Why props aren't bigger because combustion engines are our limit for the PTW for life size planes. Know you limitations. Why many pilots die and protocols are hammered into. Physics are fun if you like to challenge yourself.
Yes, when we fly extreme 3d aerobatics, the power to weight is 1.5:1 in order for us to hold a good hover without the plane struggling to pull the weight. Sometimes we're only at 50% throttle when doing a hover just from sheer power and you have enough leg room to power out, except on windy days where we have to correct a lot on throttle. For this size plane run about 20-27lbs. My Extreme Flight Extra is about 26 lbs flying weight with everything in it.
