- With 3 Games in the Super Monkey Ball series now released, people turned to see what Amusement Vision would make next. But things got complicated very quickly...
This video is Chapter 4 of Fall Out: A Super Monkey Ball retrospective. I recommend watching the previous video first for additional context.

Playing Deluxe on PS2 should honestly be made illegal based on that footage 🤐
I never knew about the Banana Crazy trademark, it’s a whole new perspective into what could’ve been
Got this on my birthday, i loved it as a kid, especially the otr shooter mini game. I've never had those weird load issues on an NTSC PS2 copy though.
Interesting! Are you sure it wasn’t on Xbox?
"SEGA, how do you lose the rights to your own music?"
That's a question Sonic fans have been wondering for a long time.
They dumped the Dole branding, and basically every Monkey Ball after this one sucked. It can't be a coincidence.
I mean banana splitz for the ps vita wasn't terrible
deluxe for the xbox is peakkkkkk
I wonder why they never ported this game to the Wii. That would be amazing, you could use a GameCube Controller, Classic Controller, Nunchuck, or even Banana Blitz style motion controls of you really wanted to!
I think they want to keep the old graphics style to that generation of hardware
Really hope they nail the controls on Banana Mania. Monkey Ball lives or dies by them.
I feel like I've yet to find someone who talks about these games at the same length, depth, and quality as you. These videos are really solid, and I'm excited to see what comes next!
Thanks so much! I always try to do my best with these videos so I’m glad you enjoy them!
in response to the music being changed, it might be a sonic 1/2 situation. masato nakamura owns the compositions for both games. sega is free to use it but they must pay royalties. it might be a similar situation in super monkey ball.
Interesting! Though I think SMB has a different composer?
@@Kardino i know, i just meant that something similar could’ve happened to the smb composers
Guess the best way to play is through emulator with a gamecube control.
The community has actually ported deluxe to GameCube by hacking 2. It isn’t 1 to 1 but it’s more stable
@@Kardino the port's not complete yet though, as the creator has stated. next step is apparently going to be a true port
Nah, the problems with deluxe controls are actually coded into the game itself. The game would still feel off with a gamecube controller. The comments above me are correct however.
Apon closer inspection, the controls seem to have a wierd system where the faster you change the direction of the stick, the more it will snap to the 8 directions.
Best way to play it: The new fan mod to play Deluxe on Dolphin emulator!
The controls of the PS2 version of Super Monkey Ball Deluxe were so frustrating that I snapped my game disc in half when I got a game over on Stamina Master.
Wow! I played the Xbox version and Stamina Master was hard enough! I can’t imagine dealing with the horrible controls and loading times on PS2!
I broke 2 controllers trying to get through Exam-C on the PS2 Version...
Please upload the entirety of those cutscenes running on the 360. That had me dying.
I live to serve
