop complaining and read and learn.
Or people start looking at Instagram at the lives of others and then think that their own life is boring. All nonsense! All self inflicting mental damage! All punishing yourself with fantasies! But it happens to the best! We are sensitive to these impulses. We must not underestimate the manipulative power of social media! These apps are designed to entrap you and enslave you and let you cut off from reality. That’s why so many followers are losing their minds with the celebrities. They spend too much time in the digital world and then project that image what is in their head on the real world.
The followers are fanatics. They cannot think for themselves. They have no confidence. They have problems with their ihklas. They want to be guided somehow. We give some celebrities so much attention and admiration that it reaches or crosses the boundaries of worship. The same happened with the people in the past and still happens nowadays with many Muslims worldwide where they worship/pay respect to dead people. They think that if they worship the idols they will get closer to Allah or that Allah will accept their duas and they get blessings. They dont understand their underlying motives to worship something or someone that you can understand that you can touch etc. But ofcourse they are ignorant and it is haram to do. They think that Allah is far away and that He cannot understand their problems because Allah too abstract. People are more on the same level so easier to approach. And they are very dangerous because they want the celebritie to become what they have in their minds. If the celebritie refuses they get dissapointed and find someone else who is willing to fullfill their fantasies and to be their god. Same with the people of Israel. Musa was gone for 40 days and when he came back the Israelites made an idol to worhsip because they thought that Allah had deserted them. The idol was something close to home. Allah was forgotten.
The Muslim celebrities are to blame also. Because they give the fans/followers what they want in the form of dailyvideos, posts, comments, whatever. Adolf Hitler did the same thing. He was a propaganda machine figure and gave speeches and the people loved him and adored him. They felt saved like the people who worshipped the golden cow in the time of Musa. It is all mass psychosis. It is a constant two sided circulation of feed and take.
And the Muslim celebrities have to be carefull not to fall into the trap of narcissism. Because they have been conditioned throughout the years to be a celebritiy simply because they have the cameras on their face all the time, they are the center of attention all the time, they get the best treatments, facilities and speech of others. It is very dangerous and even the best amongst us can be tricked by shaitan. These are blind spots. Things we do wrong but we cannot see. He will whisper in the ear of the follower that the celebritie is so special and he will whisper in the ear of the celebritie the same thing. It is a fantasy. We create it ourselves. And if we continue do so we are digging ourselves deeper into this trap. We have to be more selfaware of our own psyche and our relation with celebrities from distance or closeby. Yes, we should respect our Muslim scholars. But within healthy boundaries.
And to RUclips or the team of NAK DONT DELETE MY COMMENT! Let me speak and give me my thoughts on this! I am sick of being treated like a child and being censored etc. let people read my comment and let me have my opinion, please! Dont cancel critisism! It is narcissistic to do so!

The impact of culture over religion is becoming too overwhelming and while Allah is going to assess everyone according to our capacities, some people jump into the scholar industry just like any other profession and create radicalization and polarization.
We belong to A prophet pbuh who didnt even curse people of Taif who almost gave him a blood bath that perhaps their future generation will be believers.

But overall the tolerance of Muslims in Britian is not very commendable its just an observation. They have been impacted by the overall intolerant culture of the folk.
Road rage and crime is also quite high. Which has seeped into the attitudes of the common man. Irrespective of religion. Islam is not harsh. Its a religion of the Rahman and Raheem who told us to say Salam. How can we muslims be so Crude and intolerant of disagreements.

sister i understand, i’ve been there too… just remember these celebs and kpop idols are humans…God knows what things they do in private. their job is to appear, sound and make attractive music videos so they can make money for themselves and their family. They don’t know you and don’t genuinely care about your duniya and akhirah. While Allah knows you. He cares.
Additionally, Allah tells both men and women to lower our gaze. Think of your future, we want our husband to look at us only, not other kpop girl’s body and face. Same way, we will have to look and appreciate our husband, not other men. So get closer to Allah and learn about the prophet (pbuh) then you will lose interest in all these idols who are attached to this duniya.
