I realize that this comment is a year later or more, but I have a border collie that needs the very same thing done to and for him, right along with me by his side every step of the way and I cannot seem to find a vet even wanting to or willing to do a procedure like this and that makes me hurt a whole lot, because when you see a vet they charge you an arm and a leg but yet they won't and seem like they don't want to help your pet which is a member of your family and means an awful lot to you, help you guys out, where is the compassion, the heart, the oath that one takes to become a veterinarian, like I said a bunch of them are just in it for the money and they just don't care about helping anyone out anymore, they have short hours and not even on call like they used to be

There's a high chance of survival. Keep following your vet's advice. I have seen a lot of cases like that and the patients usually survive. You can let your veterinarian evaluate the situation and give you an accurate prognosis. I wish you well ❤️ 💙
Im praying my dog doesnt have this issue he is about 20ishpds and has liver issues but he has meds and has been bk in forth to vets.hes about 5 yrs old now.His stomach is bloated but not this big in the video no.He goes potty eat and drink.And play but his belly is not normal to me.?

Please gage your vet again. Try and find out from him/her what the underlying cause could be so you can treat from there

What caused this back up of fluid ?
It could be attributed to a lot of factors it's commonly as a result of liver disease, protein deficiency or worm infestation
My dog had something similar but in his legs chest and belly.. he died today in my arms. They said we couldn’t save em..

My dog has the same problem stomach has been drained twice and he eats after being drained but after a week he gets bloated again..
That's sad 😔. Please don't give up, you can change your veterinarian if you don't like the outcome
