This is the second time I've watched you review a phone from this manufacturer. Again everytime you said Iqoo I found myself wanting to say "Bless you!" 🤧 😅
Got the phone delivered in Thailand global version just 2 days ago, nice phone, good picture, video is fine. Some little bugs but nothing major. And like you said the selfie video isn't up to par but everything else is :-) Came with a free air fryer which is weird, but ok.... Thanks for the great review. Custom launchers work with gestures too which is nice. I do miss the realme screen translate as my thai reading skills are on preschool level..
4:42 you aren't supposed to see PWM flickers with naked eyes (if you can see it then it's just a veryyyyyyyy bad screen), it should appear when you use measurement equipments or using camera with very high shutter speed. And the screen brightness needs to be lower of course. Anyway based on my search the screen advertised frequency is 2160Hz (don't know for which brightness value). Not too low (Samsung devices can be as low as 120hz) but also not too high.
Yeah there really is no way to see it or any flicker now. The PWM is higher enough on most new devices thanks to Honor that where really pushing this, Honor Magic 5 series, Honor 90 etc. Only with a certain shutter rate it will show. But overall such a great screen.
Been a long time subscriber of your channel. Love your videos man. Wouldn't buy a phone without watching your review. Wish you had more subs though. Anyway keep making these videos for us.
I still think it's a great value smartphone. Considering the hardware to price ratio, you probably don't need too many flagship features unless you need thos specific features like 4K front cameras. But as an overall phone, this is definitely best value smartphone as of now.
I agree and yes right now it the best and I'd Iqoo fix the throttling and the front camera giving it at least EIS it's a killer phone for the price. The screen is stunning, the build also great and the rear cameras were a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect it to be this good.
Hey Chris. Don't you think this iQOO 12 can go toe to toe with Vivo X100 ( Non Pro Version) I've checked and found out the sensor size of the main camera is actually larger. Which should produce more light.
You keep wishing that they wouldn't do this but those brand pays nearly 1€ for a mid range and 2€ for a flagship on average per unit to appear on the home screen and when you get 20 or 30 of them , that's 30€ less that the phone cost and up to 60€ for this particular flagship. So you can uninstall them in 2 mins and you won 60€ on the phone price. So please stop saying in the same sentence that you like the low price and that you hate the bloatware. Thanks
Chris Sir what are your views of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2? What about heating and power efficiency? I believe actual performance gains and smoothness comes from software optimization than brute force of hardware.
So far this is my 3rd phone with it and a mix bag really, short bursts it's great but it's a hotter chipset that's for sure. Long periods of gaming if it's not fan cooled then it's performance is like the Gen2.
Watching your vids after a long time since watching reviews of Chuwi, Onda tablets a long time back ~2015/16 & I literally bought the MiNote2 after watching your in-depth reviews on it ❤🎉
HYD Sir..how would you compare this phone to something like the pixel as far as cameras and or iphone Samsung other top phones..I currently have oneplus 11 and had the pixel 7 pro before..how would you compare these Chinese brands.
Hi Chris, Are you going to review all of the redmi k70 series phones? It'd be great to see you compare the k70 pro and the vanilla k70 together. Thanks.
Thank you. OnePlus 12 maybe but I have no contact with them. Realme cut me off also for being honest with my GT3 review. So doubt I'll buy that GT5 Pro.
@@Techtablets This is why I love your honest reviews. I'm disappointed with the reaction from realme. And btw, I'm using a Realme GT2 Pro (as I type) from one of your reviews from a couple years back. Best phone I've ever had. Btw one thing that seems to go unnoticed in every flagship review vid is the width of the phone given every one is 6.8 length odd. I'm always interested in this but reviewers never seem to mention this. My two cents. Thanks 🙏
The rear camera alone shapes like a Mi logo. Again, 1080p max on the front camera is still unacceptable. It seems like the flagship chipsets like SD 8 Gen 3 & Dimensity 9300 are suffering from thermal throttling issues despite using the 4 nm build.
Hey TT. Excellent review. I always watching your Channel for Tech News. Thank you very much for your true, sincerely, and always right reviews. Cheers and all the best from Romania.
Great review Chris and keeping it honest! Any chance you'll be reviewing Vivo X100 Pro anytime soon? I saw recently on Vivo's website some news about global presentation on 14th of December if I'm not mistaken. But I might be trippin 🙃
Thanks for response Chris. I hope they'll send you a review unit soon. It's tough to find a thorough review of this phone online. But so far, it looks promising.
Not I think this has better rear cameras for most shots. The Xiaomi has better portraits and selfie cam plus 4k video. The zoom camera with the iqoo 12 dominates and is superior to the Xiaomi 14 Pro and it's maybe better then even the S23U 10x zoom camera.
As I showed in this video rear camera video is fine. EIS might not be the best but as long as you don't run its good. If you want the best video for me, it's the iPhone 15 Pro/ProMax still the best there is with phones. Android then the Oppo Find X6/S23 Ultra.
Chris Sir can you confirm if we can use Nova Launcher on this device and make it the default launcher with gestures working normally? I like to use Nova Launcher to customize and personalize my smartphone.
Confirmed Nova is working and with system gestures I set it as default. Works really well. Overall I'm really impressed with this phone, just fix front camera EIS and less throttling it's one of the best around for the spec and price point.
One more question, if I'm not mistaken you live in Spain right? How has your experience been with TradingShenzhen regarding taxes and shipping speed? Thank you.
They need to add a gaming mode to make the phone heat up more for true, that is a major drawback especially for in the future when games & apps become more demanding…..
I would get this unless gaming is your #1 requirement then you can't beat that Redmagic 9 Pro performance it's the best there is right now for gaming but this phone really surprised me. So good, the build and the cameras I never expected them to be so good or that zoom to be so good.
Overall if you don't game or shoot vlog video it's a fantastic phone. Love the screen and solid rear cameras that don't disappoint. As the below comment points out the Oneplus 12 will be better, but more expensive.
I want to add that before the latest Funtouch my iQoo 11 would push the performance to the max, heating a bit (not to extreme) ans maintaining 50-55 fps on Genshin impact at medium settings. After the update i barely get 45-50 fps, disappointing really. Yeah it's abit cooler but holy crap the decrease in performance is noticeable.
Yeah it's worse with the snapdragon 8 gen 3, like why even bother putting in that flagship chip if you don't push the performance of it to what it should be.
It's really good for the price, in fact i bought Iqoo 11 in my country and loved it since, planning on upgrading it to Iqoo 12. It's just that.... atrocious camera island
Chris Sir now I am considering moving away from Samsung and Google Pixel and am considering smartphone from Chinese Vendors, especially since they are improving their software and are taking international markets more seriously. Problem with Samsung is that mostly only their flagship S series smartphones are really good though they are also overpriced and obviously very expensive (I am a student). Nice looking phone, but no 3.5mm headphone jack is a bummer coz I hate ear phones which need battery recharging 😢
Just minor upgrades this phone needs like better selfie , type c video output and 4k 60 all camera integration thats it i would buy right away and many more
Most of which (expect video out) can be fixed by updates.
there is a pro version
Back to Xiaomi
Ok
This design better than Xiaomi
I'll never ever buy a Chinese phone at all
